Wayne was sound asleep and the kids were still wide awake and wanting to play. Anna was feeling pretty good herself, so she decided to use this time to finish off teaching her kids their life essentials. Sarah went first, finally learning to walk, and Jack was potty trained shortly afterwards! That took most of the morning, and by the time Wayne got up, both kids were ready to age up to children.
Jack went first…
…followed by Sarah…
…and Wayne found the whole thing very amusing… for some reason.
A quick trip to the dresser for both of them, and Jack ended up looking almost like a mini version of his father…
…and Sarah was certainly taking after her mother!
Anna and the kids were all exhausted, so they all went to bed and Wayne decided to just play some computer games until it was time for work. All three woke up not long after he left. The kids got showered, ate breakfast and then ran into their new playroom. Jack found the blocks interesting, while Sarah worked on her painting.
Since the kids didn’t need quite so much looking after now, Anna went out to tend to her garden.
The day was fairly quiet in that respect. Wayne came home and went straight to bed. The kids followed not long afterwards as Anna wanted to get them into a routine ready for school. As for their mother, she just practiced the guitar until everyone got up again.
In a way, Jack and Sarah’s birthdays had arrived at the perfect time. The next day was love day, so they had another day of freedom before going to school. They found their mother sitting in one of the new chairs, reading a book.
Jake: “Hey Mom?”
Anna: “Hmmm?”
Sarah: “Can we go to the spring festival?”
Anna: “Hmmm… sure! I’ll get my limo to take the pair of you, but give it a couple of hours first. Best to go around midday. You might find other kids your age to play with.”
Jake: “Awesome! Thanks Mom!”
Sarah: “Yeah! Thanks Mom!”
Anna finished her book a few minutes later while the kids watched TV. Wayne had joined them and the three were having a nice chat when the doorbell went. Anna sighed and stood up, opening the door, a look of surprise on her face.
Anna: “Kerry???”
Kerry: “Hey, Auntie Anna… I’m a bit early, but I figured you’d be up and about.”
Anna: “Nono… it’s fine! Come in and say hello to everyone!”
The two women went into the house, and Kerry was more than a little surprised at the family Anna had managed to gather around her.
Anna: “Wayne, Jake, Sarah… this is Kerry. She’s my niece, so kids… that means she’s your cousin.”
Sarah: “We have a cousin???”
Jake: “Awesome! Hi cousin Kerry!”
Wayne: (Try not to stare at the attractive woman…) “Hey there.”
Kerry: “Hey everyone. Auntie? We need to talk.”
Anna: “Oh! Yeah, you mentioned that. Kids, go play for a bit. You can harass Kerry later.”
Jake: *grumble* “Alright…”
Sarah: “See you later, cousin Kerry!”
The kids left the room letting the adults occupy the sofa. Kerry did have quite a serious look on her face, and she glanced at Wayne, unsure just how much of what she was about to say he needed to know.
Kerry: “Wayne? Do you know about Anna?”
Wayne: “That she can’t die of old age? Yeah, I know.”
Anna: “Like I’d get married and NOT tell him…”
Kerry: “Hey, I wanted to check before I drop even more bombshells.”
Anna: “So… what’s going on? And… you’re younger than I expected.”
Kerry: “That’s why I took a trip. I… can’t die either.”
Wayne: “Watcher help Bridgeport… I’m stuck between two immortals.”
Anna: “Okay, but you had to figure that was a possibility because of me.”
Kerry: “I did. I went to find out why.”
Anna: “And?”
Kerry: “Your Mom… Kahlee. She made a deal with Grim. Did your Dad happen to die suddenly?”
Anna: “Actually yeah… he did. Mom said he died while we were still toddlers in something work-related. He was a cop, so I didn’t think anything of it.”
Kerry: “Well… it seems that she sacrificed his soul to Grim to extend her own life.”
Anna: “Except she died of old age-“
Kerry: “-and got resurrected. She’s in Midnight Hollow. Her deal with Grim means she has to kill
anyone in the family that shows signs of immortality… meaning me and you.”
Anna: “But… that can’t be possible!”
Kerry: “Auntie Anna… I
saw her. She’s a very powerful Witch and I’ve no idea if the Doctor I went to meet survived or not. She’s alive and she’ll be coming for us.”
Anna: “So… what can we do?”
Kerry: “Well I can’t do a thing. I don’t have any magic. At least you might be able to defend yourself.”
By this point, Wayne had wandered off to get the kids and take them out to the spring festival. Anna stopped her conversation long enough to give both of the kids a hug. She needed to know if her family were safe, and Kerry confirmed they would be if they didn’t interfere, or show signs of immortality. The two women caught up, with Kerry eventually leaving to buy somewhere to live and Anna going to bed.
As for the kids, they went egg hunting!
Wayne had ordered a basement extention on the house, which was completed while Anna slept.
Even he was hunting eggs, but had less luck than the kids. When the evening crept in, the kids played Horseshoes, while Wayne decided to dance and embarrass them.
When Anna awoke, they still weren’t back yet. She sent a message to Wayne, letting him know she was going out to The Brightmore.
It was a job her agent had given her a long time ago, but the kids came first. Wayne came home to an empty house, but he was happy that his wife was going out and enjoying himself. The kids went straight to bed.
And Wayne wasn’t far behind them. As for Anna? She danced the night away, something she really needed after the chat with Kerry and being stuck in the house for days.

Yesterday was hectic. Had to take one of MY friends to A&E, which was amusing because I picked up my fiancee at the same time from visiting HER friend.
Really was one of those days. Anyway! Update done.
