Hey everyone!  This is my second attempt at a Lifestates Dynasty (I did complete one already) and I'm shooting for Hall of Fame this time.  I'm not as far as I was when I started the Sakura's (and there's those things called college and work that are in the way too...), so chapters may not be as frequent, but I hope that you enjoy the story  ;D

Prologue

Once upon a time, there was a fairy princess who lived in the far, far away world called Monte Vista.  She lived there happily with her father, the King, and her mother, the Queen.  As she grew older, her parents told her that it would one day be her responsibility to take over the kingdom, but only the kingdom of the Fairies, since she was Fae herself.  The other kingdoms of the other supernaturals were governed by one of their own kind.  It had been that way for as long as anyone could remember.  But why it was that way, separate kingdoms instead of one, no one really knew.

Now of age, the Princess was finally invited to sit in on one of the meetings between the kingdoms.  The leaders from the different kingdoms would come to the King and Queen's palace to discuss matters, conflicts, treaties and more.  Despite the separation between the kingdoms, they seemed to all live peacefully-for the most part besides the odd skirmish here and there-in the sun bathed hills of Monte Vista.  This was a fact that the Princess brought to the attention of her father.

"Why can't we all live peacefully together in one kingdom?" She had asked the King. "We all live together in Monte Vista, yet we seem to be worlds away.  If all of us can get along, is it that hard to fathom that our respective kingdoms can to?"

"Live peacefully?  Together?" The King repeated.

The King looked around the table at his fellow leaders.

"Pardon me, Princess, but I don't think that's possible," The Queen of the Werewolves spoke up.
"Why not?" The Princess asked.
"We are all just far too different," The Queen of the Werewolves explained.

"I mean, can anyone honestly imagine us all living together in one kingdom?" She continued.
"I am inclined to agree with you," The King agreed.

"I'm not so sure," The Queen spoke up. "I think it is possible,"

The King was surprised at his wife's words.
"Really, Esmeralda?" He questioned. "Please explain yourself."
"Do you not remember hearing stories of alliances and peace between the kingdoms in the history books as we were growing up?" The Queen said. "As a Fairy, I have been around a long time.  In fact, longer than you, Ryan.  I remember as a young child, hearing stories from my parents and grandparents on how our kingdoms were one, not many.  I think our daughter is right.  I think it is possible."

The King thought about the Queen's words.  He had always known her to be a wise woman.  She had always ruled her kingdom fairly and justly in her many years as Queen of the Fae.  As much as he questioned that unity could work, the King did secretly believe that it was possible, even if the possibility was miniscule.  After all, he, the King of the Humans, and Esmeralda, the Queen of the Fae, were married and had been for quite some time.  And they were happy at that.

The King looked around the table.
"Alright, I have heard from the Fairies and from the Werewolves on this matter." He said. "I would like to hear from the remainder of the supernaturals present today,"
One by one, the leaders from the different kingdoms expressed their thoughts on the matter.  The King listened quietly to each leader's opinion.

When all that was going to be said was said, the King addressed his daughter:
"It seems that all of the kingdoms are doubtful, but willing, to give peace a chance." He told her. "However, one thing we do agree on is that we need to test this peace before we make any major decisions."
"Test the peace?" The Princess repeated. "Test it how?"
"A dynasty," The Queen of the Werewolves said. "Prove that our different kinds can live together by completing a number of different of different tasks.  You complete those tasks and we'll know that it is not just a fluke,"
"But why me?" The Princess asked.
"It was your idea," The King explained. "And it is your regal duty,"
The Princess let out a breath.
"I will do it." She said. "I will take this task, and complete it, because it is my regal duty."
"Very good." The King said.

The meeting was adjourned and the King and Queen escorted the Princess out of the palace.  It was outside of the meeting that the Princess and the Queen realized the gravity of the situation.

The King sensed the uncertainty from both ladies and addressed his daughter.

"This will not be easy," He began. "But I believe you can do it.  Your mother and I-a human and a fairy-have lived harmoniously for years, so anything is possible.  Make us proud."

"I guess I have to leave now," The Princess said.

She gave her parents a goodbye hug before setting off on her journey.

My name is Princess Andromeda Rigel and I am embarking on a Lifestates Dynasty.  All I can say is: me and my big mouth.

Thanks, everyone!  Chapter 1, coming right up  ;D

Chapter 1- Shock to the System

My name is Princess Andromeda Rigel, but I my friends and family call me Andi.

