It gets even more weird when you think that Metro Man made up the rules for the dynasty before he was even born! Maybe Metro went back in time to give Recipe the rules for immortality to ensure that he gets born into a family of immortals.

Hey, if you can explain it to me, please do so!  :D It is weird. I'm working on my next update as we speak and I'm using the word "I" as if I remember what's going on. It's just too bizarre. Somebody call a doctor.

Oh goodness, I spent like 3 hours reading this whole thread yesterday when I should have been doing homework and it just made my Sim withdrawals worse. I have to finish My Garden of Eatin still, but I have a bunch of homework. Silly college. Metro, you are a GENIUS and amazing. Just thought I would tell you :)

Metro, You’re Such a Child!

A birthday for Metro already? Seems like only yesterday I was being squeezed out my own womb without a view.

I actually remember being very, very hungry in the photo below. Breastfeeding from Recipe was obviously out, so he handed me to Crazy and for whatever Crazy reason, it worked!

See the phone call coming from behind Recipe? It turned out to be the Garlic Goodness cooking opportunity. Put those thoughts together and change around the words and you’ve got — Garlic Goodness coming from Recipe’s behind.

Chances are if I had really been this cute as a toddler I’d be modeling for GQ today instead of writing for a video game website and trying to feed my 12 children with more than ramen noodles and mayonnaise sandwiches.

Time for some real work to begin! Recipe begins working on Metro’s Toddler portrait while EeyoreWright teaches the youngster to talk.

A little break for some Pickin’ and Grinnin’...

Recipe took Metro to the back of Manly Estates for a special view of the museums...

Recipe: “There’s your mom’s museum items. I just finished her Young Adult items a week ago. Now I’ve got a surprise for you, Metro. Close your eyes. Go ahead, close them. It’s okay. It’s a good surprise.”

Recipe: “Okay, you can open your eyes now. What do you think? Your Toddler items are in place. Whew! I need to go sit down and rest after all that work.”

It was a beautiful day at Central Park. Metro, his mom, and grandpa Sound all took a little family outing there.

Central Park was also the perfect place for Metro to get “regular” in his feelings for nearby City Hall.

EeyoreWrite: “Sunset Valley needs reform — vampires, paparazzi, constant celebrity phone calls. But all this reform will take serious funding. You need to PUSH that legislation right out and have it successfully drop on the floor. Law #2 for the people!”

I believe I’ve mentioned the following fact before in the Man Dynasty — men and women typically bring their different types of personalities to play time with children...

Queenie: “Metro, did you know how important our space program is for Sunset Valley residents? A lot of the important research I did at the hospital was all made possible from cutting edge research and technology from the space program.”

Crazy: “Unless you want giant monsters to rain down on Sunset Valley and destroy everything including the army base rocket, we have to prepare our defenses. As a future politician, you must be aware of our safety. AT LEAST THAT’S WHAT A CARING FLOOR HYGIENATOR WOULD DO!”

I watched a lot of TV as a young boy...not too much now — although the first episode of the new American Idol season got me hooked the other night. Back in the day it was Ultraman, Speed Racer, Johnny Socko and his Flying Robot, Superfriends, Bugs Bunny, and of course drooling over Ginger and Mary Ann on Gilligan’s Island — those were some of my faves. The Halls of History? Not so much...

My real father was always there to share in my birthdays and other key life moments as I grew up. There’s no reason why Derik McCauley should be any different...

My next birthday came in front of City Hall, and I aged up to a Child. A very strong argument could be made that I’m still a Child...

With the whole family at the bottom of City Hall's steps I realized I had a captive audience. With the Dynasty conclusion now in plain view it was time to rally the troops. I climbed to the top of the stairs, spit out my Laughy Taffy, and took a deep breath...

“This is a proud moment for all Mans. Even for men and women who aren’t Mans. It seems like just yesterday when I was across the street going to the bathroom in the middle of Central Park.”

“But, I’m here. And you’re here. And we could not have gotten this far without a lot of support.”

“Things like this just don’t happen in a vacuum. I am not an island. This a team effort, Mans!”

“But, let me tell you something...we have had our doubters and disbelievers. People have wrongly accused us...saying we have peed on ourselves, got into fights, rummaged through garbage cans — but, we persevered and stayed the course.”

“The journey is not over, my Mans. There’s still hard work ahead. But, if we always keep our eye on the prize, we can overcome anything. Let’s hope and pray that we do not die from a huge monster falling from...I’m sorry...meteor falling from the sky. I misread that cue card. Hahahaha.”

“I’d like to point out the overwhelming support I’ve received from the Immortal Diaper Foundation and their great team of lobbyists. They really offered heavy support in a time of my life when I was all wet.”

“Two men deserve special recognition. The first is Almos Gotcha, president of the Play Tag Forever Coalition. Almos and his dedicated group of professional tag players has shown me that my future success in being Leader of the Free World rests upon the relationships I’m building right now by playing tag. Almos...you’re it!”

“The other man I want to mention is Tom Bower who has spearheaded the Recycled Bower Movement, a totally revolutionary program that offers immmortal and mortal Sims alike the chance to use 100% recycled undergarments. Why would you even want to do this? Call Tom’s office and he can explain the benefits.”

“Thank you all for coming. No more questions.”

I know. Sometimes I'll say, "I" when describing what's going on (1st person). And then I might say "Metro" (3rd person). It is supposed to be me as a Sim. Sort of. Don't try and figure it out too much or you're bound to get a headache. Just roll with it and have fun.

I wouldn't worry too much on point of view. It's a really complicated part of all writing and literature. You have to like writing to actually truly understand it.
