Ok, I am somewhat relieved after reading the positives thread. Like the negatives thread, there are some that don't exactly belong - they say 'emotions' but I still read 'moodlets'. Some of those things are just changing the user interface - or so it seems until we play and see. The same goes for the push and pull CAS - it's a user interface change (I won't say improvement because everyone likes to do things differently. Some people might prefer visible sliders). They say woodworking skill, I read sculpting.
There are definitely some things on there that make me feel excited - things I wish Sims 3 had, like search function for buy mode, and being able to edit houses with sims in them, without having to evict them first. Most of all finding out what triggers wishes whims - only extensive play of the Sims 3 helped to learn what triggered certain wishes.
I'm still very disappointed at the loss of so many creative tools, but I guess I'm going to have to count on CC recolours and CC landscaping objects to help out. It looks like I will be eagerly awaiting a package editor that allows us to make those things, and for now my enthusiasm is restored. A little.
