Can't place relics

I tried posting this on mts but I haven't gotten any help yet so I thought I'd try here. There seems to be a glitch where I can't place relics in my sim's home. I can't place them on the floor or on a display. I'll click to place it, it will show up where I clicked to place it but if I click somewhere else it will just go back into my sim's inventory. It only happens with relics, I can place gems and other objects. I've tried quitting without saving and resetting the town, moving my sim out and back in. It was working just fine placing the objects I had in an old house to a new home (my sim just moved), the glitching started when I tried to place the objects my sim had just recently gotten that were in her inventory. I even tried putting them in the family inventory using nraas, but it didn't fix the problem. I've also lost some relics, anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Drag it from the inventory to somewhere on the lot, then try using buy mode?

That's how I do it.

That's the problem, it's glitched. All of my relics are. I'll try to record a video of it to show you.

In that case, try exporting your household to the library and moving them back in?

Should reset everything and hopefully fix it.

I tried that, and resetting the town using nraas. Is there an option in nraas to move everything in my sims inventory into the family inventory? I know you can one at a time but there is way to many stuff in her inventory for that.

I've actually got my game running right now, so I'll have a look.

EDIT: Can't find an option to do it. >_<

You could sell the relics and then use buydebug on in build mode to "re-buy" them and place where you want. That might work.

Do they even have all of the relics in buydebug?

It seems to be the ones that are apart of a collection are the glichy ones. Like collection of canopic jars, collection of gold figurines, and dangerous creature collection. The vases and bowls are perfectly fine though. I guess i can just put them in family inventory using nraas and hope the next relics she gets are not also glitched.

The first one shows the glitched items, which my sim got on the same trip as the other relics circled. The second one shows what it does when i try to place one , every time i click to place it the number goes up (it stops at four), i don't know why though.

Okay, silly question. Have you tried buying a cheap house/plot of land via real estate and placing them there instead?

Oddly enough that worked. But i would have thought when i moved her out and back in her house it would have had the same effect. I hate this game sometimes.
I still can't place them in her home though.

Basically my theory was that maybe you have too much stuff in your house and its making the game go nuts. I honestly wouldn't be surprised of there's some kind of "object limit" on lots, and Maxis didn't expect anyone to hit it.

But its just those specific objects. I had over 60+ relics in my sims inventory when she got back from her trip. I could place all but those relics but not those certain ones. Your theory would make sense if i hadn't tried placing those objects before putting down the other 50, but they where glitched before and after all of them.

Unless trying to place them hit the limit and corrupted them somehow.

ATM its all theory, but with the coding in Sims 3, I honestly wouldn't be surprised.
