At what age do you find you Sims hardest to handle?
« on: October 08, 2010, 09:14:45 AM »
I find that I can handle my Sims really well as babies and toddlers, but when they become children they need so much more!
I find it hard to keep their grades up, without letting their social bar drop down too far, or without them getting too stressed.
You'd think I'd be used to it after popping about 10-12 kids out per sim :D

Which age do you find them hardest to keep happy?

I find the elder stage hard, its almost like I run out of things for them to do. My elders are generally left to fend for themselves.

Babies and toddlers; they can't cook for themselves, they can't go to the bathroom by themselves (at least newly aged toddlers) etc. Children can do all that, they don't need baby-sitting 24/7. ;)

To me, the more dependent they are, the harder I find them.  Babies are the hardest because they can't deal with any of their own needs.  Then toddlers, because they can't feed themselves or put themselves to bed.  After they age up to child and can do everything themselves, it gets much easier.

You don't need to wait till your toddler needs to go before you potty train them. You can potty train a toddler right after he has been on the potty. I usually just get someone to repeat the potty train action four times in a row and that is it job done.
I think that is the easiest skill to teach toddlers

I don't like raising babies and toddlers.  They just need too much attention. My Sims may not have any more babies until Late Night comes out and I can have a butler.

Babies and Toddlers are the worst for me.  I'm currently working on an 'auto-pilot' baby-raising system in my dynasty involving a basement and a very stressed out parent ;)

I was wondering how you and Metro were going to handle babies in the dynasty and heaven forbid, if either of you have twins, lol.

I usually keep the elders working right up until it is almost their time, because it is still fulltime.  I like all aspects of the ages and I don't think anyone is really too much harder than the other, but if it was my choice, the triplets are challenging, but alot of fun, you have to get into a routine and once you can get organized, it is not really a problem.  I have been like Pam, I have had two sets of triplets at a time and it is not the easiest, but I enjoyed it. :)

Toddlers and kids!  I'm way too lazy to keep up with them.

I'm not as bad as I use to be with kids. My parenting chops have definitely been kicked up another notch after Baby Boomer II. If you have a parent with the Family-Oriented trait, and a Toddler is in a Very Happy/Elated mood, then skilling for the Toddler goes pretty quick. I'll probably give many of my Dynasty immortal's spouses a Mid-Life Crisis just to get the FO trait. And Neat too.

My sims have had so many children, that I'm used to juggling their personal lives along with taking care of toddlers and babies.
Inviting friends over, and calling the babysitter up make it a lot easier too.

With children, they have so much they need to do, but they don't have much tolerance for loneliness.

I find Children the hardest, Toddlers and Babies are easy. I just find the fact that Children can skill suddenly and they have Homework, School they have to make friends and bleurg. I spend most of my time controlling children in a household if there are any.

I think I would say babies are the hardest because if you look and see they have a low bladder you can`t do anything about it. You have to wait till the bar drops to the bottom.

I would say toddlers and children but I love to play both of them anyways. Although it has been a while since I have played either since I have been working on challenges and none of them require babies but the next one does so I am a little excited to get back to them.

I don't think any of the stages are more difficult than the others, but Elder is my least favorite.  I don't like when they get hunched over and wrinkly.  I change their hair color back to it's normal color, so the gray isn't a problem.  I don't like the clothes for Elders, either.  And waiting for Grim to show up has me on pins and needles as they get close to 90.  Child and Teen aren't so bad when you get a routine established.  It's a little boring, though, because of school and homework.  It's been decades since I've had either, so I don't really relate to it anyway.  ;D
