Welcome baby Ori, he's such a cutie. DD finally won't be the only guy in the immortal gang. :D R.I.P. Blaine, you were a good looking spouse :(

The notes from the spouses are a good addition to the story, they all are beautifully sad, and ChaCha's was not less.

On a happy note, DD has company ;)

What everybody above said :D

Thanks everyone.  Amazingly, in both dynasties, the girls outnumber the boys.  I try to leave everything up to chance when it comes to the genders of the heirs, but I had to get another guy in the dynasty so DD wouldn't be the only one  :D

Chapter 26- The Magical Butlers

The Grandparents pitched in a lot when it came to Ori's toddler training.

Mom started teaching Ori how to talk.  He didn't seem too interested in whatever she had to say, though...

She made sure to tell him about the dynasty and the requirements that he needed to complete.

Ori seemed especially interested whenever my Mom talked about supernatural things.

He is such a good little boy, never fussing and is always so cheery.

I managed to steal him away from the Grandparents to teach my son how to walk.

Since we had a pretty decent amount of cash in our household fund, the family decided to splurge and get a butler.  His name is Kraig Totte.

Our butler must be magical because after one week of work, he disappeared.  Maybe he works part time as a magician or something.  In any case, we decided to hire another butler.  Her name is Tonya Woodsen.

Grandpa DD told Tonya all about his grandchildren.  You would expect him to be pulling out toddler photos of Ori, but no.  He pulled out pictures of me and showed them all to her.  How embarassing...

Tonya disappeared too so we decided to give up on the whole butler thing.  We bought a photobooth and a skee ball machine instead.  Much better option.  They haven't disappeared after a week.

Anyway, back to what is really important: Ori!  Grandma Rena played with him on the xylophone.

He had much more fun eating the thing than actually playing it.

But my smart little boy got the hang of it pretty quickly.

I got to the point in my career where I had to decide which branch I wanted to go into.  Did I want to become a Forensic Scientist or did I want to become an International Super Spy?  I talked to Grandma H about it.  She told me that one of my ancestors actually worked as a field operative in the law enforcement career.  I decided to do the opposite and join the forensics branch.  One of the new skills I need to learn was the painting skill for my crime scene sketches.  Grandma Rena unlocked the art studio so I could brush up-literally-on my painting.

And more toddler spam.  Just because.

I think the disappearing butlers had an effect on Ori.  He liked to "disappear" and hide in his toybox.

Whenever we "found" him, his giggles were so cute and so contageous!  Ori was so precious.

I think you need to build a relationship with butlers to keep them around, but skeeball machine and photobooth are so much better :P Ori is sooo adorable!!

It was the strangest thing, the butlers. I had the household make friends with them, especially Rena since she was home all the time, but they vanished after a few days. Oh well. I had more fun with the photobooth anyway, which you'll see in the next chapter or two. Money well spent for sure :)

Gotta love both  ;D

Chapter 27- Dinner and a Show

I got a few minutes of chess practice in to work on my Logic skill before it was time for Ori's birthday.

Grandma Rena beat the other grandparents to Ori and brought him to the cake.  Here's one of the last shots of our butler Tonya before she disappeared.  We still hear from her on occassion when she calls and asks Grandpa DD out on a date.  Kraig, our other butler has called all of the women in our household, including myself who just so happens to still be married, and asks us out on dates too.  They are very interesting to say the least...

Here's Ori after he found some big kid clothes to suit him:

We updated Ori's bedroom after his birthday too.

Then it was off to the art studio with Grandma Rena to get his museum pieces done in his watermelon swimmy trunks.

Ori asked Mom to tutor him so he could start off the school year with an A.  Mom agreed and they sat upstairs all afternoon studying under the watchful eye of Grandpa Marcos, who was enjoying the row of rocking chairs we put in place for our ghosties.

Grandma Rena painted another masterpiece portrait.  It's beautiful!

After he finished studying with Mom, Mom introduced him to his Great x3 Grandpa Hiller.  Ori was pretty excited to meet a real live ghost...well, sort of.

Grandma H is an awesome cook.  It is so fun to watch her make stuff in the kitchen.  I guess you could call it a dinner and a show.  She's a chef extraordinaire for sure!

When we weren't mesmerized by Grandma H's cooking skills, we got some work done.  I got another promotion in my career and Steve congratulated me with a sparring match.

