Just a simple question. I have Late Night, but I'm not using the expansion to its fullest (if any). I just care less about the whole Celebrity and Vampire system. So I'm thinking of reinstalling and leaving this out.
Yet I wonder if any of its features have been added to the base game, so when I do reinstall, I won't miss them. One said feature I'm hoping is the curved pool edge.
Anyway, a list of features that have been added to the base game, is all I ask in this thread.

I like the extra musical instruments and mixology. As a dynasty player, I'm always interested in new skills.

That's nice, KRae. But that doesn't really answer my question. :-\

Here's the details from the Late Night patch:

Hi there! I'm starting this thread for us poor, deprived people who don't own the new Late Night expansion pack, but have patched their game up and are experiencing the new changes in gameplay. This can be a place to discuss the new features that have come out with the update, or any bugs those features are causing, and to rave a little about things we like or don't like. Hey, why let the people with the expansion pack have all the fun, eh? Here's a list of the new features mentioned in the Community News on the official website, which can be added to as this topic expands:

  • Ability to suppress Opportunities in Game Options menu if so desired
  • Downloaded items are now detected by the game and can appear in dreams, opportunities etc.
  • Ability to form "groups" in live mode to link Sims on outings
  • CAS Features: New breast and muscle sliders, Zodiac signs
  • Ability to select any Lifetime Wish for Sims regardless of traits
  • New Build Mode tools: Platforms, Half Walls, Fountain Tool, Swimming Pool Tools (rounded corners etc)
  • New Buy Mode Features: Speakers which play continuously in community areas, urinals, Black Light setting for lighting
  • New Patterns in Create-a-Style
  • "Additional bug fixes and polish to existing features" for base game and all of the other expansions, unspecified. So far, it looks like the bug where the Repairman will fix burned objects has been fixed, although more serious ones are yet to be seen. Watch this space.

Also noted:
  • Improved graphics options for water reflections

New bugs: Just one for me so far, albeit minor; my Sim keeps rolling wants for a hot tub, even though as far as I can tell they're not part of the base game.

Overall, it looks like they've managed to expand the base game by a small degree while still leaving a hefty amount of new content unique to the Late Night expansion pack.  I haven't personally experienced any troubles with the patch, and I'm positively drooling over all the pretty new patterns in Create-a-Style. What's everyone else's opinions on the update?

I get the features. Listen. All EP's, EA put in features from each of them into the base game. For example, 2/3rds of the features of Generations are already in the game by default, so you aren't forced to get it to enjoy them.

I need a list, of features from Late Night, EA has put into the base game, so you don't need Late Night to enjoy them. Please.

Maybe you can find the details of the patch released right after Late Night was introduced. That might list what you are looking for.

Rikki's post, quoting Ausette, already covered it.  (I've only had Late Night since last Christmas, so I'm pretty familiar with the features that came in on the patch rather than with the full EP and  I can't think of anything to add to that list.)

This is what Rikki8528 gave you, Benie.  Note that Rikki says it's the details from the Late Night patch.  That means it's the patch that came out at the time of Late Night and it contains the things from Late Night that went into into the base game.

Ohhh. My mistake, then. I wasn't paying attention. Thank you for clarifying, and thank you, Rikki8528, for that info. Much appreciated.
