Freezing on Saving? Save Game Gone?

So, I just reinstalled the game and began the painstaking routine of building my house. I always stop every minute or two to save the game, so I did... Well, it would save then freeze when saving the next time. I Googled and saw that using "Save As" sometimes helped, so I tried that. Well, it worked... Once. Saved again and it FROZE again. I close it and then go to restart the game and my previous save file has disappeared.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm completely lost for words.

Do you have the backup folder of your save? It should be in Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saves.

The only way I know around it is to use the Nraas Saver mod... I don't know if you're comfortable with installing mods though.
