Sides of Stairs not even with walls
« on: September 14, 2014, 01:35:38 AM »
Is it just me or are the sides of stairs not even with walls? The only way I found to fix is to place a wall down the side of the step. Which I dislike cause then railings can't be viewed.

No, I've noticed it too.

Yep, that's pretty much what my stairs like like too. Funny thing is that I'm sure that is not what stairs looked like before the first update. Could be wrong though...

I thought the floating stairs without the walls on the side were really odd looking! But this just takes the cake lol.

Maybe it's to stop the stairs bleeding through to the other side of the wall like it used to do sometimes.

I usually sledgehammer the walls under the stairs for more room. I've fit a single bookcase and comfy chair for reading in one house and a single computer desk and chair in another house.

I like putting those tall floor-to-ceiling kitchen cabinets in the gap, kinda looks like built-in under-stair storage!

I like it better with no walls.

Odd note to this of sticking things under the steps. I thought I would be clever and jam a bathroom in their. I kept having my sims get embarassed eventually I caught what would happen. People would walk past the steps and do the walked in on action. So stairs do not give you privacy lol.

Have any of you who have placed items under the stairs, (with walls removed), had your Sims climb the stairs?  In TS3 you had to be very careful what you put under stairs because your Sims would refuse to climb the stairs acting like something was in the way.

I used the floating type stairs in my Desert Delight house and have something under each set of stairs. Sims can go up and down all three set without issue.
