Can I import Sims from one game into another?
From one save to the next? Yes. The FamilyBin in the Sims 2 only ever saved one copy of the family, and once they were placed  - that was it. In the Sims 3 you can place as many copies of the same family in one neighborhood using the FamilyBin - or in any other neighborhood you like. It's the same FamilyBin in all saves.

How do I get my Sims to change households?
The "..." Button, go into Edit Town, and there should be a little button on the left hand side that looks like a house with an arrow. Click on it and it will ask if you are sure that you want to change households, as you can't keep wishes and blah blah blah. You click the checkmark and you can then change households.

Can Sims fall in love with someone of the same gender or is that a mod?
No mod needed. All you have to do is romance the Sim of the same gender.

Is there a way to edit a Sim's appearance after I've created them?
When in game, in the household of the Sim you want to edit, press three buttons on your keboard "Ctrl + Shift + C" at the same time. This will prompt a blue box at the top of your screen. This is the cheat console. In that console, type in "testingcheatsenabled true" exactly like that (without the quotation marks around it) and hit enter. Now press shift and click on your sim and you'll see a "Edit in Create-a-Sim option.

How do I move?
Phone, computer, newspaper. Usually it's under "Real Estate > Move Within this Neighborhood/Move to a new Neighborhood"
If you're not patched all the way, there should just be an option to just "move."

A lot of these answers were used under the most recent patch, so if your game is not patched all the way things may look differently. Hopefully this helps!

Can I import Sims from one game into another?
 Yes you CAN...but they won't be the 'same' they will be exact copies of those sims when you put them in the bin. So you might SEE the sim you've been playing with for months still in the bin- but that is the sim you started to play with, NOT the sim they are after months of play. You can COPY the sim you're playing (along with all money/ skills/ even the house) into the bin through the edit town feature as well...so if you don't want to start from scratch then use that, but if you want to start from scratch just use the original sim that you created which is automatically placed in the bin.

How do I get my Sims to change households?
Yes, but you can only control 1 household at a time. So if you play with story progression the original household WILL continue to carry out their lives without you and even die. So it's not like sims 2 where you switch back and forth and you don't miss anything...you could come back to find that the original household even 'moved out of town' and are not longer playable.

Yes they can have romantic relationships and even whoohoo...but there is NO male pregnancy in sims 3. Even when male sims get 'alien pregnant' (which is not guaranteed through abduction like sims 2 either) the male sim is NOT pregnant according to the game. They will get a 'gained weight' moodlet and a baby will appear after 3 days...but from what I've read it is NOT a genetic combo of the alien and the sim, it's basically a clone of the alien. (Not sure about that last part because after being abducted 4 times my male [gay] sim has never gotten 'pregnant' by it) Nraas DOES have a mod that you can use for male pregnancy but you will have to download body and clothes meshes to use it without a glitch...the glitch; since there is NO male pregnancy in the unmodded game there are no pregnancy meshes for males. (You will know a male is pregnant when you see a head floating over a pair of shoes)

**Just a side note. IF you make enough sims 'gay' they WILL start to have babies between them even in an unmodded game!! BUT they will have the floating head syndrome...and your controlled sim WOULD NEVER be able to become pregnant, only NPCs will do it.
