With all the problems I've had I almost decided to start, AGAIN.  Instead, I decided my character, Winter Thyme was really a viable character and I would continue her saga with her newest, and last, resurrection with a brand new town and mate.  This thyme, I'm playing in RV, my least favorite town, simply because I know SV so well I felt it wasn't fair.  So...here goes:

Chapter One:  You Don't Know Me

Really, you DON'T know me.  I am the one who is yet to come.  The last one.  At the moment, I, like many others of my kind, are waiting to be born.  I have decided even now that I will be the last.  I will be the one to put a stop to the pain of watching the mortals die and leave the others bereft.

Perhaps you aren't aware of what is happening?  Perhaps you haven't heard how some folk in town seem to live forever?  It's true, you know.  There is a special cadre of people who have discovered, to their great sorrow, the elixir of life that will keep them, and the members of their dynasty, alive forever.  But I digress.  I meant to introduce you to them, one by one, till it is my turn to arrive.  When I do, I will be the last, and the dynasty will end.

Let me introduce you to our founder, Winter Thyme.  Having her heart broken by what she considered to be the untimely death of her parents and lover, she moved to a new town and started her quest for the elixir of life, Ambrosia.  She had vowed no one she ever loved would die again, only to find she must chose only one person in her lifetime, an heir of her body, but her mate, and anyone else she knew, must die.  Consoling herself with the knowledge that at least her child would survive and be with her forever, she sought the formula.........

Day One:  Dear diary,  Here I am in River View.  Such a pretty town!  My little patch of home, an empty lot at the moment, is in the best neighborhood in town.  Mom and Dad were so wise when they taught me what I should look for in purchasing a place to live.  The view out back is outstanding and the neighboring houses mean mine, once it's built, will only continue to increase in value.

Today I met the coolest guy!  He is sooooooo handsome!  I worship the ground he walks on.  He's a rock star and I simply couldn't believe he lives right across the street from me!  Right from the beginning it was love at first sight.......FOR BOTH OF US!  Yes, that's right.  He loves me as much as I love him.  Let me tell you I didn't waste any time.  I immediately proposed:

He was so excited he jumped up and down and giggled like a girl!  He never thought it would never happen to him because, though all the townies worshiped him, but he knew they only wanted him for his fame.

Of course, he said an emphatic yes!  He literally swept me off my feet and wanted to run off with me.

I had a few things to do, so instead, just asked him if I could spend the night.  I had to get my career going, build us at least a bedroom and bathroom, and do a few things my kleptomaniac nature was pushing me toward.  I hated to steal from Jon, but I knew if I didn't the others who lived in his big house would, and he would be left with nothing.  I nabbed a couple of cars and a guitar, and gee, I don't remember what else. He would NOT be without his beloved guitar and cars if I could do anything about it.

Finally, I couldn't wait any longer.  We were married in a private ceremony and moved into our new house on my lot.  What a happy night that was!
Oh, dear!  Car pool is here.  I guess I'll continue this tomorrow!

Excellent restart, Joria.  I love Jon Lessen.  Such a clever way to tell the story, too.  I love it!

Great restart Joria.  I totally forgot about Jon Lesson in RV.  He is a good choice and in one of my games, he lived about 30 days over, so needles to say, he outlived a few other sims.  Good luck with your story and hope all goes well this time, will keep my fingers crossed for you. ;D

Thanks, everyone!

Dear Diary,  I knew the inevitable day was coming.  I dreaded growing older because each age brings me closer to the time when I must say good bye to my beloved Jon.  I have finally told him about the elixir.  To say his love was the truest possible would be demeaning to his selflessness.  He accepted it with equanimity and said he would do all in his power to stay with me as long as he could, and would make sure our child and I had a good, safe, base.  He was sad that he would miss so many milestones in our future child's life, but said the precious time he has with me more than makes up for anything.  He praised my courage in telling him the truth.  Forgive the spots on this page.  I can't help my tears.

When the day came for my birthday, Jon had arranged a surprise party for me.

