Or, save them to your library, and then zip the file and email it. Or if your friend lives near you, just share it on a flash drive.

Can you do that with 4? I haven't seen an option to save them outside of the gallery. Maybe I just wasn't looking right.

I don't see that option anywhere upon checking. Also when I fish around the demo's folder, I can't see any saves of Sims. Seems to just all be in the gallery's cloud save.

You can save locally. Exactly where on your hard drive it will be saved was not revealed, but I'm sure it will be easy to find. Stuff like that was always easy to find in the past, and they said they don't plan on making huge changes to that sort of thing.

PS: Anything you upload to the gallery is also saved locally.

One thing that concerned me a little was when they played the goth family and that mortimer had a really hard time going to the bathroom (even though they told them to do so) and eventually peed his pants. I thought that was weird.

I think that was because one toilet was broken and another was dirty. The simgurus said something like "Oh, its broken.."

I can't think of a time in my life when a toilet has been so dirty (but not actually broken) that the preferable choice was to go ahead and pee my pants. And I hate cleaning my toilets.

haha exactly. That's why I thought it was weird. The broken toilet I understand, but dirty? Maybe it was because he is a neat sim or something? it just looked a bit strange to me.

I liked the broadcast of today :)

Live Stream 8/29

The video starts off with SimGurus trying to fix audio problems. I don't know who the SimGurus are. The part where they introduced themselves isn't on the video. The video starts after the SimGurus have started to play the game

It looks like we are going to be spending time with the Goth family again today. They send Cassandra Goth to plant a Cow Plant seed. The male SimGuru tells us that once the Cow Plant is mature we don't have to weed it anymore, we just have to feed it.

Cut to Bella Goth who is still pregnant from yesterday. We learn that there are 3 trimesters to pregnancy and Bella is in her 2nd trimester and that the 3rd trimester will begin in 21 sim hours. A trimester lasts for about 1 day in sim time.

The SimGurus try to download a Sim from the Gallery but the #ts4lb and #thesims4lb tags don't show anything on the Gallery. They switch back to live gameplay but more weird audio issues occur and it's hard to hear the SimGurus narrate what's going on.

There's a puddle on the ground, it's uncertain as to how it got there and Bella mops it up. We cut to Cassandra reading a book outside on a bench and then over to Alexander who is in the playroom chatting with Mortimer.

Alexander asks Mortimer to help with homework. Cut back to Bella who is playing chess and the SimGurus try to download a Sim from the Gallery one more time. A young couple is imported, in order to try to show off a Sim death. Lina Cart is the female and Kim Cart is the male. They are acquaintances. The SimGurus have Kim Cart start doing romantic interactions with Lina but she is a Romantic so she likes it. The Gurus are trying to get Kim to be super embarrassed so that he will die from embarrassment. They have Kim go flirt with Bella to try to get him into the Embarrassed emotional state.

The Gurus cut to Cassandra briefly and note that she is in the Focused Emotional state from the moodlet, Productive School Day (Description: Feels so good to get stuff done! Now's the time to own that homework!) and note that is the reason she finished her homework so quickly. In contrast, Alexander has the Bummer School Day moodlet (Description: Ever had one of those days at school where you just felt like you needed a hug?)

Cut to Kim Cart to send him to the bathroom to take a bubble bath so that they can send someone to walk in on him and embarrass him further. He takes a bubble bath fully clothed (which is weird, I didn't know Never Nude was a trait in Sims 4. It could be a glitch). Bella walks in on Kim taking a bath and he is further embarrassed.

Cut to Mortimer, Cassandra and Alexander who are sitting on the sofa in the Goth family living room, chatting and watching television. Mortimer is in the Very Playful Emotional State from the Hilarious Show moodlet he got from watching the comedy channel on tv. The Sim Gurus say they might be able to get Mortimer to die if they tell him lots of jokes, I am assuming this is the new death of dying from laughter. They then have Alexander start telling Mortimer lots of jokes and then send Mortimer up to take a Playful bath to further encourage his Very Playful Emotional State. Bella is sent in the bathroom to tell jokes to Mortimer while he is bathing.

Cut to Cassandra and Alexander hugging and Cassandra grabbing a bowl of spoiled food and eating it. The SimGuru drags the spoiled family serving to the garbage can and it's revealed that when you throw things away/recycle them with that specific garbage can, you earn Simoleans when doing so. In this case, the family serving plate and Cassandra's empty single serving both earn the family $60.

Cut to Bella cooking. A side note, the cooking animations that Sims who don't know how to cook very well are cute. When making grilled cheese, the Malakai brother from the first live stream this week, flipped the grilled cheese over but it landed on the stove top instead of in the pan. Today, Bella accidently drops the salt shaker in the pot of mac & cheese and grimaces when she does.

Cut back to the family sitting down at the dining table, chatting and eating. Mortimer is again in the Very Playful Emotional state and the Gurus have Cassandra use Playful interactions on him since all of the Goths are in the Playful Emotional state. The SimGuru who is driving the interactions has Mortimer selected and is looking for playful interactions. I think she wants to select another member of the Goth family and have them playfully interact with Mortimer to keep his Emotional state in Very Playful but she doesn't realize this.