On my way to the kitchen after sparring with Steve, I realized that I had forgotten something in all of the excitement that went on today: it was my Adult birthday!

I aged up with the same hairstyle that my Mom always aged up with.

After fixing my hair and clothes, it was off to the art studio for my penultimate museum pieces.

Steve, meanwhile, headed to our bedroom to work on his Athletic skill.  He maxed it, therefore competing his Lifetime Wish.  Congrats!!

When I went to work the next day, I didn't realize that today would also be cause for celebration.  I got my final promotion and reached the top of the Forensics branch!

I was very happy to have another requirement off of my list.

I'm going out of town with my family for the next few days so the next update won't be until later this week, possibly Wednesday night if we return at a reasonable hour.  Hopefully everyone can hang on until then  ;D

Yay! for everything that's happened so far! And hmm... by inspecting Ori's bedroom I see quite a few plants, and a lot of green. And since I am the world's best dynasty reader, I don't remember if you have a gardening supermax. Ori is gardening, I think  ;D

I never thought about it that way.  That is actually a really good guess based on the evidence!  Haiiro and DD both maxed the gardening skill so it is actually off the table as a supermax.  However, Ori's supermax does involve certain plants and gardening, but that's all I'm going to say for now  ;D

I can hang on until then. It's worth the wait. I love this dynasty.  ;D

Thanks CeresIn!  I appreciate it  ;D

Chapter 28- Alchemy Artisan

Steve and I got a chance to try out the photo booth that we installed upstairs.  We had a lot of fun with it!  I framed our photos and hung it above our bed so I could have a keepsake of the happiness that Steve and I shared for all eternity.

Anyway, it was time for Ori to grow up again.  He was going to be a teenager.  Ori was excited because he knew he would finally be able to begin working on his supermax skill.  Having been in a similar situation, I totally understood.

Ori decided to continue wearing olive green, his namesake, with his favorite color, black.  It is a very nice combo.

Steve and I made sure to send Ori up to the art studio immediately after aging up so we could sneak in his birthday gifts.

As per tradition, we got Ori a car for his birthday.  Steve taught his son how to drive.

But the gift that Ori was most excited about was the alchemy station that we bought for him.  He had always had an interest in the supernatural so we thought he would enjoy learning about alchemy.

Before he touched the alchemy station, Ori made sure to study with his Grandmother to get another A before school started.

Ori was up bright and early the next morning to dabble around with his alchemy station before school started.

He had a lot of fun discovering potions.

Ori went to school and quickly got on the Honor Roll with his stellar grades, continuing the Sakura tradition.  Also continuing the Sakura tradition, Ori was voted Prom King.  His prom seemed to fare better than mine, but he did ask a girl to dance with him but she rejected his offer.  Instead, Ori just danced with his friends.

While Ori was out at prom, I continued working on my skill challenges.  I finally logged enough hours of meditation to check another requirement off of my list!

I had a special visitor that night that came to congratulate me: my Dad.

Grandma H cooked up a special dinner for me to celebrate me completing another skill challenge.  She seemed pretty pleased with how the meal turned out.

My darling husband also congratulated me taking another step toward my immortality with a kiss and some flowers.

What a wonderful man :)

Clever, outsmarting me. why do I make it sound so hard? It really isn't  :P I love how much ChaCha-woman (I think she's the narrator, again best dynasty reader ever.) talks about Steve, it's so sweet.

You are an awesome dynasty reader  ;D  ChaCha is immortal, so Mizu is the current heir.  Since she's the current heir, Mizu is the narrator.  I figured it would be more fun to write from the different heirs' perspectives than just hearing from Haiiro the whole time, which was one of my initial ideas.  And I love Mizu.  She's just so different from her mother  :)

Chapter 29- Birthday Boys

Steve's birthday arrived quicker than we had anticipated.  This was a birthday neither he nor I were really looking forward to: his Elder birthday.  But Steve stepped up to the cake with grace and dignity.  And an open bathrobe to show off his awesome physique.

I assured Steve that he was just as handsome and wonderful as before.  Maybe even more.

After Steve's birthday, Mom got on a tangent about something or other and decided to literally get on her soapbox and pull out her megaphone.  Right in the middle of the hallway.

I ran outside to work on my skill challenges.  Even if my only one left was to finish my 75 sparring matches, I was just happy to be away from the noise.