(It may be hard to see, but Andi has purple highlights)

I have been chosen to embark on a special quest known as a Lifestates Dynasty.  Thinking back, I realize the reason I was chosen for this stems from two things: one, I am a Princess and it is my regal duty to my people and two, because I said out loud what seemed like a good idea at the time.  Me and my big mouth.  I mean, is it really that hard to fathom that possibility of peace between our kingdoms?  All of the leaders from the different kingdoms can all get along fairly well at our meetings, so why can't the people get along too?  Well, it was now up to me to prove that peace was possible.  I couldn't fail.  I just couldn't.  Because if I did, I feared what would happen to the kingdoms...

I really did not want to think about that.  So, instead, I turned my attention to my new home.  Well, vacant lot.  Growing up in a castle, with maids and cooks and butlers and all that really made this a shock to the system.

I do have to admit I already missed my big sparkly castle with all its plush amenities and luxuries.

But with a little can-do attitude, I was going to have this place up and running in no time!

With the little money I was allowed to take with me, I put together a nice little place for myself.  It's not too bad, if I do say so myself.

The best part was, it was purple-my favorite color.

Now just because I no longer lived in my castle, didn't mean I wasn't still able to be chauffeured around, even if just by a taxi.

My first order of business was to get a job.  I spent countless hours hanging around the kitchen, enjoying the smells of the various delicious meals that our chefs would create for us, so I decided that a job at the restaurant might be fun.

Of course, having chefs cook for me all of my life meant that I had no cooking skill.  Thankfully, they hired me anyway and I swear that it had nothing to do with the fact that I was the Princess of the Fae.  At least that's what I told myself as I headed over to the library.  When I got to the library, I met some of the people from the different kingdoms.  This nice man was named Camillo Mancini.

I spent some time reading some cook books so I could brush up on my cooking skill before my first day on the job.

I only got a skill or two in when I was interrupted by my phone ringing.  It was my boss calling me for a chat.  How thoughtful!

I left the library shortly afterward and made a quick trip to the grocery store.  I wanted to purchase some seeds and start a garden.  As a fairy, I had a natural love of gardens and flowers, so I was looking forward to starting my own, even though it only consisted of 4 plants.  That was just temporary.  When I got more money, I would definitely expand it to grow all sorts of fruits and vegetables.

I then headed into the kitchen to make my first home cooked meal: macaroni and cheese.  It wasn't anywhere near the perfection of the delicacies I've had before, but it wasn't half bad.  Plus, cooking was pretty fun!

The only thing I could say was missing was a table...

After cleaning up, I was off to bed.  I survived my first day on my own.  Though I was unsure at the beginning, I now had an inkling that maybe, just maybe, I could pull this off.  The real test will be when I meet some other supernaturals.  But I'll leave that one for another day.

A couple things of note:

I had a great deal of success with custom genetics in my first Lifestates so I decided to give it another shot with Andi.  My first founder had spiceberry eyes and custom red hair.  Either her hair or her eyes carried down in some form, heir or spare, to each generation, which was completely awesome.  Fingers crossed for some cool genetic combos with Andi.

Andi's rolled traits are: Artistic, Brooding, Gatherer, Genius, Natural Chef, Natural Chef (OMG I HIT THE JACKPOT)
Even though she technically doesn't have to complete it, Andi's Lifetime Wish is: Celebrated 5-Star Chef

And I forgot to mention that there shall be a name theme because I love things like that  ;D  Any guesses based off of Andi's name?

Butterfly is correct-I am going with celestial terms.  There will be some mythology names mixed in there since they kind of overlap, so mythology is kind of correct too.

Chapter 2- Rejection

I woke up the next morning and tended to my garden.  I was really happy to see that there were some plants actually sprouting!

I had heard that talking to plants could help them grow, so I decided to give it a try.  I'm not sure if it really made a difference, by my neighbors sure did look at me funny.

Thankfully, I had an excuse to leave since I had to go to work.

I got out of work and headed home to work on my cooking skill.  I decided that I wanted to do the cooking and gardening challenges for my 6 required skill challenges.

Following dinner, I cleaned everything up.

And was quite annoyed when my sink broke.  What was I supposed to do now?

I panicked.  There was no servant that was going to run to my rescue.  I had to figure this one out myself, it appeared.