Now we cut to the career panel and Mortimer is a Freelance Article Writer. He makes $38/hour and works 4 days a week from 9-5. There is a performance meter again but it's color coded into 5 sections from left to right: red, orange, light green, teal, green. Underneath he has 2 more promotion requirements: Reach Level 3 Writing Skill and Self-Publish 2 books 0/2. He has work in 6 hours so the Sim Gurus decide to feed him and give him a good night's sleep so that he can do a good job at work.

A new Sim is imported in from the Gallery, Brocolis (Loves the Outdoors, Foodie, Cheerful & Collector) in another attempt to embarrass someone to death again. (Is this Live Stream over yet? There's nothing really new so far other than the tidbit about that specific garbage can)

The baby cow plant is really cute too when we go check on it.

It's morning and almost time for Cassandra and Alexander to go to school, we see the Job Panel opened up for Cassandra and she is a High School C Student. Her Grade Requirements have a Performance Meter too as well as Attend School While Focused. The SimGuru has Cassandra go to the chess table to Ponder Moves and Play Chess to get her into a Focused Emotional State for school. Alexander's Job Panel is similar to Cassandra's except that he has to Get 2 Skills to Level 4 (Side note: Apparently, child skills are different than Adult skills. The child skills listed under Get 2 Skills to Level 4 are: Creative, Mental, Motor and Social. We saw a child learn the Motor skill on Day 2 of the live streams when they used the monkey bars at the park) and Attend School While Energized. The difference, I assume, is because Cassandra is a teen in high school while Alexander is a child in elementary school.

Cut to Mortimer who has work in 3 hours. The SimGurus talk about the Daily Task that each Sim has to complete for a boost to their Performance meter. Mortimer's Daily Task is to "Read Books" If you don't fully complete your Daily Task, it's not going to count that much against you but if you completely ignore them, it will hurt your Performance meter.

And cut to Kim Carter again, to try to get him to die of embarrassment. They send him to take a shower. Side note, the Steamy Shower option puts a Sim in the Flirty Emotional state and you can bake Flirty cookies and feed them to the Sim you are trying to Woo. The Gurus send in Broccoli to walk in on Kim taking a shower and both are now in the Very Embarrassed Emotional state. Kim is instructed to flirt with Broccoli and vice versa.

A Career Event pops up for Alexander while he is at school. "Another standardized test! Alexander is almost done when he realizes he skipped a bubble near the top. All his answers are one off! He starts to tell the teacher but he realizes he'll have to take it again. It's really only for the state - it doesn't affect his grade." There are two options to choose from "Confess the Mistake" or "Turn it In" The SimGurus have Alexander "Confess the Mistake" and then go to the notifications feed to find out the result. "Phew! Alexander tells the teacher what happened and the teacher helps him transfer his answers onto a new form. Just enough time to finish the rest of the test!" and gains a small boost to his Performance meter.

Back to trying to get a Sim to die. And then check on the cute baby Cow Plant. Lina Cart is sent to water the Cow Plant and Kim gets to flirt with the Goth's maid now. Now they are going to try to have him cook and catch on fire. The Gurus swap out the expensive stove for the basic $400 model and get rid of the Fire Prevention System Utility Panel which makes sprinkler pop out from the ceiling when a fire starts. Kim Carter is sent to cook Mac & Cheese and a fire breaks out! Poor Kim Carter is set on fire. He turns darker and more singed and finally dies. Lina Carter and Broccoli are sent to extinguish the fire after Kim dies and now we wait for the Grim Reaper to show up! Bella comes home while Lina is standing over the corpse of Kim in the kitchen and her pregnancy says "Give Birth in ???"

The Grim Reaper shows up and he pulls out a tablet and then Kim Carter is turned into a funerary urn. Then Broccoli is sent to talk to the Reaper and they sit at the kitchen table and chat over Kim's Urn.

Next we are shown that Bella received a promotion at work today. In the Notifications Feed, we see that she was Promoted to Agent Handler, she received a boost in pay, a bonus and a Reconnaissance Workstation (Description: Good-guy technology that's as much fun as bad-guy gadgets, featuring many urgent flashing lights and switches for use in battling the most dedicated supervillains. Environment:5) and the Tranquilizing Handshake interaction.

The broken, burned stove is replaced with a new stove and the Gurus fast forward so that we might see Bella give birth before the stream ends. Another Career Event opens up for Alexander: Unfinished Assignment - When Alexander gets to class, he realizes his timeline is due, the one he was supposed to start weeks ago. He eyes the stack of papers piling up on his teacher's desk. All he needs is a few minutes alone with one….Does he try to copy a classmate's or confess the truth? Copy a Classmate's or Confess the Truth? Gurus choose Confess the Truth. The result in the notification wall "Alexander's teacher commends him for his honesty and gives him a one-time extension. He has a lot to get done in a short time but at least he got a second chance!"

