I like to call this... the nooboo update. :)
**********
With the little nest egg tucked away in her bank account, Anna figured it might be nice to try and finish working on her celebrity status. Originally, she never wanted to be in the limelight, but at least this would help provide for the new family she was creating. She got up and dressed herself, going downstairs to make some breakfast for her and Wayne. When he finally got up, he found Anna parked in front of the TV.

Wayne: “You ok, my love?”
Anna: “Yep! I see you found breakfast ok.”
Wayne: “Yes, thank you. Now, are you going to be taking it easy?”
Anna: “Aside from cooking, yes I will. I figured maybe I should get used to watching kids TV.”
Wayne: *chuckles* “Ain’t that the truth. I did the laundry so you don’t have to do any heavy lifting. I’m supposed to be back at work today, but call me if you have to go to the hospital.”
Anna: “Don’t worry! I will call you if something happens.”

So Wayne went to his job working at the bistro, and Anna just relaxed and watched TV all day. In fact, she was in ** near the same position when Wayne got home. He grabbed some spaghetti from the fridge and sat in the living room so they could chat.

Anna: “Do you think we’re ready for this?”
Wayne: “Well, we’d better be since fate has decided that we are.”
Anna: “That’s true. Oooh…”
Wayne: “What?”
Anna: “Nothing. Just a slight tw-ouch! …okay this might be more than a slight twinge…”

To say that Wayne lost his mind would be a massive understatement. He was panicking about it more than Anna was, and didn’t even get to finish his meal. Still, he drove her to the hospital as fast as he possibly could…

…and a few hours later, they were rewarded with twins! Jack…

…and Sarah, who already had the same colour wings as Anna.

Both Anna and Wayne made sure the new arrivals were fed and put into bed before sleeping themselves. Tomorrow would be an interesting day.

Uhm, the playpen won't allow you to place both toddlers if one side is against the wall... But you probably already know that and are just putting it in the corner for storage 'til the nooboos are toddlers... OK shutting up now  :-X

Honestly, no I didn't know that as it's the first time I've used it... >_>

I'm seriously considering moving the nursery to the downstairs bedroom though, as it has slightly more room.

Oh wow awesome so I wasn't being a nutter lol. In the corner the way you have it you would only be able to put one of the toddlers in at a time. You need to have the sides that have the abacus on them open for your sim to get to then you can put one toddler on each side and they will interact with each other... At least I think it's the abacus side lol it's been a while since I've used it (my Gen 4 kids are teens already).

Thanks for the tip then! :)

What I'm thinking of doing is moving the nursery downstairs, as the old bedroom is bigger. When the two kids age up to child, turn that into a shared bedroom and turn the old nursery (which is the current one) into a full on play-room... and then turn it into a bedroom when they both hit teen years.

EDIT: Also, since my brain is apparently in overdrive on this project, I'm planning to try and squeeze in 2 updates today. One will be a "main" update and the other will be more of a side-story to compliment this... and will eventually entwine into it. :)

It was almost like the new children knew exactly when to arrive. Wayne’s schedule meant he had the next couple of days off work, so he’d be around to help out Anna as much as possible. Unfortunately, he also slept like the dead, so it was Anna who woke up when the children started crying. She stumbled into the room, changed, fed and played with both of them.

When Wayne came in, he found Anna absolutely dead on her feet.

Wayne: “You look exhausted. Go get some sleep for a bit.”
Anna: “Can’t. The nooboo’s need me.”
Wayne: “Anna, I’m off work for the next couple of days. I can look after them. You look after yourself and go to bed.”
Anna: “…need food first.”
Wayne: “Okay, then I’ll go and cook something.”
Anna: “There’s leftovers. I’ll eat them and then sleep.”
Wayne: “Okay, you do that.”

Anna stumbled off downstairs while Wayne grabbed a shower and dealt with all the Laundry. He wanted to clean up the bedroom before she went back to bed. For once, she didn’t argue and went straight to get some sleep. As for Wayne, he made sure he had something to eat as well, and then hopped on the computer to play some games.

It was right outside the nursery, so he just turned the sound off and made sure he was playing something with a pause function. Once the nooboo’s started crying, he was straight there.

Despite his grumpy disposition, he seemed to be something of a natural with the kids. Anna woke up late in the evening, just as Wayne was leaving the nursery. She didn’t say anything to him, simply walking over for a smooch.

