The sims freezes and works slowly.
« on: July 29, 2014, 09:12:35 AM »
Hello, I'm sorry if i posted this in the wrong place i'm new here. Well my problem is that my sims
works slowly and freezes sometimes for few seconds but it dosen't crash. The point is that i tried almost everything.
I tried the SimReset cheat, I tried the ErrorTrap - OverWatch, The sims 3 crash log analyzer which dosen't show anything I don't know if i'm using it wrong or there is nothing wrong with the sims, FPS limiter which when I open it, it shows for a second and then closes.  I tried taking out mods and downloads out still the same. I also tried using sims with the lowest graphic settings, My computer is new got it a week ago.
Processor   Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz
Video Card 1   NVIDIA GeForce GT 640
Video Card 2   Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
Memory   8.1 GB
Operating System   Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit
Please help.  :'(

Which world are you playing in?

How old is your save game (sim weeks/days)?

Have you tried a new sim in a new world?

The world of Island Paradise. Amm.. Around 3-4 sim weeks? though it started since i created them. And yes. But i should try again.

Are your sims carrying a lot of inventory?
No not at all.

But I downloaded this thing 4gb_patch and there was a massive difference though it didnt last for long..

Isla Paradiso is a bugger for being slow.

You need to do the following.

1) Your laptop has TWO graphics cards. Make sure it's using the nVidia by default.
2) Install Nraas Register, go to the town hall and set the options. Remove as many of the "wild animals" as possible. I found getting rid of racoons, deer and dropping horses down to 1 fixed most of the lag issues in Isla Paradiso.

1) It's not a laptop. xD And how do I make sure it's using nividia?
2) I'll try that thanks!

Ok then, your DESKTOP has 2 graphics cards. Point still stands :p Though if you have your monitor plugged into the nVidia card, that should be much less of an issue.

I had this problem when I opened my first save. But, at the advice of someone else, I opened a different file and it worked perfectly!

I mean to simply start a new game from the main menu. Put a sim into a house and test it out. When this happened to me, it was only the first game I started that would freeze. All other games have been fine since.

Probably because the first time it has to build the cache files.

Second time, it should run better.
