In my opinion the celebrity feature is a lot worse than the vampire feature, but that's just because it's slowing my game down so much. I don't think that I would hate it as much if it didn't make the game play buggy.

On the other hand, it's annoying to have a potential mate, for example, who shows up as a vamp before you can marry them, if you are playing a Dynasty or just don't want the vamp blood.

How did Queenie manage to get a slice of birthday cake without the cake being cut?

Great update as always

Ha. I have no idea. She was the first Sim to grab a piece I know that. Does an adult even need to cut it?

No. I've noticed this too in the past though. The first slice doesn't cut the cake.

Queenie was an adorable toddler.  As a child, it looks like she's developing Jamila's features.  Poor Recipe still can't get a child that looks like him.  Great update, especially the potty training.  It's good to see a Man again.

Queenie just aged up to Teen. Yeah, bigtime resemblance to Jamila.

Queenie is lovely, but that playing part is priceless. You're totally right about playing styles, but only sometimes parents change roles. Anyway she will be well prepeared for future life. Evil doctor, hm, I can picture that, in fact, hope she won't turn into some very bad bad doctors like Dr Mendel or something. Just keep her away from politics career :D

Funny update. I can guess where butlers come from now, they must have failed medschool. If you wan't Queenie as an evil doctor she can claim to use old traditional methods like "bring in the leeches and the bonesaw".

Was the toddler monster commentary the wild and crazy? I used to do either that or toy dinosaur attacks when I got bored when babysitting my much younger brother who’d inherited a dollhouse and I’m not a Man.

Love it!  Hopefully Bella will leave some potential mates alone so that Queenie can propagate!

Sweet Child of Mine, the Teen Queen

Queenie is now a Child. Like Pam and a lot of other Dynasty players, I think about potential immortals’ spouses long before the Young Adult stage. I think about it while a future immortal is in elementary school. After Queenie got on the bus to go home after her first day of school, I parked the game camera in front of the school for another few minutes to see who else would exit. A cute little light haired boy came out and hopped on his bike to go home. I tracked his journey, so Queenie could pay a visit.

The boy’s name is Jarret Conner. Jarret’s mother, Charissa, is quite attractive and thankfully Jarret inherited her features and does not resemble his dad, Whitney. Whitney looks like like he fell out of the ugly tree and did not need to be a distraction in the following screenshot. I mean, he’s not Barnacle Bay ugly, but still. The cute kids and Charissa is all your brain needs to absorb...

Queenie: “Every Queen needs a King, and and I think you’d look great in a crown, Jarret. Don’t be surprised if my dad takes a photo of your butt after we’re married.”

Queenie was standing around doing nothing while Recipe was trying to knock out a Brilliant or Masterpiece ice sculpure for her Child stage (finally got a Brilliant one). Ha ha...get a load of the Evil trait animation from her. It’s kind of scary—if I saw a child this devious looking I’d definitely be quickly walking the other direction...

“Take special care of those ruby slippers—I want those most of all. Now fly, FLY. FLY. FLY!”

One of the special Evil socials is Mastermind Plot. I can see that as an option for Young Adults and older. Okay, I'll go so far as to say a Teen could realistically have that kind of social. But, a grade school kid? C'mon. Yes, Mastermind Plot is a social option for an Evil Child. Crazy. I mean, how would that conversation go? “That's it. I'll show them. I'm going to march into Hogan's Deep Fried Diner, steal all of their kid's meals and then they'll go out of business. Ha ha ha. Then I'll just buy it for 1 simolean and make my own kid's meals. I'll make so much money I'll own the town in a week.”

I’m always amazed at how much children can look like one of the parents. Queenie is quite similar to Jimala. When Queenie aged up to Child, it was quite apparent that Recipe did not contribute very much to her good looks. And now, as a Teen, it’s even more obvious. Heh. Queenie and her future younger hubby are Best Friends, but I’m thinking Jarret is probably developing a full blown crush right about now given how Queenie filled out right before his eyes...

Jarret: “I know your dad wants a butt shot of me later, but could I ask him to also take one of you? Like right now.”

A nice surprise I discovered was Jarret Connor aged up to Teen literally right after Queenie did. He must have gone home after Queenie’s birthday party, and aged up too because Jarret and Queenie both started high school together. Bonus! Yeah, when it comes to tieing the knot, there will be little waiting around time.

After a few hard, long days in high school and another opportunity completed to cap the school performance meter, it was time for Queenie to make the moves on Jarret and take the relationship to the Romantic Interest level. He came right over and within a couple hours, Queenie and Jarret were smooching...

Queenie: “Here’s my royal seal of approval that you’ve become part of Queenie’s court.”
Jarret: “Yes, m’lady. If it pleases the court, I’d now like to juggle and sing a song.”

It obviously makes sense with Queenie’s Genius trait that her SuperMax skill be Logic. But, wow! I’ve never done all of the Logic challenges before. It’s going to take her some serious amount of time compared to other skill challenges. The first thing I had her work on was simply raising the skill via the telescope and exploring celestial bodies. I kept praying that a meteor strike would not result. I guess someone was listening. Queenie was creative in naming the first few stars she discovered: OMG! My own friggin star, Agnes the Hagness, Yellow Star ICU, and Queenie Star, but then she got tired of putting in the effort...

“I’m going to call you...New Name.”

