Moving family and the axe disappears

Good afternoon everybody,
first I've gotta say that this guides here in Carls website are really helpful. The forum too of course!
So, my problem is, I had the pangus axe, got it old fashioned way, but as I moved away from my home, some things just stayed in the basement, as the axe, some expositors....
so now I would like to know if anybody has some ideas how to get it back. Can I steal it?

Hi Burgos,
There is a thread in this section called "Lost ... my precious axe" that I think might have the information you're looking for.  I haven't had the problem myself and can't remember all the discussion in that thread.  I do know you can get another axe with the buydebug cheat, if you want to do it that way.

I've read it but I still cant manage to do it, I place the axe, two ball, the computer, then I walk downstairs and there is nothing in there.
I tried to steal it changing the traits to Kleptomaniac for a night, I couldn't.
I added one other sim, placed him in my previous home, took the axe to his inventory, and added him to my family. He arrived with no axe in the inventory, nor in the family objects...
Edit: Just tried going to China, into a tomb, buying the axe in the tomb, but he still disappears as soon as I set to live mode
Another edit: lol 5 min after the tomb attempt I had another idea, I moved to the house I were I was before, put the axe in the inventory, then moved again and now it came with me to the huge collection room. By the way, wouldn't it be nice that people show their collections?