Wayne: “I’m not complaining… but what was that for?”
Anna: “That was for stepping in and taking over when I was tired.”
Wayne: “I care. I’m not having you look after the kids alone if I’m off work… and even when I’m not, I’ll help as much as I can.”
Anna: “Well… thanks. Now how about some quality time, hmm?”
Wayne: “You’ve got my attention. What did you have in mind?”
Anna: “How about some SimCity?”
Wayne: *smirks* “Sounds like a good way to spend the evening to me.”

And that’s what they did, both of them grabbing a computer and playing games together. They were close to the nursery, so they could take care of the nooboo’s when needed, and were playing a private game so they didn’t have to worry about anything going horribly wrong. Wayne eventually went to bed, leaving Anna to do the night shift.

The next day was largely the same, with Wayne looking after the children while Anna slept and keeping himself amused by playing games on the computer, and Anna getting up later in the evening. There was a difference this day though, as it was the twins birthday.

Jack was the first to be taken to the cake…

…and turned into what can only be described as a mini version of his father!

Sarah was next…

…and though she didn’t gain any hair, she clearly had her mother’s wings!

Both toddlers were tired by the end of this, so Wayne and Anna fed them and put them to bed. Wayne went to bed himself, while Anna decided to start a garden for herself in the moonlight.

Things were going well, and she was happy. Once the seeds were planted, the Fairy decided to check her e-mail on the off-chance that Kerry had gotten in touch. There was a response, but it troubled her a little.

From: [email protected]
To: [email protected]

Auntie Anna,

The house sold and I told the realtor to wire half of the funds to your bank account. By the time you get this, you should have 60,000 simoleans sitting there.

I’m keeping this short, because I have something important to do. I’m currently selling everything I don’t need and I’ve quit my job. I don’t know how much of a cell signal I’ll have, so I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to stay in touch with you easily.

If I can, I’ll get in touch, but I don’t know when that will be. Don’t worry, it’s nothing bad… I just need some answers.

Love always,
Kerry.

A soft sigh came from the Fairy as she read the message. ”Kerry… what are you doing… especially at your age…” She knew that Kerry would be an elder by now, so her mind instantly went to medical problems.

It was worrying to say the least.

As I mentioned earlier, this is my second update in a day. It is taking the story away from Anna for a bit, and should only be 2 parts absolute maximum.

When I started this project, I only intended it to be a "complete every LTW" thing. Instead, I'm finding my mind throwing idea's at it until the right one's stick... so I'm hoping to turn it into something more. This update is part of that, so I would really appreciate constructive criticism. :) Anyway... here we go...
**********
A Dark Secret - Part 1.

This is where he lived? A renowned scientist, geneticist and inventor? Here?!

The woman sighed and whipped out her cell phone. The reception was pretty terrible, but she’d downloaded all of her e-mails ahead of time. A niggling feeling in the back of her mind told her she would need to do that, and it seemed that feeling had been completely and utterly right. She checked the address once more, and it seemed that Midnight Hollow was, indeed, the correct place to be. Flagging down a taxi was easy enough, and the newcomer to the little city was soon on her way to the address she had been given.

Finding the house really wasn’t difficult, and more like what she expected for a world-renowned Doctor.

A single hand pushed the gate open and she walked the path to the door, shuddering slightly at the odd plants in the front garden. The bell rang, and within moments, a PlumBot opened the door and stepped outside.

Eva: “Can I help you?”
Woman: “I… have an appointment with Doctor Rathbone.”
Eva: “Please hold still… scanning to confirm identity.”
Woman: (“Why didn’t she just ask me…”)
Eva: “Identity and appointment confirmed. Please come in, Kerry Watkins. You can wait in the living room, it’s the first door on the right. I’ll inform my father that you’re here.”
Kerry: “Um… thanks.”

Not wanting to argue with a robot, her Grandmother Lois said they could have short tempers, Kerry did as she was asked, taking a seat on the sofa and simply waiting for this doctor to arrive.

It was only a few minutes before he wandered in from the kitchen.

Dr Rathbone: “Ms Watkins? Dr Steven Rathbone. I’ve been expecting you… though I do not normally take visitors via e-mail… especially ones that will not discuss their ailment.”

Kerry stood up and moved to the side of the sofa, the Doctor crossing the room surprisingly quickly for a man of his advanced years.

