Congrats to Anna on completing her second LTW!  And kudos to Jack for realizing that it is not wise to bet against a fairy, especially when that fairy is your sister  ;)

Something I discovered that may help people.

Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous says "Have celebrity level 5. Be worth 100,000 simoleans."

What it actually MEANS is "Have 100,000 simoleans cash". I found that out after selling a load of stuff to hit the target. Then I re-bought it all.

I apologise for the lack of updates here.

I thought it would be a good idea to run Sims 3 off my Solid State drive. What I didn't realise is that I'd need to reinstall the whole lot in order to do so... which takes a while when you have all EP's and SP's!

Hopefully there should be an update today or tomorrow! :) In the mean time, I did find the original Anna... the one I actually started playing with... and her brother Matt! I uploaded them to the Swap Shop for anyone that might want them.

Wayne’s suggestion of moving onto the hill with the other celebrities had been on Anna’s mind, even while she slept. When she awoke, he was already up and on the family computers, so she decided to use her laptop. It would be worth at least investigating the prices.

Anna: “Hey love? Remember your idea of moving up onto the hill?”
Wayne: “Yeah. What about it?”
Anna: “We can’t afford it.”
Wayne: “Ask Kerry if she wants to move in then?”
Anna: “Are you sure? I mean… it’s another person in the house.”
Wayne: “She seems nice. The kids seem to like her and I think it might do you good.”
Anna: “Alright then. I’ll ask her.”

After a shower and some breakfast, Anna got straight on the phone to Kerry. The kids were at school by now, and Wayne had just gone off to work, probably for his last shift ever.

Kerry: “Hey Auntie Anna. What’s up?”
Anna: “Wayne’s had a mad idea.”
Kerry: “Oh dear… what’s he done now?”
Anna: “We want to move up onto the hill, but can’t afford it. He said I should see if you want to move with us?”
Kerry: “What… really?! You want me to move in with you guys?”
Anna: “Sure! The kids seem to like you and Wayne thinks it might be good for us to be closer to each other.”
Kerry: “Alright… sure! I’ll sell my apartment and move in with you guys. Just give me a basement or something out of the way so I’m not in the way all the time… and I’ve kinda got used to my own space.”
Anna: “We can do that!”

And so it was done. The family now had three adults and two teenagers, plus a rather large house to themselves.

Once they were moved in, Anna sent text messages to Wayne, Jack and Sarah so they knew where to go home. Kerry went straight out to do some work, and the Fairy decided to work on a new garden. She’d had to leave all of her plants behind.

The next couple of days were spent actually settling into the house. The kids claimed their rooms, Kerry claimed the basement, though insisted the family needed a mausoleum “because all rich people had them”, so they hired builders to put that up in the corner of the garden. Once everything was finally settled, Anna and Wayne were able to have a little alone time.

Anna: “How do you think we’re doing?”
Wayne: “Big house, plenty of simoleans to make sure we won’t be broke. I think we’re doing good.”
Anna: “I actually meant with the kids… but good point.”
Wayne: “Oh… they’ll be graduating soon, won’t they?”
Anna: “Mmhmm.”
Wayne: “Good grades, haven’t been in trouble. I think we’ve done really well.”
Anna: “Yeah… I guess we have.”

Wayne was due to go to work the next day, but he had other ideas.

Restaurant: “Hey Wayne, what’s up? Calling in a sickie?”
Wayne: “When have I ever done that?”
Restaurant: “Good point, so what’s wrong?”
Wayne: “I would like to retire. I’m old and want to spend what time I have left with my kids.”
Restaurant: “Can’t blame you. Alright, we’ll get the paperwork done and sent to HR so you’ll get your pension.”
Wayne: “Appreciate it.”
Restaurant: “Enjoy yourself. It’s been a pleasure working with you.”

Sarah had something of her own to deal with. Rumours at school claimed she’d been slandered for making out with a vampire… a vampire of all things! Truth be told… she hadn’t made out with anyone yet, and the teen was thoroughly upset. Her teacher suggested she go to City Hall and sue them, and that’s exactly what she did once classes were over.

Even though she won, she still needed to talk to someone about it.

Sarah: “Dad?”
Wayne: “Yes, munchkin?”
Sarah: “People have been spreading lies about me.”
Wayne: “I heard that.”
Sarah: “…you did? You don’t believe it, do you?”
Wayne: “If it were true, I’m sure you would have told your mother, who would have told me… so no.”
Sarah: “Oh good. I sued them and won anyway…”
Wayne: “That’s great!”
Sarah: “…did I handle it the right way?”
Wayne: “You’re a celebrity. Slapping people with a lawsuit is the only legal way to deal with stuff like that.”
Sarah: “Okay. Thanks… dad?”
Wayne: “Yes?”
Sarah: “Do we make you and Mom proud? Me and Jack, that is.”
Wayne: “More than you know, honey.”

