Oh, please post the next installment soon, I'm dying to know what happens next. I forgot to mention this before but your idea for each immortal to leave notes after their spouses died is brilliant, such a lovely thought  ;)

Sounds good to me!

Epilogue- At Last

To set my plan into motion, certain things needed to happen.  One of those things was Shikon moving out and finding his own place.  I sat him down and talked to him, telling him that this needed to be done.  Being no stranger to sacrifice, Shikon agreed and then hopped on the computer to go house hunting.  He found a nice place for himself and promptly moved out.

I gave Shikon a big hug before he left and told him that he would be receiving a phone call from his Mom very soon.  He was confused by that but just shrugged it off because he was used to me giving him cryptic answers by this point.  Now that we had a free space in the household, a very special member would now be joining us.  All of the family were just standing around, waiting for something magical to happen.  I couldn't disappoint them, so I told this special someone to approach Mo and talk to her.

"Hey stranger," he said.
Mo turned around.
"Michael?" Mo gasped.
Mo immediately pulled him to her.

"But how?" Mo managed to ask through tears of joy streaming down her face, smearing her makeup. "I thought you were gone forever!"
"I know, sweetie.  I didn't think I'd get a chance to be with you or Shikon ever again but here I am." Michael said.

"I can't tell you how much I missed you," Mo said.
"I can't tell you how much I missed you," Michael agreed.
Both laughed.
"Look at you, Mo.  You look so beautiful.  You look as stunning as the day we met." Michael added. "Me, I'm just old an wrinkly."
"I don't care if you're old and wrinkly," Mo interrupted. "You're here with me and that's all that matters."
Mo spun Michael around and went in for a long overdue kiss.

"Your Grandma Haiiro told me that you had done it, that our son had done it.  You were immortal and the dynasty rules were lifted." Michael stated. "So, now that you are a free woman, I'd be honored if you'd be with me."

"Michael, I don't want to be boyfriend and girlfriend anymore." Mo said.
Michael looked confused.
"What do you mean?"
Mo got down on her knee and Ori handed her a box, which she presented to Michael.
"Michael, I'm free to do what I want and to be with who I want.  What I want is you." she explained. "Michael Romero, will you marry me?"

Michael, by this time, had teared up as well.
"Did you honestly think that I would come back from the dead and say no?" he said with a laugh.
Mo smiled brightly and then slipped the engagement ring on his finger.

Then it was my turn to give a gift to the happy couple.  I presented Michael with a special potion.  He looked at Mo, who nodded.  Michael then chugged the pink liquid.

Before Michael knew it, he was young again.

ChaCha dragged Michael inside and gave him a makeover.

I had one last gift to give Michael.
"You deserve a chance to spend an eternity of happiness with Mo," I told him.
He didn't question the pink drink I gave him this time.  I think Michael knew that he had stopped aging and that he and Mo could finally have their shot at happiness.

Despite the fact that they now had an eternity to spend together, Michael and Mo didn't want to waste another moment.  They decided to get married right then and there.  Mo made a special call to Shikon, who just smiled at me knowingly when he came for the wedding.

"I now pronounce us Mr. and Mrs...-wait, are we Romero's or Sakura's?" Michael questioned.
"Baby, in this dynasty, you take my name!" Mo said with a laugh.
Michael smiled brightly.
"I'd be honored to." he told her. "I now pronounce us Mr. and Mrs. Sakura."
"At last!" Mo said.
Michael nodded.
"At last."
The happy couple then shared their first kiss as husband and wife.

Following the wedding, Michael made a quick call to a realtor.  Mo and Michael were going to move out to their own place to enjoy their new lives together.

While Michael and Mo went to go pack their things for the move, I went and found Shikon, who had come back to the house for his parents' wedding.  He was all smiles.

"Thanks, Grandma H." He said, giving me a hug.
I smiled at him.
"Thanks for giving my Mom and Dad a chance to finally be together." He continued.
"They deserve it." I said. "We all deserve a chance at happiness."
Shikon smiled back.

"And knowing you, Grandma, you will find a way to bring us that happiness."
"That's the plan," I told him. "Speaking of which, I have an errand to run."
"At this hour?" Shikon questioned.
I nodded.
"This errand has been a long time coming." I explained. "And I don't want to wait a minute longer."
With that, I gave Shikon another hug and then set off to take care of my special errand.

I know what errand that is. Haiiro's mid-afternoon (?) errand is.... Raising the dead!!

I am a huge sucker for happy endings so of course the Sakura's will get one  ;D

Epilogue- Haiiro's Mission

By the time I actually managed to sneak away from the house, the sun had set and it was dark outside.  But that didn't matter.  If this took me all night, then so be it.  I was a woman on a mission and nothing was going to get in my way of bringing happiness to my family.

