Sims 3 Family tree People still shown alive!

This is my first post so please correct me if i do things wrong. In my Sims 3 game I am trying to make a large family, I'm on the 3rd generation, and when my 3rd generation Sims get into a relationship with someone, there parents are dead but in the family tree it still shows they are still alive. how do i fix this?
(I have Nightlife, Pets & High-end Loft Stuff)

Do you mean that they still show up normally in the thumbnails? It just happens sometimes. Usually it means that the game didn't preserve their tombstone.

ya i think that is it. is there anyway to fix it?
