Private aquarium lifetime wish
« on: October 03, 2010, 03:20:19 PM »
I have been informed by my husband, who always chooses this life time wish, that you can keep all your fish in a pond on your lot. So long as they are perfect fish your LTW will be fullfilled. He also says that he never had to feed any of them while they were in said pond.

That's very interesting, ratchie.  I've done this LTW only once, with my Dynasty founder, and I found it to be a very easy one to complete.  Not having to feed the fish would make it even easier.  Thanks for sharing this.

But you would have to have ten of each fish to put them in the pond to start with wouldn't you? I guess fishing from the pond would be out of the question till you achieved it.
I wonder if anyone else had this experience of keeping the fish in the pond?

I think we need a little more information, Rachel.  Is he putting 10 of each fish into the pond and then fishing them out again to put in the aquarium?

He just said that once you have your 13 perfect fish in the pond then the lifetime wish was complete. He has completed this particular life time wish many many times
He says you can also keep your fish in the inventory until you have the required amount then put them in the fish bowls if you want. Again you don't need to feed them while they are in your inventory.

I've kept them in inventory before and it worked fine.  But I'm not sure about the pond.  It seems like a lot of effort to get 10 of each perfect fish in order to be able to stock the pond.  I think we need some testing on this to see how it works.

I feel like I'm missing something here.  Why would you need to have 10 of each fish?  The LTW just requires one perfect specimen of each species.

I'm doing some testing at the moment. For starters, I'm stocking the pond with ten of one fish. Not all perfect, but I'm making sure there are some perfect specimens of each variety. If that doesn't work, I'll try stocking with 10 perfect of each kind, but that does seem silly when using fish bowls, you only need 1 perfect.

Norma

*edit* Not looking good so far. I have stocked the pond with 6 different varieties making sure there were a few perfects of each. When I hover over his lifetime wish though, it says I have 0 of 13 perfect fish.

Can't you just put in a single fish?  I didn't know this.

@Schipperke:

You must have at least 10 of a single type of fish in order to stock a pond.  When you have them in your personal inventory, just click a pond and the option to stock it will appear.  That's why we're having some confusion about the claim of keeping perfect fish in the pond to achieve the Perfect Aquarium Lifetime Wish.  To be able to put the fish into a pond, stocking is the only way.  It's not really making sense that the LTW will be achieved by using a pond.

OK, I've stocked the pond with 13 different fish, making sure there were at least 2 (often more) perfect specimens of each. The LTW was not completed though. Now I'm working on stocking a pond with 13 varieties, but using only perfect fish to do so. We'll see what that does.

Thanks for testing it, Norma.  I really think we must have a case of misinformation here.  It just doesn't make sense.

I'm beginning to think so too Pam. Maybe ratchie's husband uses a mod to do this. I'm not sure if you can use the moveobjects cheat to put a single fish in a pond.. can't test it at the moment because one of the twinkids wanted to play sims, so I'm on the laptop lol

Well I got my fisherman to stock a new pond with thirteen different fish and every single one of them was perfect, but it still diddent grant his LTW. I also tried to place a perfect fish in the pond using the moveobjects cheat, but that can't be done either. So I'm guessing a bit of misinformation or a mod.
One good thing came of this, I found out where to get robot fish  :D - Ophelia's fishing spot.
