Deliciously Indulgent Bakery
« on: April 07, 2014, 06:15:24 AM »
Love the fact that they are still bringing out new things for Sims 3 even with Sims 4 on the horizon. Huge thanks to them for that.

Anyway I have just purchased the bakery, downloaded & added it my game. I'm just wondering if anyone has installed it & looked at. The bakery doesn't stay stocked. There are no pies or anything to buy once you've been in and played. Does anyone know if that's right or have I done something wrong?

Many thanks in advance

They stated on the official forums that bakeries will not be automatically restocked.  However, there is a work around.  With the testingcheatsenabled true turned on, use the cheat to build on this lot on the bakery lot and then Ctrl+Shift click on the baker's oven then click on DEBUG_Serve and you can make any recipe.  It will spawn on the floor.  Then simply pick it up and place it on the rack/display of your choice.  It might take a little bit for you to refill the whole bakery but in my experience, stuff sells faster then the racks aren't full - go figure.

I thought I had made a mistake as well.  I was actually in the bakery with my sim when everything vanished! I read on the Sims 3 forum that someone had already posted a testing mod on the NRAAS site that addresses this issue.  None of it seems to work for the way I play, so I will probably just put the oven in my sim houses so that I can bake to my heart's content and not worry about trying to sell the items.

my Bakery had no stock when I first entered it.  As I stocked it it had customers.  The next sims day, no customers all day.  Any thoughts?

They were full? ;)  It's hard to say with EA - your bakery is in competition with all other community lots for inactives to visit.

My bakery is staying stocked, but I also have very few sales. In 3 (sim) days I've only sold 3 items for 77 simoleans. Can Sims file for bankruptcy?  :-\

How many venues do  you have that Sims can visit?  Like lounges, clubs, parks, etc.

I only own the Bakery, but of course there are several venues in the game that my sims can visit. Am I understanding your question correctly?

When the game pushes inactives to go to community lots, all of them count.  So if you have a lot of lounges, hangouts, etc. then that is your bakery's competition for visitors.  To increase the visitors to my bakery, I ended up removing a lot of the lounges and dives and kept just one that I really liked.  Then I started seeing a lot of visitors.  Also, and I don't know why, but sales seem to be better when the shelves are only maybe half full.

So now I'm getting a lot of customers in the bakery, but zero sales. I have the prices set at low, all registers are manned and the shelves are full. Sims will ooo and aaaah over the baked goods, but they NEVER buy. I have the lot set as Hangout, the game doesn't seem to accept anything else. Does this matter?

Try with the shelves only about half full.  I seemed to have better sales when there was little to choose from.

Does anyone have a solution to my problem? At the main counter, other sims are able to go behind it. I've tried a ton of things to fix this and none of them have worked. Anyone have any solutions?  :-\

Is there a way to prevent other sims from going behind the counter and helping themselves, going upstairs and using my computer and sleeping on my couch in my bakery?
