How Do You Delete Old Save Files?
« on: September 06, 2014, 04:31:35 AM »
Does anyone know how to delete all those old save files? I have now started 5 new games and I don't need to keep them. The save folder doesn't look anything like TS3 so I haven't a clue what to keep/delete  ::)
While it's not really an issue now I can see that in a few weeks/months or so my game is probably going to get bogged down.

I had my ts3 save folder look like this too sometimes. Just sort the files by date and time, all files that have the same date and time belong to the same savefile. Delete all files with the same date and you have deleted a whole savefile.

I don't know about deleting the actual files on your computer via Windows Explorer, but you can delete the save files in the game itself.

Up in the top right corner in the main menu there should be a little plus sign for a new save file and right next to that a little save icon called, "Load Save".

Click the "load save" icon, and if you hover your mouse over one of the listed save files a little "x" should show up on the right side of the listing. Click that "x" to delete the save.

Thank you Ellenser for your advice.  I was wondering about this also as in My Library I had 3 of the same person showing ☼

Does this take them out of the actual computer files?

Do you lose your created Sims doing this or are they saved in a different file?
What?  Grannies can't play games?

I don't know Joria because I didn't delete all of them from within the game, all  I do know is the 'Save Folder' has many files in it and they all seem to be called different things  :-\ Too many to go through and try to delete by timeframe.
Fingers crossed someone comes up with an easy way of clearing out the save-file folder because I'm too confused to figure it all out!

I would assume it would take them out of the actual computer files.

I don't see how you would lose your created Sims unless you deleted all of the files that contained them (including the gallery if you saved them there).
