You should be fine.

I run the base game + all expansions + all stuff packs + a ton of store content on a slightly lower spec laptop than that.

It can get a little laggy after a while... you might have to reboot every 3-4 hours or so. I've also found large houses with lots of people can be a little bit of an issue, as is Isla Paradiso. If you don't mind using mods, I recommend Overwatch, Error Trap and Register to help with that (Register can be used to remove a lot of the wild animals, which really, really helps in Isla Paradiso).

Hmm..Thanks for the great advice. I'm about to buy it today off craiglist, what do you think about that?

See it working first, and if paying cash, take someone with you.

That's the best advice I can offer.

Help, it lags with all expansions...Occasional hiccup from scrolling etc. How do you have your cpu setup?

That's just The Sims for you. I get that on my desktop and laptop after several hours of play... haven't really found a way around it other than clearing out cache files every so often.

Hi SimsGangsta,

I'm sorry to hear your getting lag and glitches in your game. Something that helps me with playing Sims 3 is to play it for short periods of time, say no more than an hour or 2. Then get out of the game, clear cache files. Restart the computer. To help with refreshing everything.

so I found out my game runs flawlessly with all expansions without mods..but ive become accustom to playing ts3 with mods..its almost unbearable. Turns out i have like 300 mbs of mods, i decided to test it without them and it ran fast and smooth. i had nraas and a bunch of other fancy mods from popular modders like shimrod etc. so the question is how do i go about this? btw i combined all my mods into one package file already so thats not the case

I'd check your mods and make sure there aren't compatibility issues.

They're actually all fine I used the delphy tool to check and it said everything was okay, do you personally have mods in your game and if so how much?

Yep.

Most of the Nraas ones, pose player, a no sparkles for vampires remover, no more hidden brooms for witches, unlocked computer games, no whining on motives and that's about it. Comes to about 62mb in total.

I notice the most significant change when I delete Nraas Storyprogression mod the game feels more smoother and looks so as well

You might need to tweak your SP settings then. I think you do that from city hall.
