Can't Collect From Deeds?

Has anyone else had the glitch of not being able to collect from the business you own? Ever since the last patch which created the error 16, I can't collect now. Or am I just doing something wrong? It's been about 4 weeks of game play time that I haven't been able to collect. I can't even move the deeds into the gray box to sell them off... Any clues?

EDIT: Everything works as it should. You can't move the deeds from Inventory over to the big Sell button, but if you click on an individual deed there's a sell button that comes up. I purchased a Diner partnership on a Sunday afternoon, and once it turned 9am Monday morning I was able to collect.  Remember I never patched. All I did was reinstall vanilla and put WA on top of that. I'm pretty sure that's the route that causes the fewest problems.

Thanks for trying to test. I can't even collect from the individual places. Kind of stinks as I own 5 places and partner with 3 others... sigh.  Lots of wasted time.  Man that patch messed things up. I don't have the world game yet either, just got this game for my birthday in oct.

I'm having this same problem.  I downloaded the update, then installed World Adventures, and then installed the patch to correct the save issue.  I sold my deeds (click on the the individual deeds to sell them) and I'm going to try buying one fresh and see what happens with it.

You couldn't do that before either. You couldn't drag them anywhere, even to tidy up your inventory. Kind of annoying, I always like to have them at the top.

I have same problem, just as I was getting somewhere with the Trump Challenge as well  . Have emailed EA, hope they fix it soon.

Sounds like it might be a good practice to copy your saves to a backup folder before patching.

I sympathize deeply with the issues. I patched vanilla, then  installed WA, and have since patched again(the save issue patch?). I have a few odd bugs, like the tooltip or the radial menu pulling a disappearing act, but thankfully no corrupted famlies.
Could it be related to the number of saved towns/families? I had wiped all but 2 (my legacy and my triple-twins) families in anticipation of WA.

I'm sitting here wondering...if I take the file of my most recent game, like was described to retrieve it when it went corrupt, I gave up at that and just started over, but if I take what I have now, move it elsewhere, reload the game from scratch and drop it back in the saved files, you think that might fix it? And will I still be able to play that paticular game after a reinstall? Lol.  Don't want to reinstall if I lose this much time and effort put in!  Hope my question made sense!

I've been considering the whole reinstall approach as well but not sure if it's worth the effort.  Does anyone know if you can choose which patches to install or will it always get the latest one?

If you let the game choose it will always get the latest patch. If you want to control which patches gets installed then you need to reinstall and just say no whenever the installer wants to update the game. Then go to the official page and download the patch you want and install that.
And you should probably turn off the automatic updating in the launcher or it will keep telling you there's a new patch.

I could frankly just scream right now. But I won't...

After ALLLLL of my numerous issues.. there are now more. Was playing a new game in Riverview. Bad food thing continues to be a problem even though I have sold the fridge and bought a new one. Gave up on that. Played a while, then went to save and exit...yeah, not so much. Got error code 13. Nothing I did helped. Tried going to edit town. Nada. Went back to game. Nada. Had to just quit without saving which REALLY irritated me because I do not save that often. Prior to all of this, I had bought Lil Bistro. Was able to collect prior to this error code 13 problem. Now, I can't..had to go back to my last save, and now I can't collect.

There are 93 PAGES of posts on the EA forum about patch problems.. UMM HEEELLLLOOOO!!!

Man, do I know that feeling. I finally just uninstalled and started over... no way am I downloading any patches and I'm doing the save as also.  All seems pretty smooth except now my houses don't get full roofs. <eye roll>  Glad that's not that important to me!

I have never been able to collect more than once from any of the businesses I buy shares from. I figure its a broken aspect of the game and just don't bother any longer.