Cassandra gets a Career Event - Stressed Teacher "The teacher has to run out and pick up his medication, so he asks the class to sit quietly and do their reading assignment while he's gone. Should Cassandra do that or try some other homework while she has the chance?" Do the Reading or Do Some Homework are the options. The Gurus choose Do the Reading option with the result "She tries to do the reading but she can't concentrate since she's thinking about that mountain of homework. At the end of class she doesn't even remember what she just read.

Finally we get to see Bella Goth give birth to the new little Goth-let. When she goes into labor, she can still perform actions and heads down to the kitchen to mourn Kim Carter, then goes to take a nap and a bubble bath.  It takes a few in game hours to give birth apparently. Once the labor countdown goes off, a bassinet appears and the baby pops into Bella's arms. He is given the name of Ollie Goth. Some of the family members come into the bathroom to welcome the baby and the stream ends on an announcement that Pancake Bob is going to PAX this weekend.

jillz, I commend you for devotion above and beyond the call of duty. From what I read over on the official forum, the live broadcast today was really bad. I missed it because I was pre-loading the game and didn't want to interrupt that.

Anyway, I've started a story about Hank Goddard and Pauline Wan moving from Sunset Valley to Oasis Springs. I set up a blog site for my Sims 4 stories so as to reduce space on the Forum. As soon as a Stories Board is up, I'll post a link to the prologue.

Don't believe what you read on the Official Forums. It's usually blown out of proportion.

The stream was boring today, I wanted to give up around the 20m mark because all that was happening was trying to kill a sim from an Emotional overload. But we did end up learning more about jobs & careers and school. And we eventually did get to see Bella give birth.

I find that writing these notes up has given me a better understanding of game mechanics and maybe I'll have a head start when the game releases. Honestly, Sims 4 looks like it's going to be a little more difficult to play than the previous games. We're going to have to learn how to utilize the emotions system to get Sims into the moods we need them in to get the things we want accomplished. I think this is going to be the toughest learning curve. i.e. Cassandra needed to be Focused to improve performance at school. So, not only do you have to make sure her basic needs are met, you're going to have to figure out what specific interactions you can use that will satisfy her basic needs and get her in the right Emotional State. I believe there are hints to send you in the right direction but it's still going to be new mechanics to learn :)

And there's going to have to be a lot of game play to just unlock everything there is in the game. You're going to have to play all 8 careers to max level (possibly both branches) to unlock all the reward items and Styled reward roomsfor them. I'm not sure if there are item rewards associated with the Achievement system in game. And there was the medal system for parties that unlocks items, I wonder if the medal system is implemented in other situations as well. So yeah, until the cheat is discovered to unlock all the rewards without actually earning them, expect a lot of game play to have every item in game available to you to use.

jillz, my enthusiasm for the game hasn't been dimmed at all. But it is frustrating to watch someone else play, and even more so, when they don't seem to know what they're doing.

It sounds like there are lots of unlockables in the game, and not all of them are objects. I'm fine with that (although I never got any SimPort rewards). According to this interview with Graham Nardone, you can play more video games as you improve in the skill, and apparently the skills offer something new at every level. It sounds like fun to me, but then I like new goodies.

Well I think I found where they are saved, but I'm not sure what we could do with the info!  On my computer, the path is BigDrive/Users/Norma/MyDocument/electronic Arts/The Dims 4 Create A Sim Demo/Tray
That folders has numerous files of various sorts all named with mostly long strings of numbers. The first group of files are are all named with a string of numbers and letters followed by .housholdbinary  The number of files in that group is the same as how many households I have saved (not all are shared) There is also a group of files named with a string or numbers followed by .trayitem  The number of those files also mathces the number of households I have created and saved. Obviously, these files have something to do with our saved sims, but I'm not sure we could just add those files to someone else's game and have them play our sims. Personally, I wouldn't go playing around in that folder.

I am trying to post a new topic. Does anyone know if the Simpoints we have for the Sims3 store will also work for Sims4? Are all our Sims3 points wasted if we buy Sims4? Thanks for any help.

I can't think of a time in my life when a toilet has been so dirty (but not actually broken) that the preferable choice was to go ahead and pee my pants. And I hate cleaning my toilets.

lol, I know right! Here is an excerpt from Pinstar about how repairing toilets work in game...

Fix the toilet ASAP, not when you have to pee!
When toilets break in TS4, they become unusable for their primary function. This is a change from past incarnations when a clogged toilet still allowed Sims to use them. With no repair man service sim, you have two choices when a toilet breaks: repair it yourself or replace it. (There is a very handy ‘replace this object for $X interaction on a broken item so you don’t have to futz around with buy mode). When a toilet breaks, fix it as soon as you can. Not only does fixing it allow it to be used again, it generates junk piles. Junk piles can be salvaged for spare parts, and spare parts can be used to upgrade items. Do NOT make the mistake I made and forget about the broken toilet, have my pregnant Lady Cheshire race to the bathroom and fail to repair it in time before she had a bladder failure.

I answered this in another part of the forum, but sadly, no, the Simpoints from Sims 3 don't transfer to Sims 4.  So, unless there is something on the Sims 3 Store you want, I don't recommend purchasing more points.
