Townies didn't download
« on: April 13, 2014, 09:40:15 PM »
Hi everyone!

So I recently (about 3 days ago) bought myself a brand new MacBook 2013. I downloaded all of my Sims games (I have all expansion packs) and the downloads went fine. However, when I open the game, I only have the option to create a new family or load a family from the library. I can't choose from a pre-existing family. It's happened in two different towns, Twinbrook and Moonlight Falls. Is this something I can fix without completely uninstalling and reinstalling my games?

This is because when you start a fresh install the game is in tutorial mode. You just have to go to Edit Town. It will ask you if you want to leave the tutorial. Click "yes" and you should be good to go.

This always gets me when I do a fresh install, it's so annoying.

That makes sense. It's been over a year since I've re-installed the game, so I was really panicked. I paid WAY too much money for this computer for it to not work! Thanks so much!

Edit: now the game won't open at all, it keeps saying there is an error connecting to the server?

Hi Clrgrdhrslvr,

Make sure nothing is blocking the connection (firewall, anti virus, or another program)

Programs that may conflict with Origin

Hope this helps. If it doesn't please post back and we'll dig into it more.

I tried it again at home (I was at school the first time and the wifi is terrible) and it worked fine.. So I have no idea what the problem was.
