Yes, I think some of us may have to start over again, because I was under impression that any empty commercial lots left after the 5 changes were to be turned into residential lots and have a house put on...not just redesignated as something else so the sims can purchase it.  I honestly don't see much difference between having sims buy and upgrade an empty property and buying a house for the drones to fill.


EDIT:  I should mention I don't see much difference, because I didn't put the cheapo houses in the commercial-turned-residential lots, but the homes that came in the bin with one of the EP's (was it GEN?)

To me small parks and undesignated lots are not commercial lots really, they are nothing, hence the designation changes.  However if you have already put in houses Metro might give permission for you to continue.  I don't see a huge difference anyways.

Let me explain the small parks / undesignated lot change.

For a player playing in a new world, they may not realize the small park is not purchasable.  They think the small park is like big park, let the drone purchase the property for moving out.  They start playing the game and many weeks into it, then they realize the small park can't be purchase, it just sits there looking pretty is all, and it is too late for them to go to edit town to do anything at that point, hence disqualifying them.

For everyone that already started but have filled their small park / undesignated lot with residential houses, you are free to continue.

Ok, I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but you've taken care of the small park issue, however, if the purpose is to either have a drone living on a property or owning a property (and having absolutely nothing unowned/resided in) then you are forgetting the other lot types that were on the "Edit town" list as ok to change.  This was so they would appear in the real estate screen.  An example off the top of my head are the community gardens.  Left without changing their type, they are not purchasable to the drone, and will therefore go on doing nothing but being pretty.  So I'm thinking that we do kind of need the edit town list previously made, in order to change all lot types to something that can be purchased.


Again, I am sorry for being a pain in the butt.  I just feel that if we address the small parks, we should be addressing the rest for the same reason...and of course, permission should be granted for existing players to go to edit town and make the changes without starting over.

Sorry, that may have been a bad example, not sure...I did, however, go to my honeycomb file in MV and the 3 properties on the edit town list do not come up as purchaseable in my file, because I never changed them to something else.

So by undesignated, you mean that it won't come up and be purchaseable?  So, maybe we just to add that players need to look at the edit town list to see the lots that will need to be changed to something else (if aren't axed by the 5 free choices).

I know that those 3 listed would need to be changed to big park, hangout, beach, cat/dog park.  I think the list is pretty accurate as far as the hoods listed.
