Fishing up odd Things
« on: September 06, 2014, 04:15:37 AM »
My sim has been fishing in Sylvan Glade and caught quite a few potions. When she drank one it just gave the message that it was disgusting. Has anyone had a different outcome? She also has caught a few decor items that weren't very valuable.

I fished up some repair parts. It's surprising how fast fishing levels too.

My Sim fished up an apple, repair parts and I think she once fished up a log or tree branch but she threw that back.

Thanks for the replies.  :) I guess I'll keep fishing and see if I can get a 'good' potion so I can check out it's effect.

Is anyone using fishing as a career? I have a Sim who fishes for a living, pretty much. I think his skill is already up to Level 5. His sister is a gardener.

I started with a sim who fished and gardened for a living, but I've become quite frustrated with gardening so I've swapped households.

Sort of. I have a Sim who doesn't have a career (okay, he's just a teen currently, but I don't plan on him having a career even when he is a YA) and just does fishing as his "job", though I also have a much more reliable stream of income coming into the household so I don't need to rely on fishing.

How is the payoff for fishing? I've only fished at a few spots near my house or in the main parks of the game, and the fishing skill is only around level 5 or so and my Sim is making no where near enough to make fishing a living currently. I imagine as I level up and find better fishing spots the money will be higher, but I don't know how it is in comparison to other careers.

I couldn't make enough to keep up with the bills and support the lifestyle that I wanted for my sims. If your happy with the basics pretty much it would be ok but I was too impatient for a lifestyle of the rich and famous  ;)
