Neuschwanstein Castle
« on: September 21, 2014, 07:40:21 PM »
Item Name: Neuschwanstein
Location by Origin ID: Indira_1221
Hashtag: carlsguide
Lot Type: Residential
Lot size: 40x30
Price Tag: $156,322
Bedrooms: 5
Bathrooms: 5

This castle is called Neuschwanstein. Honestly, I don't know how to pronounce it properly as I never learned German. Regardless, even if the name is hard to say, the castle looks fabulous in real life. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/37/Neuschwanstein_castle.jpg

This is my Sim version of Neuschwanstein Castle.

Castle at night
It's eerie while I was viewing this at night --real time and sim time. It's easy to imagine a werewolf coming out from the forest. (See left side of castle in-game for a path that leads outside the lot towards an unseen forest). Anyway, it was creepy. I minimized the number of lamps in the lot to get the right ambiance.

Castle Courtyard

Living room and Dining room

Kitchen
The kitchen is connected to the servants' quarters. I didn't include pictures of the bedrooms anymore.

Vegetable Garden

Garden for Cherry Blossom Viewing
(I really love Japanese events).

Barracks/Guards' Room
On the floor below, are two beds for warriors/guards/mercenaries. On the second floor I placed items for workouts.

There is also a Master's bedroom, a nursery/kiddie room and a room for a two more children.
I'm so drained. Next time, I'll build on a smaller scale. 30x20 or 20x15. The 50x50 lot would be impossible. Too much space!

Ahhh, the "feels".  Getting all nostalgic seeing this and remembering the one and only time I saw it in RL.  You've done an amazing job.  This will be in library for sure.

PS:  You pronounce it noiya schvan stein.  The middle part is the hardest.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

Unfortunately, I've only seen pictures. :(
But the castle looked really nice, so I went looking for any blueprint or likeness and tried to recreate it. I do wish there was a better roof for the towers though.
