Peridot looks slightly bemused or maybe embarrassed as the older generation throw some shapes on the dance floor.
Hilarious! ;D

I vote for Peridot's proposal as the Best Ever Dynasty Proposal yet! It was hilarious. Great job Rachel.

Thank you all for the comments. Mick is only five days younger then Peridot's dad so the next few Sims weeks could be tense.
Hopefully Jerod will die first paving the way for Peridot and Mick to bring in generation seven. Right now Jerod is about a week from elderhood. So by my reckoning even if he is a long lived Sim,hopefully not too long,he has at the most five weeks left. Peridot is also around five weeks from becoming an elder. So lets all hope and pray that Peridot does not enter into haghood before her father dies. Also lets hope Mick manages to stay alive long enough to procreate.

A family update.

The four immortals spend their days hanging out and playing gnubb, darts or shuffleboard.

Esk has supermaxed the handy skill, bought her building and property which she has fully upgraded. She has all her portraits done apart from the elder one. She just needs to get up one more level in the inventing career which seems to be taking forever. She has also achieved her LTW of living in the lap of luxury. That was very easy I hadn't collected any of the rents on any of the properties that the family had bought. The rent from pier head beach was almost 100 grand on its own.

Peridot just needs another fifty fish to supermax fishing. She is level seven fishing career. She has completed her LTW for perfect aquarium and she has all her up to date portraits done. Pretty good going for someone who only celebrated her young adult birthday five days ago.

It is birthday time in the Smith house once again.

Voice:Happy birthday Jerod.
Jerod:Thank you voice
Voice:So,Jerod how many handy skill points do you have.
Jerod:None why?
Voice:Its the television it needs fixing.
Jerod:Don't you think that is a bit dangerous letting someone with no skill points mess around with electrics.
Voice:Yeah I suppose plus I am pretty sure its against the challenge rules to encourage your death in any way.
Jerod:You want to kill me.
Voice:As if I would no of course I am not. Yours will be a natural and painless end.
Jerod:Good to hear it.
Voice:Just try and make it as sooner rather then later if you can please.
Jerod:Urm
Voice:Are you sure you don't want to go blow something up with Esk?
Jerod:(backing away)

Esk also had a birthday. She looks slightly apprehensive.

She aged up looking pretty good for an old lady. But we still needed to send her to the mirror and dresser.

Looking good Esk!

She's very elegant for someone that has spent her youth digging around in the junkyard, blowing things up, and hammering metal bits into new inventions!

Great update, Rachel.

For some reason in my dynasty last night all the lights in the house stopped working including the Christmas tree. I ended up having to replace them all. Does anyone have any idea why that happened.

In other dynasty related news, both Peridot and Mick popped up the wish to have their first child at one and the same time. I thought it was so sweet almost as if they had been talking about it together.I felt so guilty that I couldn't let them have their wish yet due to the house being full.

I can't answer WHY it happens, Rachel, but to fix it just click on a light and instruct it to turn on all lights and set the intensity next.  You can light one light, one room, or all lights.  It happens to me frequently.

Another terrific update.

What?  Grannies can't play games?

A very short update.I have been playing a lot but nothing much worth reporting is happening with my little family.

Now to the untrained eye this looks like yet another fishing picture. But it is so much more then that. This my friends is Peridot supermaxing fishing! All she has left to do bar her portraits is to travel two more rungs up the career ladder and she is ambrosia ready. As she hasn't actually reached her adult birthday yet I feel quite pleased with her.

Esk achieves immortality.

Mick achieves a bulbous nose and large ears. Welcome to elderhood Mick Smith.

Now this is where things could get tense. Jerod is currently 78,Mick is 72. Peridot is 2 days from her adult birthday which gives her realistically at the most 20 days of potential fertility. So Jerod has to die by the time he is 98 so that Peridot and Mick can reproduce. Lets just hope Mick manages to live longer then Jerod.

The socks and high heels just cracks me up.  Looks like things are moving right along and I'll soon be saying farewell to another story I love.  (sniffs and reaches for tissue)  I really love the way you write.

Peridot should have all of her adulthood to become pregnant. In the Sims 2, your female had to have 3 adult days left for the pregnancy but this does not seem to be true in the Sims 3, now their adulthood is extended during their pregnancy and they age up soon after giving birth.

But, in any case, good luck with getting your next generation!

Thanks everyone!

@Lillygirl my main worry is that Mick dies before Jerod. If Jerod lives to 97 and Mick dies at 91 then it is game over. There is only six days between them so it could be a close one.
