Failed to Share Error
« on: April 13, 2014, 01:24:33 PM »
Is there any way to recover built houses from the library? I built a house on the island in Twinbrook and have been unable to share it. It saves to bin but not to the Export folder. I have even tried doing a factory reset.

Hi Jude,

I see a few suggestions as I searched for this problem.

- Try a test of saving a different house to see if it saves.
- Have you tried saving it again with a different name?
- Try saving the house while being logged out of the game.
- Move the Mods folder out, and try saving the house again.

You said you tried this?:
- Make a new Sims 3 folder, load saved game. Then try saving the house.

Hope this helps :)

I've tried most of those. I did figure out that it will share other houses. It must be something about that specific house. Darn. I liked that house too. :(

Hmm.. That's strange. Try taking screenshots of the house and try to recreate it and see if it will save?

I will try that after I get settled in the new house. Three more days until move day. It's taking forever to pack because I only have full use of one hand. I injured the middle finger of my right hand so it's in a splint. Caught it between a full box and a door jam. Ugh!

I wanted to add a few more suggestions - just in case someone else finds themselves with the same problem and is searching for tips.

- Try Resetting the whole town, in Edit Town mode - Press Shift-Ctrl-C keys together to bring up cheat console and then type in resetsim *
- Try running the game without custom content. As it maybe a store item messing up the "share" command. -- Open the launcher, click the Installed Content Tab. Checkmark Run Game Without Custom Content. Then click the Play button.

*Edit* -- Just tried to test the tips above, and they did not allow us to "share" the house that is stuck in the library.  We even tried a new Sims3 folder with the library folder from the older Sims3 folder. Still could not "share" the house.
