Painting in bought properties?
« on: September 18, 2010, 03:39:08 PM »
Hey guys.

I have a family graveyard. It's a mausoleum to be exact.

Anyway, I've built underground chambers where I keep the remains of deceased family members and I wanted to place their portraits in the respective chambers.

While my sim was in home, I put the painted portraits in the family inventory, travelled to the lot, and when I tried to place the paintings, the game wouldn't let me... I couldn't use the family inventory and place the paintings... Well that sucks...

Any other way to do this? It seems that I can't place the paintings in the sim's personal inventory.

If you buy the property with your mausoleum, then you can click on the name of the property from map view, select real estate, then select build or buy mode, then you can add things from your family inventory to the property.

I already tried that. It doesn't work. When I go to Real Estate -> Buy/build on property and then go to the family inventory, the game doesn't let me access the items.

The family inventory is empty altough I put stuff in it. When I check it back at the house it's filled again.

I am at a loss then.  So sorry I can't help, but maybe someone else will see this and have an answer for you.

You put the paintings in the family inventory?  Why can't you put them in the sim's personal inventory?  I always put the paintings in their personal inventory at home, have them travel to the owned lot, and take the paintings out of their personal inventory to hang on the wall - I've never had any problems with this.  I've never tried to take paintings out of the family inventory and don't know if it can be done.

@Schipperke:

Thanks that worked! I slipped the paintings into the personal inventory and then put them on my mausoleum's walls.

My private family mausoleum looks really neat! Too bad the ghost glitch persists tough...