Kerry: “I’m sorry for the secrecy… I really am. But this is something that I didn’t want getting out. If my family knew…”
Steven: “Calm down. Just tell me what the problem is.”
Kerry: “I… don’t think I can die.”
Steven: “Explain. Are we talking ‘can’t be hurt’ not dying, or just not aging?”
Kerry: “I don’t mean to offend, but I should be your age… and I’m not. I stopped aging just after I became a mature adult.”
Steven: “I see. Drink anything odd? Say… pink and potion shaped?”
Kerry: “No.”
Steven: “Anyone else in your family have this condition.”
Kerry: “Yes, but out of respect for their privacy, I would rather not reveal who.”
Steven: “Ah. So I really need to do some work then, especially if you want this fixed.”
Kerry: “I don’t think I want it fixed. I just want to know if it can be passed onto any children I may have.”
Steven: “Then let’s make a start. I do love a good mystery. First, some mental tests.”

Something Kerry learned quickly was that Dr Rathbone did love his ink blot tests. He went through several of them, testing what she saw for easily half an hour before she finally decided to question him on it.

Kerry: “Alright, enough with the ink blots! What are they for anyway?”
Steven: “Well… two things really. One, I like them and you will indulge me if you want my help. Two, I was making sure you weren’t insane.”
Kerry: “And?”
Steven: “…and you have a very active imagination, but you aren’t insane. Come, let’s go to my lab.”

The strange Doctor led Kerry out of the living room, through the hall and into an adjoining room with a spiral staircase heading downstairs. She noted the two PlumBot charging stations, and found that a little odd since she’d only actually met Eva. In the basement, it was very clear she was in the presence of a great mind. There was a bot-creation station, an inventing desk, a time machine, some random old book and a science station. Steven also seemed to have a pet deathfish and kept a computer in the basement, which Kerry assumed was for his notes. He was already standing by the science machine, with a gadget of some description in hand.

Steven: “I need a DNA sample.”
Kerry: “So you can run gene sequencing to work out exactly what’s going on, right?”
Steven: “Yes. How did you know that?”
Kerry: “Auntie Susan was a very accomplished surgeon and gene therapist before she died.”
Steven: “So that’s why your name is familiar. You’re related to Susan Watkins. Now it makes sense.”
Kerry: “Yep. So do what you need to.”

The sample was acquired fairly quickly and Steven moved to start analysing it immediately.

Steven: “This will take a while. My house is at your disposal. But if you want to make yourself useful, feed Everett.”
Kerry: “Everett?”
Steven: “The Deathfish.”

Since this man was helping her out at no cost, Kerry didn’t feel she could really refuse.

Kerry: “You must be a great fisherman to catch such a perfect specimen.”
Steven: “Fish? Me? Nono… that means going outside. Eva caught a normal Deathfish. I cloned Everett from it.”
Kerry: “…oh.”

Sometimes it’s better not to know. Kerry sat down at the computer and used it to play some games while Steven finished up his research. A few hours went past, and the woman actually fell asleep sitting in the chair. Her dreams were… strange… and she wasn’t sure if it was to do with being in such an odd place, in the presence of a man she barely knew, or simple exhaustion. She awoke with a start, an image and phrase burning itself into her mind.

”Kerry… I see you…”

A hand was on her shoulder when she woke up, almost making the woman fall out of her chair. When she turned around, it was just Steven.

Steven: “You were having bad dreams. I suggest you put them to one side because I need you to do something.”
Kerry: “Mmm… what?”
Steven: “Step one: Get out of my chair. I need to do research. Step two: Go to the kitchen and get yourself a coffee. Step three: Go to the mausoleum. If my theory is correct, only two people with the name Watkins should be buried there. I need you to go and find those names to confirm if I am correct or not.”
Kerry: “Alright, whatever you say…”

So while Steven did research…

…Kerry explored the mausoleum, which was conveniently located in the graveyard right next door to Steven’s house.

Even while doing something important, she couldn’t get the image of those eyes out of her mind, and she was sure that someone was whispering to her…

”…your soul will be mine…”

Thanks! :D I spent most of last night and most of today getting screenshots for this, and I'm working on part 2 already.

I just wish my WiFi didn't suck so much so I could upload faster. I really need to buy upgraded home networking equipment and re-wire the house...
