Teen's girlfriend moved in?
« on: May 19, 2014, 10:28:50 PM »
Correction from Title: The sim that moved in is a young adult. My daughter sim is 11 days from aging into a young adult. Also, I have never used a cheat. I tried to use deletesim for a fireman that wouldn't move, and it didn't work, but nothing else.

Soo I was playing my main household and I decided to go see two other house with sims I had created just to see what they had been up to and when I returned, my sims teen daughter's girlfriend was moved in with them.. Has anyone had this happen? I was totally planning on her marrying a man and continuing my family line.. It's even stranger to me because my sim's daughter is a teen and the other is a young adult. What's up with that?! Just a glitch?

Whenever you leave your household to play a different one, anything can happen to the family you left.  Including other Sims moving in.  It's not a glitch, just part of Story Progression when you're not around to control things.

Yeah, but a teenager being in a relationship with a young adult, is that normal? Now that she lives there, when the two interact, there is no romantic option. But in the relationships panel it show they are girlfriends.

I know story progression likes to move partners in, is it possible they could have been partnered before the girlfriend became a young adult? it might not care about the difference in age just that they were partnered.

In saying that though I once had EA story progression move a teenage boy in with his teenage girlfriend, not so odd in itself but what was strange is when I switched to that house they were engaged  ???

So sometimes it does glitch and do things that aren't normally possible.

@jodysuzanne:  If the two girls were girlfriends as teens, they will still be girlfriends when one ages up.  No romantic interactions, though.  That's all normal for the game.

@Turoskel:  Your situation with a teen moving into the household sounds like a glitch.  Definitely the engaged part is glitched.  Teens cannot get engaged.  If you've got a mod that would allow something like this, then that's probably what happened.  If not, you've just got a glitched game.

Well when I left the house she had no romantic interest at all, but I suppose in the short time I was gone she could have started dating the other girl as a teen, and when she aged up she moved in. I really can't complain because she has a high gardening skill and I needed a free gardener!

The girlfriend is Peggy Macduff.

I've often seen teens moved in with other families Pam, if they are going steady, this is in Riverview where there are quite a few teens, but the engaged part was definitely a glitch and all with no mods, just regular EA story progression.

In fact in my immortal dynasty Susie Broke moved in with the McDermott family while still a teenager, story progression even married her and Travis later on when they were young adults or possibly even adults, if only it would have given them children but an original townie marriage is at least something.

Can same sex female couples get impregnated by a male without it being "cheating"? I'm sure there is no in vitro or artificial insemination, but is there a way to keep the other sim from getting mad about the cheating?

The 'No Jealousy' lifetime reward would do it, it came with World Adventures so it depends if you have it, and I think for it to work best in that situation all three would need it, or at least both mothers if you do not care about the father being upset.

Also Into The Future introduced genetic engineering to Oasis Landing, that let's same sex couples have children. All depends on what expansions you have.

Thanks.  I really didn't think teens would leave their household like that.  My mistake.  :)

Ok RANDOM! Can a teen get pregnant? Not by an adult (eww) but by another teen? It's something that happens often in real life, just wondering if possible for the game??

Not without certain mods, and discussions of teen pregnancy in the game are discouraged here.

Why?

I get that it's would be totally creepy for a player to watch the teens "woohoo" which I guess they would have to do to become pregnant. I just thought it would make a good story to play..

A couple of reasons.  First, Electronic Arts made the game so that teens cannot woohoo or get pregnant.  Second, a teen pregnancy is inappropriate for our family friendly atmosphere here.