Meanwhile, Kerry was having her own problems…

Ghost: “Hi Kerry!”
Kerry: “MOM! I’m trying to sleep!”
Ghost: “But I just want to see how you’re doing…”
Kerry: “I’m tired and I have work in the morning. Look… I’ll come see you tomorrow, alright?”
Ghost: *sigh* “Okay.”

…and even Anna had a visitor just before she went to bed!

Ghost: “Hi, Auntie Anna.”
Anna: “Well… now I know why Kerry wanted a Mausoleum. Hi Susan.”
Susan: “You’re not mad?”
Anna: “No. Just… don’t disturb my kids, alright?”
Susan: “I promise.”
Anna: “Are your Mom and Dad down there too?”
Susan: “Yes, but they aren’t active at the moment.”
Anna: “Good… I really should go see Matt at some point then.”

It seemed the house had gained a few more occupants, though they were only out at night. At the weekend, Wayne taught Jack to drive, and Jack went by the junkyard and brought something home.

Anna: “What on simland are you doing, Jack?”
Jack: “Hey Mom. I thought I’d restore this car since I can drive now.”
Anna: “Did you forget we’re rich and can buy you almost any car you want?”
Jack: “Nope.”
Anna: “So… why?”
Jack: “I don’t know. It just called to me, and I thought rebuilding a car might be good, you know? Teach myself how to maintain them to save money in the future.”
Anna: “I… I’m not even going to try and argue with that. Just don’t hurt yourself, alright?”
Jack: “You worry too much, Mom.”
Anna: “Shush. It’s in the job description.”

The end of the weekend marked Spooky Day, otherwise known as the twins birthday. They were about to become adults, and as such, Anna decided to throw one of her famous parties. She was not going to have her children take a major life step without a huge celebration to mark it! Sarah was first to the cake…

…and it looked like Anna had cloned herself! Except for the eyes.

Jack went next…

…and looked like a younger version of his father.

Once the kids had their cake, Wayne decided he was going to bed. His age was starting to catch up with him and he couldn’t party like everyone else these days. So while he slept…

…everyone else carried on partying!

After a good night’s sleep, both Jack and Sarah went to collect their graduation diploma’s, and then came home to take the Sims University aptitude tests. Both scored very well, so they packed up their clothes and decided to book in for a couple of terms. Wayne and Anna were both happy to see their children grown up and doing well. Soon enough, they were off to University, Sarah choosing a Fine Arts degree and Jack choosing Physical Education.

It was a new chapter in everyone’s lives.

The new house looks nice!  I am amazed on how identical both Jack and Sarah are to their parents.  I knew they looked similar, but their YA birthdays really proved it  :)

Sarah honestly scared me. From a distance, she could easily pass for Anna!

Just FYI, the next 1-2 updates are going to be the kids at Uni. :) I think they deserve the spotlight for a while!

EDIT: Here's some close up's of Sarah and Jack...

Interlude – University Life (Term 1)

The trip to Sims University didn’t take as long as either of the students thought, which was good since Sarah hated being cooped up for too long. They arrived and went straight to the administration centre to find out where they would be living. Both Jack and Sarah were rather surprised to find out they had been allocated a house.

Jack: “This is a bit big for us, isn’t it?”
Sarah: “Yeah, I was expecting to go into the dorms. Oh… my phone is buzzing.”

Once they got inside, the first thing Sarah did was to check her phone.

”Rented you a house. Hope you like it! – Love Mom”

Sarah: “Now I know why we have a house.”
Jack: “Why?”
Sarah: “Mom.”
Jack: “…I’m not even a little surprised… oh hey! A games console!”

Jack: “Awesome! It has FIFA!”
Sarah: “Good. I’ll kick the hell out of you on it.”
Jack: “Want to bet on that?”
Sarah: “Remember what happened the last time you bet against me?”
Jack: “Loser cooks for the entire term.
Sarah: “Wow! Ok, you’re on.”

Unfortunately for Sarah, Jack had been practising.

Sarah: “Oh, come on!
Jack: “Ha! I win! Now we’d better get to the welcome thing.”
Sarah “…you totally cheated…”

Now, the welcome event was supposed to allow students to mingle, get to know each other and speak to their tutors. That didn’t happen for Jack and Sarah…

Sarah: “Juice pong???”
Jack: “Oh, I heard about this. You have to try and get a ball in your opponents cup. If you do, they have to take a swig of juice.”
Sarah: “Fancy a game then?”
Jack: “Sure! Sounds like fun.”

