Can't open game - any way I try!!

Basic information:
Sims 3 base, Pets, and Late Night were installed on my laptop (Dell) and were working fine. I have everything registered/backed up through Origin.
Yesterday, through Origin, I purchased and downloaded Seasons, Generations, and World Ambitions.

Ever since then, when clicking the play button through the launcher, nothing happens.
I have bypassing the launcher by opening through the files - that does not work either.

Today I uninstalled EVERYTHING sims related, including Origin. I reinstalled Origin and the base game and am still having the same issue.
Live chat with EA was pointless, they suggested I install the super patcher (which i did yesterday before uninstalling everything, to no avail) and once I said I had tried that, they basically said they werent sure what the issue was and to un/reinstall everything.

The only reason I havent reinstalled all of the expansion packs yet is that I do not want to waste the time doing so when I still cant get even the base game to install.

I saw a mention to a "cleaner" that will wipe out useless files after uninstalling everything, which is my next step, again, but am hoping for other ideas.

I have the free version of AVG and am not sure how to find out if Sims is blocked/protected or not, help with that would be appreciated, but I have always had AVG and have never had issues before.

Yesterday I did get some error codes - will show those in case that helps, but I dont know if they will still be valid as I have since unistalled everything.

I can see that your version is 1.42, when the latest patch of the game is 1.67. Maybe try installing the updates first before installing more expansion packs.

Welcome to our Forum, tmarshall14.

My first question is how did you uninstall the game?  Did you use Control Panel in Windows?  If so, I suggest that you try manually uninstalling the game.  Sometimes, using Control Panel doesn't get everything out properly.  Look on this thread for instructions on how to manually uninstall.  If things are working properly, you will then be able to install the game again.  Start with the base game and see if it will open and run.  If it does not, we'll have to look at other things.  A description of your computer would also be helpful.

When you boot up the game, try completely exiting out of Origin.
Also, hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete and open up the task manager. Force Close everything and try again. Usually games will only give that error if there is something running in the background that would prevent you from updating your game.

Also, you've likely already done this, but have you tried restarting your computer and seeing if that helps get the launcher going as per normal? It's kind of a silly thing to ask, as I know you've probably already tried, but if not, it can make a lot of difference.
