My female sim gardener also majorly bulked up. Yuk! After reading these posts I just used cheats, took her back into CAS and the muscle slider was right up at the top. So I slid it right down and made her a bit skinnier. So far she hasn't bulked back up so maybe it is a glitch. She doesn't over-eat so it wasn't food that made her all bulky. Her traits are Loves the Outdoors, Self-Assured, Geek, and her aspiration is Freelance Botanist.
I also tried making her jog all the time (before I took her back to CAS) and that really didn't do anything, if anything that seemed to make her even bigger.
I'm going to start and new game file tomorrow to see if it will happen again.

Yes, this sounds identical to my problem!  I did slim her down in CAS and so far she hasn't regained the muscles *crosses fingers*  Perhaps it is just some weird gardener sim bug?

Mine as well.  She's also a foodie who doesn't find enough time to exercise, so who knows which is the issue? I'm going to try giving her the Insta-Lean LTR after she's had a baby.

When I first read this thread, I thought, "what is the OP talking about? My Gardener/Foodie is still slim and doesn't seem to have muscles, and she's almost completed all the goals for stage 2 botanist." And then, when I was about halfway through stage 3 botanist, I started thinking she was showing those gourmet meals. Then when I zoomed in, I realized that it was muscles, not fat. So I need to apologize to the OP and the rest of you, because I've got the same issue.  ???

I suppose I can see, in a very theoretical way, how lots of gardening could tone those muscles - lifting that watering can, pulling those weeds, reaching up into those trees for harvestables...but I wouldn't have expected it. And it doesn't count towards athletic. I was wondering if the treadmill would help slim her down, but I haven't done enough to make an impact - and Sims 4 doesn't seem to have the distinctions of cardio and strength the way Sims 3 did.

My gardener has the traiits - loves the outdoors, creative and cheerful.  Her aspiration is Freelance Botanist. She has also become really musclebound. At first, I just gave her a few different outfits that covered her arms and legs, but the outfit I like most has short sleeves and when she wears that, it looks horrible. She has also put on a decent amount of weight, she isn't huge, but she started out quite petite.
So to remind someone who isn't used to bringing a sim into cas with cheats... how do I do that?

Once you have opened up the Cheat Console by pressing Control + Shift + C.

Then type the  command 'cas.fulleditmode ' .

Then shift click on your sim and take the 'modify in full cas mode'.  I think that is what it says from memory. You can't edit a sims body shape etc unless you use the cheats console.

A warning about this cheat, people on the official forum have reported that this can mess up the relationships in your sims family (like parent and child becoming just roommates) so unless you have a single sim or sims that are just roommates, use with caution.

thanks, I was just trying to edit her in CAS after just typing testingcheats on... but that only let me edit her clothes and not her body.

It's ok, she was a single sim. She's back to normal now. She had gone from musclebound to just plain fat. When I edited her, the muscle slider was all the way to the top and the fat slider was about half way. Hope she doesn't go that way again.

I had the same thing happen to my sims who loves music, she danced her way to hulk status. I think this is a bug they will have to address in a patch, the muscle gain is super fast for almost no effort. My sim danced for 1 sim hour!

My gardener Sim also got fat.  I really didn't notice till I caught a glimpse of a rather pronounced derriere.  Sent her to the gym and worked her hard and she slimmed down some but also put on some muscle.  The amount of effort in the gym wasn't worth the amount of weight loss and to have to gain more muscle mass was not acceptable.

I had my mixologist sim run around the neighborhood picking about a dozen plants, and she was rather ripped when it all was done.  A few days of not picking anything more and she reverted from brick-house to cozy-bungalo again.  Obviously that's not an option for gardeners, but at least it shows that there is some decay to the fitness meter.

Good point Echo, there definitely is some decay to the fitness meter but only once you've leveled up quite a few levels can you really make use of it. My sim at level 5 or 6 fitness could use the treadmill and slim right down after just one session. He went from very muscly to slim. But, like you say, pretty difficult to use that as an option for a gardener.

Just imagine what this poor foodie gardener Sim looks like in her third trimester.  You'll see when I post the second story chapter.  Insta-lean potion for sure!

So once a sim gains enough fitness skill it becomes more useful/you can choose have them trim down. Makes a weird kind of sense...

Yeah, I haven't tested this in a serious way but my chef sim is chubby and getting chubby by the day. She's only level 3 in fitness and going on the treadmill doesn't change her shape. My other sim is level 5 fitness and like I said, one session on the treadmill really slims him down, muscles and all.

My sim also looks like a body builder. She became pregnant and she was huge! during the third trimester of pregnancy. After she had the baby she still was quite chubby.
To make her lose weight I let her run around the neighbourhood. That seemed to do the trick. But after she was thin again (BTW, she is also a gardner) she started to get some serious muscles. I was thinking it was because of the running, but now I also think it may have something to do with the gardening.
I am trying to trim her down again, so I stopped running. But she still tends the garden. It has been about 4 simday to a week and she is still as muscular as in the beginning. So I'm gonna try that potion soon, or the cheats. I'd rather not use any cheats, but I guess I have to if I want her to look normal again :P the other sims in my household (husband and kid) look fine. they don't gain weight or anything.
My sim started to have problems with her body shape after her pregancy. No idea if it has something to do with it, but who knows. It's all a bit strange to me.
