Generation Four: The Vampire and The Fairy Part ThreeYou know I don't think I've ever actually seen what my great aunt looks like, other than her prom picture but she was young then.
She has a new boyfriend now, I wonder if Travis has ever seen her face, and that must be pretty weird kissing cardboard.
Technically Don and I were still together, in so much as we hadn't officially called it off but our relationship had hit rock bottom, and I don't think I could cheat on him if I tried, my luck with men is abysmal, especially the fairy ones.
Bob was sympathetic when I complained about Don but I think he was secretly amused by my humiliation, and then two seconds later he insulted me once more. Remind me again why I'm friends with this guy?
At least my boss is agreeable, such a shame Yuri's a werewolf, and a bit long in the tooth now although Gran could easily sort that out. He did give me a promotion though when I asked meaning just one more to go and I will be ready, but ready for what?
So there I was with my love life slowly going down the drain and the old folks did nothing but rub it all in by smooching in front of me all the time. Why couldn't I find somebody like that who would spin me round and kiss me breathless, so unfair!
But it turned out I already had.
So he's a cheater, but my mum was a cheater and so was my grandfather, people can change, and I'm willing to give him a second chance, more than willing in fact.
I sometimes wonder why Grandad Dallas chose a life of crime over a life in music, his rendition of Flamenco Fever on the electric guitar is amazing, he'd have made a good rock star.
Grandad and Wiley chose that path, they are both lead guitarists now, I went symphonic, not by choice I'll have you know but by necessity, I really wanted to go rock as well.
They arrived at work just as I was leaving having just got my final promotion.
As soon as I got home Gran put my stereo in place, it's actually the only stereo in the house right now, Gran removed all the others and the television to stop me and dad from working out, she put some fancy holographic telly out by the pool and locked the gate, but there's no fear of us using this one as the room has no door.
I just had one thing left to do now and that was become immortal, sorry but even sparkles fail to make the outdoors seem a nice place to be, still at least I can stop using the sunscreen elixirs now and I'll never grow old.
Sadly my finishing my requirements meant I was free to marry, why is that sad? well our house is full so some of my family would have to leave, of course some of us have no choice but to remain so in the end it was decided grandad, Wiley and my mother would move out, they moved across the street into grandad's former home, Gran bought it some time back and made a few alterations, such as turning all the auto lighting fireplaces off, updating the guest room furniture and adding instruments and easels. I'm sad to see them go of course but they are not far away.
There's a good reason Grandad Dallas got to stay and it's not just because my great grandmother is loath to see him leave, somebody needs to take care of the things we can't, I don't really know what Don is capable of doing at the moment where there is very little my great grandfather can't do, one day though even he will have to leave us.
I guess there was no longer any reason for me to not take the plunge and pop the question, It was a nerve wracking moment, would he say yes?
What do you think? of course this means nothing if I can't get him down the aisle, I thought about just marrying him there and then but I decided to take him home first, and I was glad I did as there was something that needed taking care of.
It actually turns out Don isn't so much a cheater as just a bit naughty, in truth I am his first steady relationship, he used to date some lady called Nellie Spenster a long time ago, she's dead but apparently that didn't end their relationship, and then of course there is the other woman Esperanza Morse, did he cheat on me or did he cheat on her with me? I suppose it doesn't matter now, it's all in the past.
A few days later we got married at the Gazebo, as much as I hate the outdoors I wanted the full works for my wedding, but in hindsight a small family do at home might have been better, I distinctly put formal attire on the invitations yet half the guests turned up in the wrong clothes causing much booing and laughing and holding up the ceremony, I could see Don's patience was starting to wear thin and the last thing I wanted was my hot headed groom to explode in rage.
But eventually they settled down and we finally tied the knot.
I could have had exclusive access but I chose not to, why not let a few townies see that Don was a changed man ready to commit at last, but that decision literally came back to haunt me when one of them died just as she was helping herself to a slice of cake. There was a mass gasp among the guests then several broke into manic laughter, gotta love my extended family and their lack of sympathy.
Before the day began I had pictured it all in my mind, and not once had the Grim Reaper been part of that scene but he was now, this was the worst wedding day ever.
Grim left with the poor unfortunate lady but not before causing two of the guests to faint, Sherman the poor soul is a bit of a coward and passed right out, but he got awoken by the stereo and after complaining about it he turned it off, and of course it broke. Thank god for my great grandfather, in a stroke of pure brilliance he got out his guitar and started to play and with no prompting from my great grandmother might I add, within moments the guests had gathered around him to listen and soon people were dancing together and the party was once more in full flow.
The eagle eyed among you might have spotted a certain cardboard robot standing off to one side, yes even for my wedding Megan wore that bot suit, will I ever get to see her face?
So the wedding day hadn't quite lived up to my expectations but the wedding night left me with a totally different type of expectation.
Dad wants to have at least five grandchildren but I told him he'd have to make do with just the one, especially as Freddie turned out to be just perfect, how could I possibly top that.
