Sorry I haven't updated in a while, it's been a crazy week and haven't had much/any play time.  Hoping to remedy that this weekend, and maybe pick up a copy of the new expansion.  We'll see...

Now back to the Annan Family...

Phillip spent a great deal of time painting, and when he wasn't painting he was playing his guitar.

His sister, Fern, spent all her time playing the guitar and chatting with co-workers.

Scenes like this, just make me sad.  Poor Finn.  Consoling himself with yet another video game marathon.  I had to take care of it.

A little Zip, a little Zap, and he was good to go.

Daisy, the youngest of the Annan sisters spends most of her free time working out.  She's determined to be an International Super Spy, we'll see if she succeeds before Mark turns into a YA.

Mark and Phillip spend quite a bit of time painting together.  I've never commanded Mark to paint, but he always seems to end up at the canvas.

Finn is hard at work on his latest novel.  He's 95 days old now, and I doubt he'll make it lvl 10 of the journalism track like he wants, but I'm trying to get him as far as I can.

I've even had him do a few interviews, the maids are always willing to dish the dirt.

Fawn aged up from YA to Adult.  She's completed her LTW of becoming a CEO of a Mega Cooperation.

And after this late night session of guitar playing, Phillip finally completed his LTW of becoming a Master of the Arts.

Lots of work and no play for the Annan's.

And time is running short on their goals!

Mark has become a Teen.  :)

As it stands I've completed Serena's LTW to have a Perfect Mind, Perfect Body.  I've moved her in with the Annan family by marrying Philip.  They had a kid, Mark.  And I've completed Philip and Fawn's LTW's.  Mark just needs to grow up to be a YA and then he'll be able to move in with his next family.  Meanwhile, I'm going to try and focus on completing Fern & Daisy's LTW's, and hopefully Finn's too if he lives long enough.  Point Total: 3

Yeah, I was noticing that.  Only problem is that there is only one Caliente left, and she's an elder.  Since her sister has already passed away I'm guessing she doesn't have much time left in this world.  So maybe that family will end up fading out of existence before he turns YA.  We shall see. :)

I have a similar situation with my Alphabetical Townie game. I started in Bridgeport, and the town is full of single adults and elders, which does make things more challenging. Tiara Angelista, the starting sim, reached her lifetime wish with 4 days to go until her elder birthday (she started as ya with 21 days to go until adult). The guy that she married from the next household in line is already 90 days old :o . They now live in a 3-bedroom apartment with his two roomies and the girlfriend of one of the roomies, where the youngest of the 5 is 5 days before their elder birthday. The heir is on the way, and I have sent the newlyweds to China for their honeymoon so they still have a bit of time together, but how things will play out in that apartment and what household will be next in line when the heir grows up I have no idea. Currently the next few households are all elders already, so will most likely not be around by the time the next move comes up.

By the way, did you impose any rules on your game regarding moving extra sims in or out of the family? Like I mentioned, when I moved my sim into the new place, one of the three roomies that shared the apartment already had his girlfriend living with him, so it is extremely crowded, and will be more so when the baby is born. Also, what are you doing with the loose cash your family has when the heir is about to move? Tiara and her mom had almost 50k in household funds, plus a ton of celebrity gift furniture in the family inventory that they had no use for. I was considering buying stuff like laptops and instruments to have her take them with her and sell for some starting cash, but decided against it because her current film star job pays a lot of money anyway. I did take all of their books though, including a dozend that her mom wrote while I played them, as well as all the relics, insects, gems etc. they collected while i played.

Yup, I ran into exactly the same issue when I was playing this ruleset in Bridgeport.  The second house is indeed VERY crowded!  Not even enough beds to sleep in.  Seriously, why does EA think it's cool to have a family with 4 people move into a place with 1 bed?  So messed up!  Certainly adds some interesting challenges that's for sure.

The households will naturally change a lot over time, with neighbors aging up and passing away by the second generation.

