Unfortunately, I could only see the last photo. But either way, good chapter and cogratz to Mo on finding The One

It looks like starvation, you might want to add a snow-cone machine to stop more deaths (oh wait you've already completed the dynasty)

If memory serves, he died of starvation.  It wasn't something I was really paying attention to because I was focusing on Mo and Michael and listening for chimes.  Looking at his tombstone, though, it looks like eating utensils on it, so starvation makes sense.

That's a really good idea!  I'll have to keep that in mind for Rigel Duty.  They're getting pretty popular in Monte Vista.

Unfortunately, I could only see the last photo. But either way, good chapter and cogratz to Mo on finding The One

I think the photos are up and working so we should be good now  :D

Chapter 40- The Final Heir?

Regardless of what was going on outside, I was still really happy after what happened between Michael and me inside.  The only problem was that we never heard chimes.

Over the next day, things progressed as normal.  I was a little on edge because I was waiting for some confirmation that the last heir was on the way.  I did get some enjoyment out of watching Grandma Mizu training my Dad on her exercise equipment.  She's still really fiesty for someone her age.

I invited Michael over again later that day.  Grandma Rena also seized the opportunity to drag Michael into the art studio to get a sculpture and portrait of him for the museum.

After posing for Grandma Rena, Michael headed down to the kitchen to cook some dinner for all of us.  He was so wonderful to my crazy family.

Michael even made friends with some of the ghosts.

And where was I during all of this?  I was making a mad dash to the nearest bathroom.  As annoying and uncomfortable as this was, I was hoping that this was a good, good sign.

Confirmed and so very relieved.

I immediately went to find Michael to tell him the good news.

The relationship that Michael and I had certainly wasn't the norm but whatever it was, it was ours and we were happy to be together.

And even if we couldn't live under the same roof, it didn't mean Michael couldn't spend practically every waking-or in this case, sleeping-moment with me.

We were just happy to be together.

I spent the next few days taking it easy and brushing up on my skills.  I was interrupted when I was suddenly hit with some really strong pains.

My Dad rushed me to the hospital.  One of the Elders called Michael to let him know what was going on and he came to the hospital as quickly as he could.  Together, we welcomed our son, Shikon Sakura, into the world (Shikon is a blue/purple color).  He is Artistic and Hates the Outdoors.

We transformed the last remaining empty room on the third floor into a nursery for Shikon.  We made it blue and purple for his namesake and because those colors go great together.

The Elders immediately fell in love with little Shikon.  I think it was also partially for sentimental reasons because my little boy was the last baby in the dynasty.  Everything now rested on his tiny little shoulders.

I did manage to sneak in some time with my son too.

And Dad made sure to spend time with his one and only grandchild.

Shikon was loved by all of his Elders.  He gave them hope that the light at the end of the tunnel was closer than it seemed.

Mo and Michael seem to be perfect for each other, that's for sure! I love the blue&purple combination a lot so I can already see that I'm going to love little Shikon! :D

I agree.  The finish line is visible, but yet soooo far away.  It's all up to little Shikon.

Thanks, KRae!  Glad you're enjoying it.

As a bonus, white is his favorite color so I have an awesome color scheme to work with this generation  :)

Chapter 41- We Shall Call Him...Mini Mo

Shortly after Shikon's birth, I had my Adult birthday.  That meant that I was one step closer to immortality.

But I aged up with this hairstyle again...

While I ran off to fix my hair, the Grandma's resumed fighting over Shikon.  Grandma ChaCha beat Grandma Rena to him this time and Grandma Rena wasn't too pleased.

That worked out for the better though because I had to have Grandma Rena take care of my penultimate museum pieces since I was now an Adult.

My birthday was nothing special compared to the next birthday in our household.  The next birthday was Shikon's toddler birthday.  We were all so excited to see who Shikon would look like.  Michael had blond hair and lovely brown eyes and I was so hoping that Shikon would look like his Daddy in some way or another.

The moment of truth...

And Shikon is a miniature me!  The red hair and hazel eyes are all me.  Well, the red hair can be traced back to Grandpa Blaine and it seems to still be going strong.  Shikon does have Michael's skin color though.

Red hair, blond hair, pink hair, blue hair; it didn't matter to any of us what Shikon looked like.  Sure, looking like Michael would have been wonderful but Shikon is such a sweet little boy that it didn't matter.  We all loved him so, so much.  And how could you not with that adorable little face?

After his birthday, Grandma Rena brought Shikon up to the art studio for his first museum pieces.  She took a little longer than usual but I could understand why.  The number of remaining museum pieces was slowly winding down and Grandma Rena only had six more sittings to do.  It was bittersweet, I suppose.  So close and yet so far.

Since I was pretty close to completing my requirements, the dynasty now primarily rested on my little boy's shoulders.  Even if I didn't always like the rules, I did appreciate the fact that I knew ahead of time what was expected of me.  It wasn't just sprung on me at dinner one evening like: "oh, hey, by the way...".  I made sure to tell Shikon all about what he needed to do so then we could all be free of the dynasty.  My wonderful little boy listened intently with his sweet little smile.

Okay, so he had a sweet little smile most of the time.

And since the toddler days for the family were permanently winding down, I wanted to put in some toddler spam.  These days go by way too fast.

