Can you get raises after reaching level 10 in a career?

My sim reached level 10 of the Astronaut career and his progress meter has been on the far right for a few sim days. I was wondering if you are suppose to get raises after reaching level 10 of a career like you did in Sims 3.

I was at level 10 of artist (real) for literally game-weeks and never saw a raise. I had my promotion bar full for work (always did my homework of painting enough). I often took thoughtful showers before work to be inspired or very inspired. Needs managed quite well. Didn't matter.

I just quit the job recently -- the interruption to the day was more of a nuisance than the 2400 I was getting, that's just a couple of the paintings. I can do that in no time.

So from my sample size of one, no raise.

Thanks for the reply's. Sounds like there's no raises after maxing a career in The Sims 4. I just wanted to  make sure it wasn't a bug on my end or just part of the game.

You can't get raises after level 10 in the career, but if you have Charisma at level 10, you can [once every day?] call your boss to ask for a raise. That still won't give you a raise, but you get some simoleons from it.

As Naga, said you call your boss and ask for a rise, it doesn't always work and you can do it at any charisma level, but like with most things the higher your level the better your chances.

I think you can only do it once a week or once every couple of days, I've not seen the option come up each day.

I knew about the calling your boss. I use it when it pops up. But it's not asking for a raise it's negotiating for a bonus so it doesn't effect you hourly wage, just a little extra for a job well done.

That's pretty much it. The only way to make extra money after career level 10 is painting, woodshop, collecting, etc.

I'm playing one that took the music profession and right now he's at a skill level 5 of the piano and can do jingles.  He makes anywheres from 200 - 500S with a rare no sale.  But then again he built himself his own place that left only 209S in his pocket but he's been paying the bills and manages to be happy most of the time.  But yea I'll admit even if you maintain your rank 10 job and do whatever you can for side money it's still going to take a good while to move up into an upper scale neighborhood.  I think after he hits 10 I think I'm going to start up a new game and check out one of the ingame families.

I know this topic was a long time ago but you can get raises now. A sim of mine reached level 10 of the detective career and has already gotten 2 raises after that. His career is now listed as Chief +2.

the raise is quite a pity by the way if you consider how hard you need to work to get it.

There is a mod on MTS which improves that in a not breaking game and make keeping a career progress beyond 10 still interesting.

Yeah +$10 raise for every "promotion" is quite a pity considering normally you can only get promoted every two days. You can push it to be everyday if you can time your delay in hacking / asking for raise / make connection, but even that is not worth it. Ever since they make career easier (by easier I mean the jobs requirement is reduced only to Skilling), they tried to "balance" it out by having career progress longer.

This is indeed a very old thread that was resurrected. The patch that gave us the ability to super max our careers was patch version 1.5.139.10.20 and it came out on 25th March 2015. You can follow the link to read more details.

I once reached +100 at a career, so you could easily get raises after reaching level 10, (I didn't let them do anything except work until they retired).

My super chef is still working because what else can a dynasty founder do?  AND she keeps getting raises.
