Ok, I'm going for it.  I've PM'd Rica with some questions that I'll fill you in with later but meantime I'm giving Union Cove a shot.  First of all it was built specifically to be an Immortal Dynasty worthy town.  Everything is convenient and it was up to date with ALL needed buildings up to the Pets EP and I don't think you can find a town with more available spouses anywhere.  I do not have the last version of UC.  It was a bit buggy although it did have a Festival Lot, (which was also buggy).  On my version of UC, (next to last one), these lots are missing:

Festival Grounds
ALL Supernatural lots
ALL University lots
ALL ITF lots

Here's a link where you find lists of the UC residents.  Some are very well known because of their appearance in well known dynasties and were added to UC with permission of the creators, so we can use them in our stories.

I've started an ID in Union Cove as well. I moved in the Dreamweavers (Scarlet is spouse to my founder), Giovarni and Pietro (pollenators) and Rob Kennedy (husband to Bubblegum).

Rather enjoyable so far :)

We don't want to get too far off topic here, but I believe it emails you if you ask it to (I think I once checked a setting to be emailed when I receive a PM).

Also, quick question - someone should clarify for Union Cove, I'm sure that there is one person that you're technically not supposed to "befriend" or add to the household because he is immortal. I may have read wrong, but if someone could fill me in that would be great, especially who he was so people know not to add him to the family!

Drat!!!  Oh well, I guess I can always PM Metro or one of the other team members with my questions, or read the over 300 posts about dynasties! 

Meanwhile, I'm still thinking UC is going to be my favorite place to do a dynasty.  It IS really slow and I'm not sure my pc will be able to handle the file once it starts growing but it has so many good features.  My Sim has klepto as once of her traits so between stealing cars, (there are a ton of parking spots all over UC so if you want your game to not lag so much ask for permission to delete them), dumpster diving, (found two more, the ones at the junkyard work unlike other junkyard ones), harvesting and selling fruits and veggies, (my Sim will max out gardening and supermax cooking).

You are allowed to bulldoze Amberlea Manor and Metro's Mansion to help speed things up but one of the other culprits for lag is the thousands of doubled trees and shrubs.  One tree placed right on top of another.  I doubt they would allow deleting these, and it would take several days to do so, but it sure would help.  That was one of the questions I wanted answered.

Velmoor D' Donlyn is not allowed as a best friend and is not allowed to move in.  You can be friends with him but not best friends.  He is still immortal in UC and never ages so it's considered an unfair advantage.

What are pollenators?  I had planned on maybe marrying Giovanni who would age up and die fairly quickly, probably before my Sim, (Andi Handichick), aged to elder in order to get Pietro who is lvl 4 painter as a child.

But the rules say you can't move anyone out of the household so those polinators would be taking up a slot until they die and the rules specifically say you cannot be best friends with Velmoor.  It isn't clear whether or not you can be best friends with him but not count him as a best friend.  He certainly is fun to be around!

One of the cons for UC is you have to have your house on moderators hill, which means no matter what kind of car you have your Sim will run down the path before getting into it!  Annoying and time wasting.  On the other hand, if all you are doing is going for groceries it's not a big deal.  As I continue playing it, (my Sim now has married Giovanni Gepetto so has an in house sculptor and an in house, long term painter with Pietro), I am finding more and more ways it could have been better. Things are a bit too spread out and we didn't really do enough planning for later expansions, and we certainly went overboard on the decor!  Of course, that's part of what makes it so very beautiful.  I almost think there are too many houses, especially high dollar ones, (although there are plenty of fixer uppers!), and not enough people.  It's a lot of fun to see Pam, Metro, and many other forum folks wandering around and definitely cool to see dynasty members like Velmoor, Voice and my favorite, James Douglas, but we needed more of "our" folk and fewer bars that required mixologists.  20-20 hindsight.

Well, you all will know what to do when you make a new world for Sims 4! ;) (And I hope you will -- I enjoyed Union Cove; I just couldn't do a long-term game there.)

Deklitch are you going for the HOF and have you written a story in the forum for your ID?  Have you played UC before and have you noticed a lack of some of the residents?  It's strange but residents that used to be very visible, like Anushka and her child, are nowhere to be seen now.  At least not yet.  I'm finding it really weird that folks that haven't been active on the forum also have their Sims not showing up.  (strange eerie music playing in background).

How exactly does this work?  I'm fair to middling on building but fail miserably at playing the game.  I DO know the mechanics of whoo hoo, just not really sure how putting extra males in a house would benefit an ID.

Well, you all will know what to do when you make a new world for Sims 4! ;) (And I hope you will -- I enjoyed Union Cove; I just couldn't do a long-term game there.)

I would have to learn CAW then.  I didn't build the "world" part of UC, just most of the buildings.  I'd actually like to do that and build a truly user friendly perfect dynasty world, except it wouldn't qualify for the HOF.

In case anyone is interested, Giovanni Gepetto makes an excellent spouse.  He's attractive in an Ernest Hemingway sort of way, makes a great house husband, and makes adorable nooboos.  Gen 1 has arrived.  Oh, and Pietro who comes along with Gepetto has painted the founder's portrait and he's just a teen and will be doing a portrait of baby Jim Dandy Handichick.

I'll explain it through.

For example, you start an immortal dynasty in Riverview. Your founder is looking around for sims to help them out, when they come across, say, Jon Lessen. Jon is an older adult, rich, attractive, but you don't have him eyed for your founder's spouse. Still, you'd like his genes in the family, so you move him in anyways.

Jon doesn't have to be useless. He might paint for you or do other dynasty things while your founder is out doing their things and marrying someone else. But at some point, Jon gets himself a girlfriend from outside the household. Maybe he finds something appealing in Roxie Lin. He goes to her house, Tries for a Baby, and three days later, Jon had a child that isn't a part of the household. And, in fact, Jon can have a lot of kids this way! He might end up with four or five kids with Roxie Lin, who never have to be a part of the household. Jon can also keep producing children as an elder and basically until Grim comes for him, because elder males can reproduce indefinitely.

And when your second generation heir is an adult, they can marry one of those Lin kids.

If you're as crazy as I am, you repeat the process once you notice that a desired male townie has gone grey. Move him in, find him a younger female mate, make children, and cheer when he goes to the grave.

In short, it's a way to keep a diverse gene pool. It's not needed to keep a dynasty running, but it ensures more interesting-looking immortals as time goes on and your immortals marry the kids or grandkids of those original townie men, and it does it without compromising household space that much.