Images removed by Joria

*She seemed so sure of herself, didn't she?  Ah, my ancestress what a wonder you were!  Were you prepared for what would happen next, or were you as hard hearted as some of the historians have made you seem?  Somehow I doubt it.  Somehow I believe true love had softened you, and opened you up to the pain of really living.  Perhaps you were beginning to learn there are two sides to each coin.  But I digress, and interrupt your story.*

What I didn't know, dear Diary, was it was not the happy party I had always hoped and planned.  My future was not looking bright to me.  I had no child, I was an adult, and Jon would soon be taken from my arms.  Can I really do this?  Must I live forever without him?  The temptation to make some elixir for him was so great!  Thankfully, I was not yet prepared with all the ingredients.

My life was such a mess!  With my inborn traits of being a Natural Cook, Green Thumb, Angler, Friendly and Kleptomaniac, there was great confusion within me.  How could these help me achieve my lifetime wish of becoming a 5 Star Chef?  So far I'm doing great in my garden but everything else is just awful.  I feel so far behind!  I'm not anywhere near achieving all the criteria for being able to brew that awesome elixir.  At least Jon has his part well in hand and has taken photos of me and done a bunch of portraits.  He's begun work on sculpting as well.  Uh oh!  I just realized I'm going to have to learn how to paint!!!  He might not be around to do our child!  Oh no!  Will I make it all in thyme?

Thank you, Pam.  Wish my grammar was better/easier for me.  Dangling participles are my curse.

Dear Diary,  I can't believe this!  We hadn't even finished the cake in the frig when I got the message it was Jon's birthday today.  I quickly threw a birthday party together, although I must say my heart wasn't in it.

He looked rather surprised, and perhaps a bit dismayed, as we all cheered and laughed.  It only took him a minute to accept his fate, and he bravely joined in the festivities, knowing what was going to happen later in his life.  As the change came over him, I secretly hoped it would fail and he would remain my young lover.  I prayed it would not cause him any pain.

"No!  Don't say it!  I love you so much and I can't bear the thought of our parting.  You're right though.  Let's bless this night with joy, and hope a child comes from it."

Ok, dear Diary, you don't need to be here now.  "Closes the book, and the door, and reaches for her love.*

Really good Joria.  I love the love story aspect.  Just a romantic at heart, I suppose.  I enjoy reading it.

Haven't you all discovered how these bits of pixels manage to tell their story themselves?  It's really funny how little we have to direct them.  Of course, the main theme is the immortal thing but there are so many little sidelines that I for sure didn't "plan".  Thanks for the kind words about the writing.  I think I watched too many soap box operas as a kid.

I certainly find that some Sims just seem to have their own ideas of what they're stories should be, it's one of the things I enjoy most about playing.

Dear Diary, well, it happened!  Pregnant with our first, and hopefully only, child.  I want just one because if I had twins I would have to have the first born live forever, and watch in agony as the second aged and died.  It is bad enough to know my beloved will be leaving me, but it is even much worse to have a mother lose her child, especially when she COULD prevent it.  Of course, that would mean we'd all lose our immortality and die.  I'm beginning to wonder if this is not such a bad thing.

Anyway, I immediately told Jon.  Well, you can just imagine his reaction!  I must say I did expect a bit more than a thumbs up!
He finally got a clue and gave me a hug.

Jon felt there was no time to waste.  He was finally able to paint a portrait and he wanted to make sure he had one of me pregnant, but before I got so big it would be uncomfortable for me to pose.  Really, the man paints more portraits of me than anything else.  Guess it's true love, eh?

*Sitting here in my spirit state, reading my ancestress' diary, I fear I must interject a bit.  How could she even contemplate what "true love" is?  True love is selfless, and allowing her spouse to die so she could selfishly live on seems a bit lacking in her amount of true love.  Jon, on the other hand, knowing he must die, is willing to stick by her and love and cherish her despite his future and her greed for everlasting life.  Now you know why I have chosen to be the LAST immortal!  But to continue.........*

One evening, as I was sitting reading and boning up on my skills, I got this funny feeling.....

OH NO!  Baby is coming and I KNOW I can't possibly be ready enough!  Is the house clean enough?  Did I get enough diapers?  What about the crib?  Is it the exact right crib?  Where's that dust cloth?  I need to eat... no I need to..............

Jooooooonnnnn!!!!!

He told me later he felt like something was up with me and decided to come check.  How sweet!  Of course, he was totally freaked out and pretty useless in the help the wife to the hospital department!  Here he is!  Our little Justin Thyme!  Jon rushed on ahead to get the door for me. The baby and life are sure to settle down into a new routine now.  I......oh, excuse me!  Baby is crying!