A few days later, Steve received his final promotion.  He was now an astronaut, having reached the top of the Military career.

Since he was at the top of his career, Steve only worked one day a week, giving him a lot more free time to do as he pleased.  He sat with me, reading his Mechanical skill books, while I continued to work on improving my Logic skill.

Within a couple of days, he had maxed it.

The next birthday in the house was Ori's.  I still couldn't believe that my little boy was going to grow up into a Young Adult.  I may not have been ready for this birthday, but Ori definitely was.

As a Mom, that look scares me.  The girls of Appoloosa Plains better watch out!

Ori always had a fondness for hats, which continued into adulthood.

Ori had some nice girls that he had gone to school with, but he never really expressed any interest in any of them.  He came home one day and mentioned that he met some girl and wanted to invite her over.  Her name was Gena Torres (Note: I've been pronouncing it as "Gina" and not "Jenna" since I've seen it pronounced both ways but either works).  We all just happened to be doing things outside at the same time that Ori and Gena were outside.  They started off by just talking, getting to know each other.  And then it happened.

Much to everyone's delight, Gena reciprocated Ori's kiss.

He presented her with a lovely pink bouquet of flowers.  Ori must have learned that from his father :)

Then they made it official.  Ori and Gena were now a couple.  I wonder if it will go further...we can only hope!

Very good!  Mizu does have a clone from the original eight (see, you are a good dynasty watcher  ;) ).  Generation 7 is absolutely awesome.  She is so much fun.  The only problem is that the household is at 8 people, so someone needs to leave...

Happy birthday to the boys. Whoa, Ori is very handsome, Gena is really lucky! :D

Ori lucked out and got really good genes from his parents.  Both Steve and Mizu are both really ripped and muscular from being so athletic, so Ori naturally has amazing abs  :D

Chapter 30- The Final Wedding

We were all so excited when Ori got down on his knee and magically pulled out a box from his pocket.  Gena was just as excited as we were.

Gena then moved into the household and promptly got a makeover.

She had lovely blond hair, but Mom gave her some highlights to brighten things up a little.  (Note: Her blond hair made her look really, really pale, so I had to add some highlights.  I tried not to adjust anyone's features so nothing would influence the genetics, but I made an exception in this case  :) )

For her first order of business as a part of this household, Gena went up to the art studio to have her museum pieces done.

Then, she and Ori had some fun with the photo booth.

Gena's traits included Green Thumb, Schmoozer, Charismatic, Ambitious, and Friendly.  She wanted to become a Star News Anchor, so she promptly got a job at the local newspaper office.  Ori, meanwhile, got a job at the local hospital.  He decided to join the Medical career.  They were going to hold off on their wedding until the weekend, but their plans were changed.  Gena was apparently hit by some aging bug and, even though she was the same age as Ori when she joined the household, aged up to Adult the same day she joined us.  We were all a little surprised at this, but I suppose that works out in the long run because their daughter will need a spot in the household to bring in the final heir...

It was definitely a sad, yet wonderful moment to see Ori and Gena exchange vows.  Grandma H was especially sentimental because she knew that this was the last wedding of the dynasty.

We surprised them with a honeymoon trip to China.  The newlyweds seemed pretty happy.

Ori had purchased a second alchemy station and had it sent to China to work on his skill while he and Gena were away.

Gena took some time to begin working on her writing and charisma skills for her new job.

And yes, that is Steve in the background.  Ori knew that his father was...getting older and talked to Gena about bringing him along on their trip.  She agreed.  Steve took the time finish leveling up in some of the skills he had been working on.  Ori got started on some of his alchemy skill challenges.

One skill challenge in the bag!

Ori did make time for his wife and his father, of course.  He talked about having children with Gena.  Steve and I had both wished to become grandparents immediately after Ori and Gena' wedding, but Steve wouldn't be able to see his granddaughter.  We were at 8 people in the household and needed room for the next heir.  That meant one thing and one thing only.  Steve really didn't know how to break this news to his son, so he avoided the reality of what had to happen in order for Ori to have his daughter.

Dynasty rules could be so unfair sometimes.

Gena is very lovely with her new outfit and hairstyle. It is so so sad that Steve will have to go before he sees his grandkid, at least he got to enjoy some time with his son. :(
