No Craft an instrument option on woodworking table
« on: September 06, 2014, 05:49:19 PM »
I don't remember what level it was on handiness but there was a pop up that said I could now Craft an Instrument on the woodworking table. But when I click on it there is no option for that. And my sim just got a whim to craft an instrument.
I can make several furniture pieces and sculptures but nothing for an instrument. Has anyone been able to do this?

I had a similar thing happen with the telescope. I had a whim to "search for the truth" and there was no option available in that until my Sim became very focused, rather than just focused. Maybe it's the same with the woodworking bench, you have to be in a certain emotional state to have the option.

I guess that could be. If that's the case I wonder what I need.

Working on the woodworking table give him a buff that adds to Focus. I bought several item to add to focus and got him to Very Focused and still no option to craft an instrument. Maybe I need a different emotion or it's just bugged.

I find that the Inspired emotion tends to spawn Whims that are creative related (like buy an instrument).  So maybe Inspired will work.

Your Sim needs to have skill levels in the instrument you want to craft, at least for violin and guitar. I don't know if you can craft pianos.

I do not know what level in the instrument you need to have, yet, but I'll update when I figure it out.

That's probably the problem then. Those are some of the skills my sim hasn't gotten to yet. Might have to side track some of the other skills and work on instruments first.
This is going to be my super sim. He's maxing all skills and getting level 10 in all jobs. If I can do it. :D
Kind of a Sims 4 version of Max Skills or Rosetta Stone.

You need level 8 in Violin or Guitar in order to craft instruments. If you can craft pianos, I haven't figured out how.