I grabbed a wrench and played around with the faucets and handles.  Amazingly, I did it.  I fixed my sink!  I was pretty happy that I was able to do something like that.  I had never done anything like that before so it was a pretty great feeling.

Speaking of feeling great, I was feeling really great after I got my first promotion at work!

After leaving work that day, I noticed something was different about one of my coworkers.  Camillo Mancini, it appeared had turned into a vampire.  It also appeared that he was thinking about me, just as I was thinking about him.

I kept thinking about Camillo after I went home.  There had definitely been some attraction between the two of us when we first met in the library a while ago.  Now that he was a vampire, I wondered if it could possibly turn into something more...

I made a decision as I finished my dinner that evening.  I would invite Camillo over the next day and see if those sparks we both felt at our initial meeting were not a fluke.  I quickly cleaned up and went to bed, sort of excited for the next morning.  The next day, I made some waffles and tended to my garden before placing a call to Camillo inviting him over.

Camillo agreed to come over but left immediately after arriving.  He said that he needed to leave, claiming that the sunlight was the problem.  He could have come inside my house if the sunlight was a problem.  I began to wonder, was I the problem?  Was the sunlight just a cover up?

I had to admit, I didn't like this whole rejection thing.  I tried not to dwell on it and headed into town to one of the local nightclubs.  I got there at the perfect time because it was happy hour.

My mind kept reverting back to what happened with Camillo earlier.  Maybe he was telling the truth about the sunlight.  I didn't think anything of it at the time, I mean, it was nearly sunset when I invited him over, but maybe even that bit of sunlight was bothersome to him.

Do I try again?  Do I look for someone else to marry?  These were two of the many questions that swirled around in my head as I finished my drink.

I played some games to clear my head before I returned home.

After a good night's sleep, I woke up the next morning with a clear idea of what I wanted to do about the whole Camillo thing.  But that would need to wait until later.  For now, I headed outside to my garden and was surprised by what I saw.  I had some fresh lettuce ready to be harvested!

I know, right?

Chapter 3- Second Chances

I decided to give Camillo another chance.  I invited him over the next day and he agreed to come over but this time, he stayed.  He didn't run off right away.  I took that as a good sign.

We chatted for a little bit before I decided to throw caution to the wind and try flirting with Camillo.

I was relieved that he accepted my advances this time.  In fact, Camillo suggested that we go on a date and go see a movie tonight.  I agreed and we headed to the nearby theatre to catch a movie.

The movie was great.  Afterward, Camillo and I hung around for a little bit, just chatting and enjoying some time together.  I wanted to see if, perhaps, our friendship could turn into something a little bit more...

I was glad to see that Camillo was on board with it!

Camillo knew I was a princess, but, thankfully, that didn't seem to matter to him.  In fact, he told me that he admired my ambitions to get a job, learn new skills and also to take on this huge challenge.  He said that he would be honored to be by my side and help me with this tremendous task.

I asked him right then and there if he would be my boyfriend.  He said yes.

But it didn't stop there.  I got down on my knee and proposed on the spot.  Again, Camillo said yes!

Camillo brought in a little bit of cash into the household, so we were able to remodel ever so slightly.

One of the new items that we bought was an easel.  Camillo's dream was to be an Illustrious Author so he got started right away on his painting skill.

(I love the fact that vampires snore "V's" instead of "Z's")

Since Camillo was a vampire, he really didn't need to eat regular food.  Instead, I made sure to stock the fridge with a lot of plasma fruit juice and orange plasma fruit juice.

Even though Camillo had a job in the culinary career like I did, it was not what he wanted to do.  He told me that he loved painting and wished be become a professional painter.  I said okay.  He was kind of surprised that I immediately agreed, but was very happy nonetheless.  I got to do what I wanted-in a roundabout way-so I believed that Camillo should be able to pursue his dream.  Here is one of his paintings.  A good start.

While Camillo worked on his painting skill, I continued working on my gardening and cooking skill.  My garden now hosted more than four plants, including some plasma fruit for Camillo.

Even though we were doing a lot of separate skilling, Camillo and I still made time for each other.

A lot of time.

Camillo eventually starting make a pretty good income from his paintings.  The art world starting noticing his obvious talent and quickly promoted him.  Camillo was thrilled.

