Random question about family lines
« on: April 15, 2014, 09:21:32 PM »
Random question: Not sure where it goes.. Sorry!

My question is, if I have placed four couples into a town. Would it be possible to keep an heir from each couple alive for say 10 generations?

How many separate family lines do you think you could keep alive in one town? And for how long? Assuming that was your goal and lifetime wishes and other things were not important, just continuance of the families. Thanks for any insight!

There isn't necessarily an upper limit, and an unbroken line of 10 generations is certainly possible, but the game does have more to process when you have sims with long family trees. Plus, family trees can and often do break. My own dynasty has a fractured tree due to some bad traveling bugs.

This sounds sort of like you want to do four legacies in one town at the same time.  Not even really a legacy; just a multiple generational family.  Technically, it's possible, but the load on your game makes it very unlikely and terribly difficult.  It's hard enough when we do our Dynasty Challenges with just one multi-generational family.

You could try it, but I'm guessing there would be a lot of lag.

Hmm.. I see... Well that may not be the way to go. However I did have this dream of four influential families in my town but I'm always reluctant to do something to slow the game down. Thanks for the info!!