One of the Ambrosia requirements that was easy to get out of the way were the two investments that Queenie needed to make. The building she purchased was EverFresh Delights Supermarket and the property was Summer Hills Springs. What a great investment opportunity for Queenie—especially the property. The whole Man family can walk out their front door to enjoy this new fully upgraded Frank Lloyd Wright inspired facility. Where do I even begin to tout the special touches of this renovated park? You’ve got sprinklers on 24/7 which keeps you on your A game if outdoor cooking is in your picnic plans. But on the other hand, if you work up a sweat on the treadmill, then you can cool off in the sprinkler and play piano for toilet users at the same time. The well placed coleus acts as a privacy fence for anyone wanting to use the convenient shower. I think it’s safe to say that Tourist Fu Tai gives Summer Hills Springs a nice, wet butt shake of approval.

Another thing I really had Queenie focus on in her Teen stage is building those Best Friend relationships. One of her new Best Friends is her high school classmate, Heather Tong. Heather is a one-star celebrity, so as Queenie was moving up the relationship level with Heather, so did her celebrity status.

With just a few days before Queenie’s Young Adult birthday, I had her focus on beginning work on some other Logic challenges—namely, the Tutoring one and the Grand Master one for chess. Queenie only has one option for tutoring—tutoring in Logic since that’s her only skill, so she tutored Jamila in that. With 5 skills already maxed Recipe is obviously ineligible to receive Logic tutoring from his daughter.

I’ve been waiting and waiting for the World Renowned Surgeon LTW to fire for Queenie, but then it dawned on me—the career Lifetime Wishes probably do not even fire for Sims until they are Young Adults. Not sure on that one, but that would make sense. Then, as she and her first opponent were playing, I got a nice surprise—the Chess Legend LTW fired for Queenie. Perfect! She'll still max the Medical career, but she’s going to have to get to the top of the chess ranks anyway as part of doing the Grand Master challenge.

So, Queenie called up her first Chess opponent. It was none other than Sam Sekemoto. You're probably wondering if Sam just returned from the tanning salon. No, unfortunately Sam has also fallen victim to the rampant vampirism of Sunset Valley. Insane. I'm going to suggest to EA that they combine the great features of vampires and meteors into one element—vampire meteors. Anyway, Queenie put the hurt on Count Chocula and bagged a win. What would have really been been cool is if he would have flipped out, turned into a giant meteor bat and carried her off to his castle made of chocolate cereal. Oh, well.

Queenie: “My Queen takes your pawn. Checkmate.”
Count Chocula: “You and your whole family have an ultimatum...if you do not try my delicious cereal, I will turn into a giant meteor and bite your whole house!”

Another chess opponent shows up, Andy Luke. Well, Andy brings along two of his cohorts, Lester and Cameron Luke. They just invite themselves right in and start making themselves at home. I’m watching the result of the chess match in Queenie’s bedroom and a cloud of smoke in the kitchen catches my eye. Lester picks a fight with Jimala. Bad idea, Lester. Turns out, Lester is a celeb and this is the really funny part...Jimala gets a wish to Impress Lester.

Jamila: “How did that size 7 boot feel, huh? Did that make an impression? Come here, skull and crossbones...you’re next.”

Jamila had a nice Elder birthday party. But, she didn't make the phone call to throw the party—Queenie did. It was another opportunity to pump her friendships when everyone left the party happy. When everyone left Jimala's party, Queenie's 6 Best Friends were a lock: Recipe, Shanta Carranza, Jarret Connor, Heather Tong, Angela Mackenzie and Cameron Luke. Nice. Another Ambrosia requirement in the bag.

Actually, I thought Jamila's Elder appearance was not too bad. But, I did change her hair color to the same color wheel numbers as her Adult hair (Pam, you can get off of the floor now). I know, pretty bizarre for me to do that, but what the heck, right? I’m keeping the Everyday outfit she aged up with. I like it—reminds me of how my mom looks when she goes out shopping...always has her purse and sometimes even a necklace too.

So, it was a great Elder birthday party for Jamila. Everyone has a great time and the evening wound down with Queenie stoking the fire with Jarret to keep those romantic feelings nice and toasty. Happy birthday, Jamila!

The very next day was Queenie's high school graduation. Recipe and Jamila went to the school to be a part of the big moment. Recipe was the first to give Queenie a nice hug...

Recipe: “Jamila, where are you? Come on over and give our daughter a big graduation hug!”

So, all in all it was a very productive Teen stage for Queenie. She has maxed (not SuperMaxed) Logic and finished the Celestial Explorer challenge. She also has her investments wrapped up and as long as she keeps her existing Best Friends at the same level, that’s in the bag as well. As soon as Queenie got home from school, I aged her up to Young Adult. Since Jamila had a big birthday bash the day before, I didn’t bother throwing Queenie a party and kept it nice and intimate with just the folks.

Traits. I think I forgot to mention the trait I added for Queenie when she aged up to Child. It was Bookworm. And the Teen trait I added was Ambitious. I gave her the Lucky trait when she aged up to YA. Pickins were slim. I just did not know what to give her. I figured maybe Lucky would help her win a few more chess matches.

To celebrate the big moment of Queenie turning Young Adult, the Mans walked across the street to Summer Hills Springs and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. Ugh. A phone call at this nice, peaceful moment?

Recipe: “Hello?”
Carl: “Recipe, it’s Carl.”
Recipe: “Ratcliff?”
Carl: “No, Karl Marx, you dummy. Yes, of course, it’s Carl Ratcliff. Look, I just woke up to tell you your Dynasty is doing great. Give Queenie a big birthday hug from me, okay?
Recipe: “Thanks, Carl. Wow. This means a lot coming from you.”
Carl: “Yeah, well...enough chit chat. I’m busy, so I’m going back to bed.”