I headed over to the science center.  I was a little anxious as I put my hand on the cold, silver handle.  Would this work?  It had to; I had seen it myself with all of my ancestors.  I know what my Great x6 Grandma Shiroi had told me before I even started this journey.  This had to work.  I promised my family that all of their hard work and sacrifices would be rewarded in the end.  I couldn't let them down.  I let out a breath and headed inside.

I was greeted by a friendly secretary who immediately recognized who I was: DD's grandma.  As the grandmother of the facility's top scientist, I was immediately taken back to the research facility where we would attempt to do something that was pretty unique.  With any luck, it would work.

It took a bit of time.  I read practically every outdated magazine in the lobby while waiting for the scientists for finish their work.  Eventually, one of the scientists emerged from the back with a disappointed look on his face.  My heart sank at his expression.  Had it not worked?  What did I do wrong?  Did my Grandma Shiroi do something differently?  I pushed these thoughts aside and asked the scientist what happened.  He told me that things didn't go...exactly as planned.  I asked him what that meant and he turned and motioned to his fellow scientist a few feet behind him.  She nodded and then left the hallway for a moment.  When she returned, she was followed by a white translucent ghost.  They expected me to be shocked, but, after living in a house full of them for the past hundred years or so, I was not phased in the slightest.  In fact, a memory of my Grandma Shiroi's book flashed through my mind.  I knew what to do.  I knew how to fix this.  I thanked the scientists for their efforts and told them that, with any luck, I would be back.

I drove home while my ghostly companion preferred to float home.  Eventually, we met up back at the mansion and I gave her some instructions on what to do.  She was a little unsure but I assured her that I had seen it firsthand and knew that this would work.  At least I hoped, but I didn't share that last bit with her.

Gena just nodded and then headed over to the food replicator to create a plate of Ambrosia for herself.

She took her plate and sat down at the dining room table to eat it.

"Grandma H...I feel sort of...funny..." Gena said when she was finished.  I told her that it was alright.

The Ambrosia worked its magic and suddenly, Gena was alive again.  She just looked over at me, stunned.  I smiled at her in return.  I gave her some final instructions before leaving to go head off to the science center again.

One on my instructions was to drink a pink potion.  Gena, being a fan of the color pink, just shrugged and drank it down.

"I'm young again!" Gena exclaimed happily.  She smiled to herself, thrilled.  Gena then remembered that I gave her one more task to complete.  She pulled out the other pink drink and downed that as well.

Though it was never explicitly said, Gena knew that she was now also immortal.  Her first order of business was to go find someone special.

"Ori!" she called out.
Ori, who had just come back home from work, whirled around.
"Gena?" he was surprised.
They ran to one another, happy.  Ori kissed Gena on the cheek.  "Sweetie, I'm so happy you're back!" he told her.
"Me too!" Gena agreed.

"I've missed you so much," Ori told her. "Mo's grown up into a gorgeous young lady and Shikon...oh, you've never met him.  Gena, we have a grandson."
"I'm a grandma?" Gena smiled brightly.
Ori nodded.

I sent Ori a quick text while I was waiting at the science center, explaining that Gena was back for good.  They could now do whatever they wanted to do, live however and wherever they wanted to.  Ori replied with a bunch of smilies, so I knew that he was pleased with the news.  He shared the news with Gena.  They decided that they wanted to move out on their own.  They chose to move into a place that was closer to the center of town.  Gena wanted to continue her work as a journalist, so she wanted to be closer to the action.  Ori had no problem with this.  As a doctor, he could go anywhere.

After Ori and Gena moved out, I returned home with my next family member.  Steve, the military man, followed my instructions the moment he floated through the door.  I, meanwhile, headed right back to the science center.

Steve ate the Ambrosia and then before he knew it, he was back.

Steve touched his face, surprised.  He couldn't believe that he was suddenly back and alive.

He couldn't deny the happy dance that he felt compelled to do when he realized that he was alive again.

Steve then followed the last of my instructions, to be young again and to become immortal.

Mizu, who just so happened to be walking inside the house at this very moment to get a snack for herself, dropped her glass of juice on the kitchen floor when she saw Steve standing there.
"Steve?" she questioned.
Steve smiled.
"Hi Mizu," he said.
Steve opened his mouth to tell Mizu how wonderful it was to see her again but never got the chance.  Mizu had rushed over to him and pulled him into a kiss.

They had no words to express exactly how happy they were to be back in each other's arms.  Mizu and Steve just settled for just holding each other and gazing in each other's eyes.

Like I had done with Ori, I let Mizu know what happened.  She thanked me at least fifty times before I ended the conversation.  Mizu then placed a call to a realtor.  She and Steve were going to move into their own place too.  They wanted to move someplace a little quieter so they could escape the hustle and bustle of the city but with a large yard to practice their martial arts.

Two down, four to go.

Hey, I have an idea for my dynasty, and I thought I would ask your opinion first. I'm thinking about adding a requirement for my ID. It will be they have to spend the night in a haunted house. What do you think?

