Saving lots
« on: October 12, 2010, 04:16:15 PM »
Was hoping somebody would clarify something for me. I want to save my vacation homes as lots (not households) so that when I move my family to Twinbrook I can place their vacation lot (I've been told that when you move worlds the vacation homes reset to original). Basically I spent some time re-doing the vacation homes so when I move I want to be able to bulldoze the reseted lot and place my lot.

So, how do you save lots that you have created (that are owned by the house you are playing) without saving the household?

I'm not sure it's possible to save just the lot in this situation.  In Edit Town, you can select your lot and save it, but it will only give you the option to save it with the family.  The only other option would be to kick out your family before you try to save it.

That question needs to be asked on the World Adventure Board.

Saving Houses/Lots

1.) In Edit Town Mode click the house/lot you want to save.
-- A little house/lot description pop-up menu will appear.
2.) Click the Share button (Looks like half a star with an arrow pointing at it.)
-- It will pop up with a message letting you know - Current interactions for all Sims in your town will be cancelled if you do this. (Save/Share) Continue?
3.) Click the check mark.
-- Look over the Share info - Item name and Item Description, make sure it's to your liking.
4.) Click the check mark.
-- A pop up Share message will appear. -- Share - Export Successful! Open Launcher to upload and share.

Notes:

You will find your saved house/lot (.Sims3Pack) file in the Electronic Arts/Sims 3/Exports folder. You can back it up into another folder, or onto cd/dvd from there as well.