There is no rule against purchasing items that can be carried and then selling them once you get to the next house.  But in most cases money is probably not going to be an issue.  Sure, your next house might be poor, but by then you'll be bringing a pretty advanced Sim into the house who usually can make enough for everyone.  Not to mention you'll usually have more than one working Sim.  When I played the Angelistas Tiara only brought a laptop with her into the next household, but the new house had about 5k cash on hand, so it wasn't a problem.  The roommates annoy me though.  I am VERY tempted to just boot them out, but rules are rules!  I'll probably just let them run around on free will doing whatever they like while I focus on the heir and the new dad.

Yup, she does, but by the time I was ready to move into the Annan house she had just aged up to a YA.

I just read your story from start to finish. Its such an interesting concept that I'm booting up the game to try it for myself right now (I play in windowed mode). I'll probably play in Riverview since I haven't before.

This legacy was a great idea Aria!
Just wondering, what would happen if the family next in line were all elders and died before a lifetime wish was completed (lots of townies are not in the right job, or at all skilled)? Would it mean the end of the legacy?

No, it wouldn't be the end of the Legacy if that were to happen, you just wouldn't get a point for that particular Sim.  If your Heir were to marry into a family with only Elder family members the best thing to do would be to either adopt right away or have a baby, and then the baby would need to age up into a YA AND complete their LTW before moving on to the next house.  It would certainly be tough, but it would be possible.

Well, it's been over 60 days since I've updated this thread.  Yikes!  Just goes to show that sometimes RL takes over and takes you for a wild ride before you can get back to doing things you enjoy.

I brought out the Abe-Annan family for a bit to see what they've been up to.

To be honest, I only started playing them again because my video card was having issues and I didn't want to take screen shots of the Nesbits with poor quality screen shots.  So the first few pics aren't going to be that great, sorry about that.

For those of you who haven't read this before and have no clue what I'm doing, read the first post on page 1.

A birthday seems like a good place to start, Mark Abe-Annan has aged up to a young adult!

Now to get him ready to move on to his new home, except that he can't yet because his house is full and you can't get the "get married" social if there's not enough room in the house.  But no worries, the oldest family member in the house is 115 days old so he should kick the bucket any day now.

In preparation, Mark gave his mom a goodbye hug.

And then he headed straight to Nina Calentine's house.  Fortunately, Nina was home.

Mark made his move.

Then he went to town to buy a logic book.  When he aged up he picked the LTW of becoming a CSI Investigator or whatever that police/art LTW is.

While he was in town he ran into his cousin, they look a lot alike, which is kind of fun.  Thankfully Mark didn't get his cousin's nose.

Mark got to work on his logic skill.  Since he has some time to kill before he makes his move he might as well work on his LTW.

The next day Mark went over to Nina's house, things were going well, so he asked to spend the night.  Unfortunately some other fellow showed up and spoiled the party.  Nina couldn't keep her hands off the other guy and it made Mark pretty upset.

Since Nina has the hot headed trait, trying to make up with her was pretty difficult.

Mark decided to go home.

When he got there his baby sister was having her birthday, so he's glad he skipped out on his not-so-awesome girlfriend.

The following day Nina showed up at the Annan house completely uninvited.  How rude!

Mr. Annan Sr. greeted Nina at the door and asked if she'd like to come in.  At this point Mr. Annan is 120 days old.  Will this guy EVER die???

Maybe it's for the best.  Maybe it will prevent Mark from marrying Nina!  Maybe... just maybe... Nina will die first!  And then what?  And then where will Mark move?

One of Mark's Aunt's aged up to Elder.  The house is quickly filling with gray hair.

Maybe one of them will kick the bucket before Mr. Annan Sr.

Mark decided to switch into Piratey garb.  This IS Buchaneer Bay after all.

And then he went to work.

Home again, Arrrr... I see a starrrr...

"No one's dead yet?  Where's the bar, I need a drink."

"Hey Gramps, how you feelin' today?  Good?  Ok, I'll check back with you tomorrow then."

"Hurray!  Another Birthday!  More gray hairs!  Where's Grimm when you need him???"

And then it happened, Nina kicked the bucket!   Woot!  Mark was saved from marrying a mean spirited hag.

But now what?