They eventually staggered home, more than a little worse for wear, and went straight to bed. This actually worked in their favour, as it meant they were up nice and early. Sarah whipped up loads of food to go in the fridge, while Jack re-arranged the house more to their tastes. They really didn’t need three bedrooms, so one was turned into an art room for Sarah and Jack claimed the landing for his anatomy skeleton.

First day of classes went very well, with both students staggering back home around 7pm, eating and then going to bed. Getting up early in the morning seemed to agree with them as it gave time to study and play games on the computer, though Sarah decided to send an e-mail home instead of playing games.

From: [email protected]

Hi Mom,

Thank you for renting us the house. We had expected to be in the dorms, so it was a really nice surprise. I think having our own space will be for the best. I’ll say hi on behalf of Jack, because he’ll forget to e-mail you and he’ll ask me to do it anyway, you know what he’s like. First day of classes was yesterday, and we seem to both be doing fairly well, or so our teachers say!

Class starts at 12 today for both of us, so we have time to relax and study. Surprisingly, my cooking isn’t terrible (I lost a bet with Jack, so I’m cooking for the entire first term), but it’s not a patch on yours! How are you and Dad? And cousin Kerry?

Better go and get ready for the day, hope to hear from you soon!

Love,
Sarah.

That should stop any pesky text messages for a day or two. Their second day was a lot easier, so both students came home and got to work on studying. Jack boned up on his anatomy, while Sarah sat out in the back garden sketching. Then they played a few games together on the console and went to bed.

It was a good routine they had settled into, get up, shower, breakfast, study, classes, home, relax. The night before their exams, both of them decided a treat was in order, so they hit up the bowling lanes.

Arriving home, Sarah hopped on the computer to check her e-mails. She had a reply, and her face fell a bit.

Hi Sarah.

We’re glad to hear you’re settling in well! Keep those grades up and I’m sure both you and Jack will be coming home with degree’s in no time. Kerry is… well… being Kerry. I think she’s got a gig at one of the big performance parks later this week, so I might go and give her a little support. Now… I need to tell you something, but don’t freak out and don’t let it impact your grades, alright?

Your Dad isn’t well.

I’ve been taking him to the hospital and they say it’s just his age. He’s on medication for the first time in his life and has picked up, so that’s good, but I don’t think he’ll be well enough to come to your graduation next term. It’s up to you if you want to tell Jack, I trust your judgement.

Love always,
Mom.

Sarah: *sigh* “Dad…”

For now, she decided to keep that to herself. Jack was enjoying himself and doing well in classes. She didn’t want to risk ruining his grades. Her own were also very good, if not slightly better than his, and this just made her more determined to get a passing grade.

The next morning, the twins chatted over breakfast.

Jack: “I had an idea.”
Sarah: “Watcher help me…”
Jack: “Hey now. My last idea was good!”
Sarah: “It was. You had to do my laundry chores for a week!”
Jack: “Yeah, yeah… anyway… we’ve been working hard and partying little, right?”
Sarah: “Yeeeeah… I’d say that’s pretty right…”
Jack: “Our grades are good. So next term, minimal effort to keep them up, maximum partying!”
Sarah: “If we do well on the exams, I’d say sure.”
Jack: “Come on… we’ll ace those exams!”
Sarah: “…I hope you’re right…”

He was right.

Both of them passed with maximum marks and on the dean’s list for impressive academical performance. To celebrate, they treated themselves to a meal at SimBurger, with desert, then went home and passed out in bed.

It was now the end of term, and they had 1 more day before they’d been there for an entire week. Sarah was a little grumpy and needed to work out some of her frustrations, so she decided to go to the University Quad and apply her own brand of artwork.

Jack called one of his class mates that he’d chatted to a few times. They got on well, so he decided to ask her out on a date.

While Sarah was having a few issues…

…Jack was… uh… doing rather well for himself.

One day left until the start of term 2.

"Bone up on anatomy" is the actual interaction on the skeleton. :)

Managed to get loads of playing in yesterday. Kids got home from uni fine, and my liberal abuse of the "apply for extra funds" interaction finished Anna's LTW. >_>

Yeah the one time I played in Uni with that skeleton I had the same choke-on-my-drink reaction lol I'd just forgotten that was the "technical" terminology sims uses lol

You know... I actually haven't thought about it.

I just saw the kids come home, graduate (thank you stupid University Life bug) and then had a pop up saying Anna had completed her LTW. I'll probably go through the list and decide. She's doing a lot of gardening lately, so I'm considering the LTW that requires you to use Bloom X amount of times.

This one... seriously considering this one: http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/lifetimewishes/supernatural/greenergardens.php