A haunted house could be a fun time.  Ghosts can be so unpredictable.  Sunny was such a headache as a ghost while Steve was such a nice ghosty.  I'd definitely be interested in seeing the spin you put on it to incorporate into the story  ;D  Let me know if you decide to do it so I can keep an eye out for that chapter.

More happy endings coming up!

Epilogue- Reunion

Blaine was the next person that returned to the household.  Like the others before him, he prepared a plate of Ambrosia for himself and then headed to the dining room to eat.

I had already left at this point to return to the Science Center yet again, but I already knew what was going on with Blaine.  When he finished his meal, he levitated in the air and began his transformation.

And then he was back.

Like Steve, Blaine couldn't stop himself from doing a happy dance at being brought back from the dead.

As per my instructions, Blaine drank the two potions I left for him.

Blaine smiled brightly after drinking the first potion.  He felt the youth coursing through his veins and the life returning to his body.

Blaine drank the last potion, freezing his age and thus completing his return.

The first thing he wanted to do with his second chance at life was to reunite with his beloved ChaCha.

ChaCha was so estatic to see Blaine again that she immediately spun him around for a dip kiss, nearly bashing his head into the folding screen next to them.

ChaCha then made a phone call to the realtor to get a place for Blaine and herself.  It would be someplace artsy and modern with a large art studio since ChaCha was now free to try her hand at sculpting and to play with a chainsaw...

ChaCha and Blaine were leaving just as the next family member rejoined the household.  Sunny floated by just as her daughter was preparing to leave to move out to her new place.  They shared a quick but heartfelt reunion while Blaine packed up the taxi (since not everything would fit on ChaCha's motorcycle of course).  Following a hello and goodbye, Sunny made her way into the kitchen to prepare her own plate of Ambrosia.

She sat down and ate her meal, just like she had seen DD do many times before.

Sunny was stunned.  She put a hand up to her face and just touched her cheek, silently shocked at the feeling of her own flesh.

Cue happy dance.

The first potion was to become young again.

Sunny then took the second potion to freeze her age.

DD, by this time, had already figured out what was going on and was waiting patiently until the moment his beloved Sunny was back.

"Hey sunshine," he said, a bright smile on his face.
Sunny turned around, smiling just as brightly.
"Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes," she said with a laugh.
They didn't waste another moment apart, as DD pulled his wife into a long overdue kiss.

Sunny and DD just took a moment to just gaze upon each other.

Like his daugther, DD decided to get his own place with Sunny.  They moved into someplace with a large pond for DD to fish in and someplace quiet for Sunny since she wasn't a fan of crowds.

Four down, two to go.

Two more coming up!

Epilogue- Nearing the End

The next person to come back was Marcos.  He went to the kitchen and prepared a plate of Ambrosia for himself.

Marcos knew the drill; he had seen Rena and me eat from the plate many times.  Once he was finished, Marcos floated into the air and was engulfed by rainbows and sparkles.

And suddenly, he was back.

Being a ghost for so long, Marcos just took a moment to look himself over.  He could hardly believe that what he was seeing was his own flesh and blood.

The next thing to do was to turn back the years and become young again.

The maid came in to clean all of the empty Ambrosia plates; she didn't seem at all concerned that the ghost in the house just came back from the dead.  Thank goodness.  To work in this house, you need to not be bothered by the fact that there are centuries old people running around a house full of ghosts.

Of course, the young again process was not without its imperfections...Marcos lost his hair!

Thankfully, Marcos didn't seem to notice.  He drank the last potion I gave him to freeze his age and then went in search of his beloved Rena.

He got no further than the folding screens leading to the kitchen when Rena got to him first.  She immediately gave him a kiss.

Rena and Marcos just stood there, smiling brightly at each other.  While for our family it may have only felt like an eternity to be away from their loved ones, for Rena and me, it nearly was an eternity.

At first, Rena and Marcos were unsure if they wanted to move out as well, but ultimately decided to leave too.  They found a nice place for themselves with lots of extra room for an art studio for the two of them.

I had to admit that I was a bit nervous when I went to the Science Center the last time.  This resurrection was the most important one; it would be the last one.  I would be bringing back the man who did so much for this dynasty, the man who set the stage for us to succeed.  I would be bringing back the man that I loved.

I hung back, letting Hiller do his thing while I waited.

The rainbows and sparkles faded and Hiller was back.

Hiller was stunned.  If Marcos felt like he had been gone a long time, then I cannot even imagine how Hiller felt.  He did the inevitable happy dance.

First up was the potion to restore his youth.

The last thing that Hiller needed to do was to drink the age freeze potion so he too could become immortal.

I had been pacing back and forth in the living room, waiting for Hiller to finish with his resurrection process.  I knew that it would take a bit of time, but I couldn't help but wonder what was taking so long.  Then again, I had already waited this long to be with my darling Hiller again.  What was a few minutes more?  Besides, we're out of screenshots for this chapter so I have to wait no matter what!
