I can't find my saved files
« on: July 08, 2014, 07:32:55 AM »
I was cleaning up my desktop, as you do, and I decided to change the way I organized my files. Instead of having all of them on my desktop, I was going to use the built-in Mac folders, like Documents and Applications. Because I'm stubborn and all that, when I installed my Sims game I had it installed in the custom made Applications folder on my desktop, and with this new move I changed the location to the built-in folder in Macintosh HD. I then loaded my Sims game, and lo and behold it's like a brand new game with no save files whatsoever. I kind of panicked, understandably, because I've been playing Sims for, like, 4 years, and I'm an 'architect' type, meaning my goal is to build houses. I was pretty proud of them, and I wanted to keep them. I figured, well, the game can't find the files now, so I'll log out and change the location of the file. Which I did. To no effect. I realized there was a folder on my desktop that had been there since I first rebooted Sims after the move, called Electronic Arts. I moved that folder into the newly moved Applications folder on my desktop, and hoped and prayed. Nada. Is there a way to set something up so that the game finds the saved files and reads them? Help please!!!!!!!  :-\
I'm not the best resource for Sims-related info but I do my best, and I've been doing it for 4/5 years.