Rockin' out with Grandma ChaCha.

Grandpa DD made sure to tell Shikon all about the importance of finding a job that he loves when he grows up because he was going to be doing it for a long, long time.

I'm not sure if Shikon was making this face because he was outside (he has the Hates the Outdoors trait) or because of having to listen to Grandpa DD talk about how great the outdoors were.  Either way: absolute cuteness.

Kudos to anyone who caught that the chapter title is a reference to Austin Powers  ;D

Thanks guys!  I was so hoping for some sort of appearance of Michael's genes besides skin color but nope.  Blaine strikes again.

Chapter 42- The Last Toddler Spam

Having a house full of Elders and one Adult, Shikon was never short of attention.  There was always someone there to play with him or teach him his important skills.

Shikon just loved his Grandma Mizu.

Once he mastered walking, talking, and potty training, Shikon was able to play with some of the many toys he had in his room.

(I love the reaction of the toddlers when they hit the xylophone and sort of surprise themselves that it made noise.  Adorable.)

Grandma ChaCha, who mastered Guitar, Drums and Piano, was sure to give her Great-Great Grandson some pointers on the xylophone.

And more toddler spam because those days were quickly coming to an end.

Once I knew Shikon was ready to progress into this childhood years with no problems, I continued working on my own skills so I could achieve immortality when I aged up into an Elder.  I maxed the Charisma skill and since I had already completed the skill challenges previously, it was officially supermaxed.

That was one of the last requirements that I could do at home, so I now had a lot more free time to spend with Shikon.  When he was sleeping or one of the Elders got him first, I decided to start learning the Guitar.

Early in the morning on the weekend, I invited Michael over for Shikon's birthday.  Michael, the sweetheart, brought some country bread for us.

Then, I brought our little guy downstairs for his Childhood birthday.

Michael was right there, cheering him on.

We certainly didn't have a traditional family in any sense, but it was ours and we were going to enjoy every moment of it.

We all gathered around the kitchen as Shikon transformed from a cute little boy...

...into a handsome young man.  Grandma Mizu said Shikon looks a lot like my Dad when he was younger.

Now that he no longer needed a crib or anymore baby things, Michael and I redid Shikon's room.  We made sure to buy him the best laptop we could find because now Shikon could begin working on his own requirements.

Even though we were one step closer to the finish line, the real work was just beginning.

The last toddler is always the hardest to come to terms with. It was for me, anyways. At least Shikon is a cute little thing. :D

I was so sad when I sold all of the baby/toddler things instead of putting them in the family inventory  :'( but I can still get my fill over in Rigel Duty!

Very good catch!  Shikon will supermax writing.  It should be an easy skill for him because he has so much to write about with his family.

Chapter 43- Superstar Actress

After his birthday, Grandma Rena took Shikon up to the art studio to work on his Child musem pieces.

The next day was Shikon's last day off before starting school.  He was sort of excited but also sort of nervous at the same time to start school.  I thought it would be nice for him to get out the house of Elders and meet some kids his own age.  Despite being somewhat nervous, Shikon talked to Grandma H and she tutored him to help him get a good start to the school year.

When Grandma H had to leave for work, Dad volunteered to help Shikon.

Once he felt better about starting the school year, Shikon sat down at the computer to start learning a new skill: writing.  He picked it up really quickly.

Shikon wrote well into dinnertime.  Speaking of dinner, we had to add a second table because of all the ghosts dining with us every night.

But one of the nice things about having so many ghosts in the house was that they were very helpful and cooked us dinner quite often.

When we finally managed to pull Shikon away from the computer to come to dinner, he told us all about his immediate love for writing.  I was so happy to see him so happy.  Everyone was happy that he was happy too.

Shikon did amazingly well in school and I was happy to hear that he made some friends too.  He made the honor roll and had stellar grades all throughout elementary school.  But those days soon came to an end and we were quickly approaching my little guy's teen birthday.  Teen.  How could I be the mother to a teenage boy already?  I tried to make these fleetings moments last a little longer by spending some time with Shikon before went we downstairs to celebrate his birthday.

I gave him one last hug before we headed downstairs to the birthday cake awaiting his presence.

Everyone, including the ghosts, gathered around to watch little Shikon blow out his birthday candles.

Shikon was pretty excited to age up.

I couldn't hide my smile when I saw that Shikon aged up with his father's hair.

I agreed to let Shikon keep his hair a little longer in honor of his father.

And, as a birthday present from Michael and me, we got Shikon a car.

After his birthday, it was back up to the art studio to work with Grandma Rena on Shikon's next set of museum pieces.  While he posed for the pieces, Shikon only had one thought on his mind.

But before he got started on his best selling novels, Shikon sat down with Grandma ChaCha to get some tutoring in before starting high school on Monday.

I'm not quite sure what Grandma ChaCha was teaching Shikon but whatever it was, it seemed to confuse them both...

Regardless of what Grandma ChaCha ended up teaching Shikon, it seemed to help because Shikon immediately got good grades when he started school on Monday.  I also had a great day on Monday.  I got my final promotion and became a Superstar Actress.  Becoming a Superstar Actress completed my requirements and also my Lifetime Wish.  Not bad for one promotion!
