Abnormal relations in my sims
« on: October 08, 2010, 12:53:51 PM »
So.. i have a family where father and son lives together on their own and mother and daughter does the same. I noticed my daughter can have a romantic relationship with her brother if i choose her to do so, in other words incest. I am 100% percent sure i have no mods that allow it, i even doublechecked my modfiles and tested if my mom character could have incest relationship too and even made a test family with brother/daughters etc to test but no success. Its only this one pair in my game that can have incest relationship, well... its obviously some sort of small bug but still.  :P

Creepy. Did this by any chance begin AFTER your Sims went on vacation?

I've noticed the game seems to think Sims that aren't in the same household aren't in the same family.  For example, when my Sim's father died, she wasn't affected at all by it because he didn't live in the same household.

I don't know if that's a bug or by design, but it's a lot different than in real life!  Usually parents' deaths are a very traumatic event (assume they aren't totally estranged...)

I was just going to say, your family tree probably shows they are not even related, so they do not know they are father and daughter.  That was why I quit my first dynasty and now I am not traveling in my dynasty I am doing now.  Unfortunately there is no workaround and most of us have experienced it in our games. :)

I just actually looked at the picture up close and saw that it did say "brother".  That is a new one on me, after vacation, mine said "best friend".  I see what you are saying now. That is creepy.

There are some gags best left untouched.  I wish I had that kind of self-control.  They do say that vacationing in other lands "broadens your mind".  No doubt they wish now they hadn't cooked using the mushrooms they picked in China.

Electronic Arts really needs to address this issue.  Under normal circumstances, Sims cannot have romantic interactions with family members.  If it's not a mod, it has to be a bug.  I'm going to change the title of this thread so that we don't draw a bunch of unwanted visitors from the internet.