Despite Camillo standing Andi up on their first get-together in the last chapter, they are such a cute couple.  They are always autonomously flirting/kissing/embracing/romancing each other and always roll wishes for each other.  I think the last couple I had like that would be either Marcos and Rena Sakura or Mizu and Steve Sakura.  They can't keep their hands off each other  ;D

Also, I mentioned this in the newest Sakura Immortals chapter, but the next chapter of Rigel Duty might be delayed because I am having surgery on Thursday.  I should be okay, but fingers crossed for a quick recovery  ;)

Speedy recovery!

Thanks guys  ;D  I appreciate the well wishes.  Like I wrote in the update with the Sakura's, it's a martial arts injury that's been bothering me for the past few months.  At least this gives me a great reason to sit on the couch all day and play The Sims 4!

To say thanks for the well wishes, I wanted to post the next chapter of the Rigel's a day early, so enjoy  :)

Chapter 4- Mission: Stir-Fry

As a Princess, I never really dreamed that I would get to marry such a wonderful man like Camillo.  I often thought I was going to marry someone in royalty.  I mean, sure, I got to pick someone from the eligible royal spouses, but this dynasty, I guess, turned out to be a good thing because Camillo and I really loved each other.  He and I would both gaze happily at our wedding rings throughout the day.

Speaking of Camillo, between our two incomes, we were able to buy some new things for the house.  One of our new pieces of furniture included a dresser.  Camillo exchanged his shorts for some dress pants and got some new shoes.  He kept his shirt because it was his favorite color, red.

And here is the updated house.

As a vampire, Camillo picked up skills extremely quickly.  That made things in the house so much smoother because he was able to fix our appliances when they broke.  Repair duty had to fall to Camillo because I could not risk completing any skill challenges that future heirs may want to do.  Camillo didn't mind.  He liked learning new skills.

Since we did have a little more money in the household, Camillo decided to surprise me one day by hiring a maid.  That may things so much easier on the two of us to have an extra set of hands in the household helping to keep things tidy.

The hiring of the maid came at the perfect time because I soon got a call from my boss in regards to an opportunity.  I needed to take a quick trip to China to pick up a new recipe: stir-fry.  Since I needed to complete three opportunities, I immediately agreed.  I booked the next flight to China.

I had actually been to China a couple of times with my parents so I was happy to return.

One of my favorite parts was the scenery; it was always so stunning.

I headed immediately to the marketplace and bought not only the stir-fry recipe, but the egg rolls recipe too.  I might as well get both since I was here.

I also made a special trip to the food merchant.  I knew from my previous trips that Shang Simla was home to some rare plants that could only be found here.  I picked up some pomelos and some plums to plant in my garden at home.

I only took one day in China, wanting to reserve the number of days I had for travel just in case I needed them in the future.  I bought what I needed and immediately got right back on the plane.  I don't think it even had a chance to leave the airport.  Regardless of how long I was gone, Camillo was happy to see me when I got home.

After that warm welcome, I got straight to work in learning the new recipe.

Camillo continued working on his painting skill while I read my recipe.  He asked me to describe the scenery of Shang Simla, which I did.  When I finished my recipe, I was surprised to see that Camillo had painted this lovely landscape portrait based on my descriptions of Shang Simla.  It was beautiful!

The next day, I headed outside to work on my garden.  It had definitely increased in size now that my gardening skill was up.  I now had access to a variety of new plants, in addition to the rare ones that I picked up in China.

With the increase in the size of my garden came an increase in the amount of time it required to be tended and harvested.  Camillo said that he would help me tend the garden when I came home from work.  I appreciated the help.

As I had seen with my garden, hard work is rewarded and that carried over to my job at the restaurant.  I reached the top of my career and became a celebrated 5-star chef!  That also happened to be my Lifetime Wish so I was pretty proud.

Here is the special fridge I got as a reward for reaching the top of the culinary world.

Now what I was going to focus on was completing more of my cooking skill challenges.  With this plate of autumn salad, I achieved the Star Chef challenge.

Camillo and I had an unexpected visitor one night.  Apparently, it was now common news where I, as the Princess, was living.  This unsavory character decided to pay us a visit.  Thankfully, since it was common news where I was living, the police arrived instantly and arrested him.

It was definitely an unfortunate side effect of being royalty.  I knew I couldn't hide forever.  But I did my best to brush it off and focus on the task at hand.  I had enough lifetime reward points to buy some special rewards.  I was bestowed the title of Queen of the Fae.  The official title and position belonged to my Mom, but this was still pretty special.
