Riverview ID Pollinator Help
« on: June 07, 2014, 10:30:20 PM »
I'm thinking about starting an Immortal Dynasty after my legacy is finished (since I'm only going to 5 generations.) And I'm thinking about it being in Riverview. But I'm not sure which male would be a good pollinator? I really want there to be a wide variety of gene's in the game. So i'm making a little "survey" on who would be best regarding skills, traits, and gene's.

Here's the list and then down below there will be multiple things to label these.
Billy Caspian (He had to be in here somewhere.)
Hal Breckenridge (It would make sense for him to be the pollinator because he has commitment issues.)
George Dean
Bennie Dean(elder, so he would die soon and i could bring in another male to pollinate.)
Aiden Jones (He may be married, but he's pretty handsome.)
Jebidiah Wilson (Pretty old, he ages up soon after game starts.)
Don Lothario (also commitment issues)
So, I was thinking if I got Bennie Dean then when he dies I could get another guy in there.
But here are the "Categories so to speak"
First Pollinator (preferably older so he can die and I can bring in another one.)
Second Pollinator (If we bring in an older guy, if we get a younger guy then we'll only use one pollinator.)
Cloned (Get DNA from at very beginning then clone later on after first pollinator dies.)
Spouse Material (One to use for my founder)
Best skills
Best traits
Best gene's
Thanks guys! Just post down below who you think would be good! Thanks guys!
*Not sure if surveys like this are allowed, I just didn't think I could do the survey button with so many questions/categories.*

While I'm debating as to whether this is on the right board or not, I feel obligated to give an opinion.

Spouse: Doesn't matter. I personally wouldn't choose Billy Caspian just because he's the Chris Steel of Riverview, but proportionately even more overused as a spouse. If you move him in, make him a painting pollinator for the sake of spicing things up. ;)

First Pollinator: Anyone old and, preferably, without kids. In fact, keep a few spots open in the beginning because Riverview has plenty of older men. So I wouldn't use Bennie Dean for that role because he already has a son, but his roommates would be good options. I'd consider Lucky Perkins too, mostly just because he's old and childless. I don't know if his genes are any good or if he could be of any use other than pollination, though.

Second: Probably Jebidiah. He's not an elder when you start, but will be elderly by the time your first pollinator dies. Also, commitment issues isn't needed to have a successful pollinator; one of my most successful ones was a hopeless romantic. Hopeless romantics might even fare better as pollinators, because they're more likely to succeed with romantic interactions.

Generally, order your pollinators by age. Elders go first, and then you get sims who start off younger once they're old and grey.

I'm not as familiar with Riverview as others, so instead of trying to list sims with good skills/traits/genes/etc. and failing miserably, I'll link to Turoskel's analysis of Riverview, because she knows the town well.

If it were me I'd go with George Dean and Don Lothario, for their dashing good looks.  Though George would also be high on the list of potential spouses.

I have found that Inappropriate is an excellent trait for a pollinator to have.  You can kiss your potential babymama early on to make them a romantic interest, then take them on a rabbithole tour and knock 'em up quickly. :D  Of course, Melvin Taft might not have the genes you're looking for...

I love Riverview, George dean is one of my favourites for a spouse, but of course Billy Caspian is good for his painting skill, Nd hes not too bad loong either.

As for a pollinator, I love Henry McGlum. He's very dashing when you age him down, so he makes some good nooboos.
From the moment I fell down that rabbit hole I've been told what I must do and who I must be. I've been shrunk, stretched, scratched and stuffed into a teapot. I've been accused of being Alice, and of not being Alice, but this is my dream. I'll decide where it goes from here.

Melvin Taft once produced the ugliest female sim I've ever seen, he's hiding a hideous chin under that beard so unless you want that ruling the town I'd avoid him.

Henry is good though and he has some fishing skill, I've noticed in general Bennie dies first of the three grandpas, normally it's him, Ma bagley and Rayna Kaminski who are the first to go, order switches between them but I reckon they must be the oldest elders in town. Henry usually lasts a fair while so plenty of time for pollination.

Jebediah is also a good choice for genetics, give him less receding hair and he's pretty cute, he is a bit boring though in the personality department, an ambitious workaholic so maybe wont be great at wooing the ladies, I had a gold digger sim marry him a long time ago and he was just so dull I was glad when he died.

Lucky Perkins is easily impressed so likes to compliment the ladies quite a bit, he's not too bad looking aged down so might produce good babies. He can also cook a bit and has some fishing skill.

Jon Lessen is another good choice, he has the artistic trait, is a hopeless romantic, has a margaret vaguester, and is almost an elder.

I agree with Trip about Billy, I'll admit though he ended up in my life states dynasty mainly due to his occult status and the fact he kept kissing my heir, but he does love to paint, don't give him a computer though or he will waste hours posting inappropriate forum posts. And he makes good looking kids, so he would be a decent pollinator/painter.

As for spouses that depends on your time frame a little, there's lots of teen boys in town, some with great traits for an immortal dynasty such as Maximus McDermott with angler and Bob Newbie with artistic, and they both age up saturday of week two, in fact all the first batch of teens will be YA by then. It really depends on how soon you want to start a family, Sherman Bagley is also a decent choice, he's just a nice guy, good looking and his LTW is dynamic DNA profiler so he would need to learn painting for that.

And as has been mentioned George Dean, he's a closet pyromaniac who might just have killed his own mother, but other than that he's great, you might even end up with pyromaniac kids as hidden traits can get passed down.

Of course not sure my opinion of spouses is that great as I always marry into the evil family ;D
