Unable to delete all my downloaded content.
« on: June 28, 2014, 07:55:56 AM »
I've hit a snag. I haven't played for a while and had actually uninstalled all my EP's and SP's except for Into the Future and Movie Stuff. However, I want to play again for a bit before Sims 4 comes out, so I have spent the evening reinstalling all the extras (except Diesel and Katie Perry - those I can live without lol) I got everything installed, but decided that I would clear out all my downloaded stuff from the store and just put in the things I really want. I've been able to delete a heap of things, but now there are a number of items that when I try to delete them, it goes through the process and then comes up with the message that it cannot uninstall package with decendants. What in the world does that mean? I'm not opposed to a complete uninstall and then reinstall everything, but if there is an easier way I would prefer it lol.

***Later edit... I am beginning to think uninstalling everything and starting from scratch is going to be the best alternative. Just went to start a new game and started by going into the options to change the lifespan, but I can't change the lifespan from epic. I can't turn aging off either,  although I didn't want to do that anyway. I can reset to default settings, but that only takes the lifespan to normal, I can't choose any other lifespan.

I'll hold off deleting everything until tomorrow (too late to start now) just incase some one can point out something obvious that I'm missing lol.

Sounds like those items might be linked to other items you have some way and can't be deleted without deleting the other items also. Maybe they were installed as part of a group and can't be uninstalled separately.
What are the items give you that error message?
A clear conscience is usually a sign of a bad memory.

There was a variety of items, including some sims that i had installed alaone. It must have just been some sort of glitch though, because I just turned the computer on and started it up and was able to select all the installed content and uninstall it all. Everything is now gone.

Oh and to the problem of not being able to change the lifespan... that was an elder moment I think, of course you need to actually start a game before you can select a lifespan.. doh!

I was about to ask if you had done that! So is everything resolved here?
