We're happy to help. Thanks for letting us troubleshoot the problem with you. :)

Yep, as Khaine mentioned, keep the NoCD mod if you have it and leave store downloads. Remove CC and mods.

Oooh boy. That's a good question. I'm not for sure on the CC looks like, as I don't use 3rd party custom content. So I don't quite know what it looks like in the launcher.

However store content will show up in the Installed Content tab, in the launcher and should have a white bag with a tiny green plumbob icon next to it, showing that it's Store content.

*Edit*

While trying to search for what cc looks like in the Sims 3 launcher I did find this link.

Game Help:TS3 Custom Content
http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Custom_Content

It may not show a photo of what it looks like in the launcher, but does give an idea of how to uninstall it.

Hopefully this helps some. :)

working on uninstalling custom content from the launcher.  so far game runs better while running but will not save.  I still get the error 12 message even when using "save as".  going through the debugging process on all the various things I have in the game is going to be a lengthy process.  wondering if I should just move family out of their house into library and let them start over in new house/lot?

thinking that Mrs. Flynn's policy of not using CC might be a good one from hence forth.  will continue to update progress if that is ok.
Have a great day!

Might be worth copying your family to the bin, then quit the game... get rid of as much CC as you can and all cache files.

Then start a new game, move the family in, save and then delete all other saves.

Then see how you go. :)

You should be able to save them to the household bin in Edit Town. :)

have saved them now.  another question.  I have enrolled all the children in boarding school until the oldest boys graduate high school.  will this help reduce clogging up since the household?
thanks bunches!

You know, I have no idea on that. I've never used the boarding school function...

Hi LA,

I am sorry for not recommending saving just the family (household). *Blush* And I do that in my saved-games all the time along with saving their houses. I save them each separately. And if it's one I'm playing for awhile I'll save household and house together. Just to make sure I've got things backed up. As my older computer used to love eating my Sims stuff all the time.

I haven't tried sending kids off to boarding school. I've had problems in the past with traveling of any sort. So I just don't do it.

Maybe Khaine will know more about boarding school?

I actually honestly don't know. I probably wouldn't risk it until the Error 12 errors are sorted out. :)

no worries, Mrs. Flynn!  I think saving them with and without house is a great policy that I'm going to adopt from hence forth!

Khaine, cross those fingers, toes and eyes again 'cause I wasn't considering boarding school as a risk and sent them last night but so far, the game hasn't saved after they have left, just the enrolling has been saved. guessing I can unenroll by phone.... going to try it once they are settled into new abode.

thanks!

Hi LA,

Just checking into see how your game is behaving before I head off for the night. The last I read you were going to move the family into a new house and then maybe (?) try to save from there.

I'm happy to hear you've got your family safely backed up. Yay!!

Hope all is going well, :)
