Playing online gives rewards??

I played on-line today for no particular reason ( I actually didn't realize!) and when I quit the game I window popped up so quickly I didn't get a chance to really read it.
It said something like 'you have played the maximum number of hours today and have been awarded..."....
Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone know what it is? Is it related to TS4 and if so... what is it?
My curiosity is driving me nuts!

I've never seen that message before. I'll try staying online longer. (Although it makes my game slower than normal).

I've played an extensive number of hours and read several forums about this game and there is nothing like that in place. I always play online too.

Ummm, sorry guys, I just found out that this on-line in game rewards thing is something that my son downloaded (without asking first) and it links to his steam account 
I'll leave this thread here so you can see my answer... then it might just vanish before I become very embarrassed
