Apocalypse Challenge problem

In this Challenge, two restrictions intersect to mean that I don't have the Handiness skill books and can't buy them at this point. But I also have a Sim who's working to lift one of the main early game restrictions, which requires Handiness (among other things). I have a Sim with Handiness in the family (her mother), and with Logic (also her mother), but I cannot find a way to get an adult to train a young adult. Is there such an option? The mother has Handiness 10 and Logic 8

If you get the mother up to Logic 10, she can train anyone in any skill that she possesses.

You could always use the modified version of Apocalypse challenge on our projects board. While the apocalypse challenge may be cool, the skill book restrictions literally make it impossible to complete. The gardening restriction is completely impossible and so the challenge can't be completed. So try the modified rules.

I solved the problem. Repairing the toilet twice gave the daughter Handiness 1, enough to use Tinkering. The mother's Logic is now 10, so she can train another daughter in Handiness for the Science restriction.
